Dr Dawn Ong was by far one of the best vets I've ever consulted. She was very professional, detailed and organised. When I was torn between which treatment I should have proceeded with my sick dog, she was extremely patient in explaining her rationale behind her suggestions and I truly admired her competency and confidence in delivering herself with professionalism. I would definitely recommend any pet owner out there to make Pets Avenue Vet Clinic their first choice!

I have taken my dog numerous times to Pets Avenue. We are always happy with the attention and service that is provided by the entire team there. Highly recommend.

(Very great experience! Highly recommended!) Brought my pet over to check up on its swollen cheek pouch for the first time. Was attended to by Dr Dawn Ong. Not only was she very patient to listen to all my worries and (grumbling), she was very nice in explaining all the options available to me. Had a great experience :) Thank you!

1. Called at around 1 am as my cat ingested a small ball of thread, told to go down immediately by male vet/assistant.
2. Reached 20 mins later and Dawn (vet) told us that she will check and try to induce vomiting.
3. After about 10 mins, she told us that the clinic doesn't have the supplies to induce vomiting in cats. Then told us that we have 3 other options - A. Surgery (she showed us a form detailing the costs totaling up to 2-3k), B. Enteroscopy (which they don't have the equipment for). C. Wait And See (which was described as dangerous)
4. We thought that inducing vomit should be the first remedy and wanted to go to another clinic. Dawn offered to call other clinics to see if they have the appropriate supplies to induce vomiting in cats and told us that consultation fee is at $198.
5. We thought it was ridiculous that the clinic wanted to charge consultation fee when they did not have the supplies to deal with the problem as a first remedy, and did not inform us during the call in the first place, wasting precious time.
6. After about 5-10 minutes (of discussions), her male colleague proceeded to charge us 50% of the fees, with the contacts of another clinic on the receipt.
We protested as per 5. but the male colleague said that their first remedy based on experience of the vet is surgery, adding that they had lost cats before in similar situations. Note that this is in direct contradiction with 2.
7. Not wanting to argue further and waste more time, we paid up and left this clinic.

My 11 year old dog was throwing up all weekend, so on the Monday I took her to Pet Avenue. Pet Avenue was not our regular vet clinic but because we had just moved and it was the closest. The vet at Pet Avenue was rather young but very considerate and she properly diagnosed what was wrong with my dog, The problem I have with Pet Avenue was the cost. My dog needed to be put on an antibotic drip and needed to stay at the clinic for two or three days. Pet Avenue worked out that I would need to pay S$500 a day. I thought that the price was a little steep so I checked with my old clinic and for the exact same service and medication they were charging S$150 a day. The price difference and the resulting attitude when I challenged the cost forced me to write this post.

Paid almost $200 for Pudding to get referred to The Animal Doctors (apparently having so many referrals). Pudding has completed his course of antibiotics and still, the lump has not been removed?

An excellent team of staff here at Pets Avenue; I had to rush my cat to the vet one night due to an emergency. The only 24-hr clinic to have answered my call and attend to my worries and my cat, Baby. Consulted Dr Chong, who was extremely thorough in his explanation and very empathetic towards our situation. He recommended an emergency surgery, and despite the urgency he reasonably gave us a choice of doing the surgery the next day at his clinic or another clinic nearer to our home. Of course, Baby had her surgery done at Pets Ave the next day and stayed at the clinic for a few nights before getting discharged. As an owner who was very concerned about her pet's condition, I received phone call updates before and after Baby's surgery, and even when Baby was already sleeping at home after the discharge, the clinic SMSs and calls me to ask about Baby's progress. Ever since then,Baby has been in the pink of health and is a little more active than before. I thank all the staff for the amazing experience we had; everyone was driven to help and served their clients with passion. I highly recommend pet owners to bring their pets here, you'll be very pleased!
