Been coming here numerous times. Must say it's one of the best restaurants in town. Food is fresh and delicious, price is affordable and most importantly every dish worths the bucks! 5 solitary stars!

Excellent service, staff takes time to explain n serve. Food is consistently excellent.

Very disappointing. We came here expecting good food, since they have a Michelin star. We ordered a six course set. It was awful. Where to start? They didn't have their signature dish available. The service was poor at best. The food was no good at all. We spent $100 (2 of us) and left hungry.

Our six courses came out about three minutes apart. We had our "main" course before we finished the starter. There was not a single dish that we enjoyed. The main course was a noodle soup that had nothing going for it. I've had better noodle soup in Idaho, USA.

The flavors were weak, and the food wasn't even carefully prepped. All the meat was full of bones and cartilage. My "dessert" was comprised of 4 berries in a bowl of sweet liquid, and the berries still had pits inside, even though they had been cut open to remove the pits.

Service. Wow, it sucked. We had to ask for our water to be refilled 4 times. Our server took our plates to get us clean ones, then, ten minutes later we had to ask for plates because she forgot about us. She spilled food on me while clearing our dishes, and didn't even acknowledge that it happened or offer to help clean it up.

I can't even find the words to properly express how stupid I felt for going to this place. It's a disgrace to the Michelin star rating system.

There's nothing that they could do to fix it. I wouldn't go back, even if it was for free.

Stay far away. Any other place on the block would be a better choice. They didn't seem to care or even notice that we didn't like our meal.

I had to stop on the way home and get something to eat. That's all you really need to know.

The food is pretty good, staff is friendly, and the decor is nice. Whether the setup is befitting of a Michelin Star... everyone will have her own views, I guess. I'm pleasantly surprised there's free valet parking.

One of the better Chinese restaurants. Taste is subtle and exquisite. Presentation is very good. Good service. Need to be early as it can get full quite fast.

We were the first customers of the evening and received a warm welcome from a lovely and helpful waiter who showed us to our table. The restaurant is not overly formal and there appeared to be plenty of casual diners as wells as those celebrating a special occasion. Our waiter patiently took the time to explain the dishes in the menu and help us avoid items which were made with pork (as we requested), even offering to prepare one of their signature dishes without pork. We received a complimentary first course of pieces of fresh fruit on ice which was a great way to cleanse the palate. The first couple of courses which came out set the bar very high and were fantastic - particularly interesting and refreshing was the bitter gourd on ice. The subsequent dishes however didn't quite live up to the standards we were growing accustomed to. Moreover, the service started to deteriorate over the course of the evening as the restaurant got busier - our dishes weren't cleared away until we finally got someone's attention to ask for them to be removed, one table of diners received a large bowl of soup with no serving bowls, another table had to serve their own wine from the serving station after their bottle had run out. All in all a very good meal and fantastic value albeit with variable service (not completely in keeping with the standard one would normally expect at a Michelin starred restaurant). Still, certainly worth a visit!

It is always a pleasure to celebrate birthdays here once in a few years. Firstly food and service is above par. Then they make an effort to give you a printed out photo and a small gift when you celebrate a special occasion there with them.

The Michelin star is deserved. Yummy food and attentive service. In fact, it's the best service I've experienced in Singapore.

Derek Poh (18/11/2017 12:47)
Great heng hua food. Their signature fried beehoon is very good.

Bernard Yeong (13/11/2017 12:52)
Yes. It's a Michelin Star Restaurant and the food seems uniquely simple yet tasty without overly savoury. Ideal for light eaters although may not appeal to individuals used to Cantonese Chinese cuisine.

Good food good service. Great place to dine with your family. Families with young kids will be pampered with balloon animals.

I like this restaurant because the foods are typical their own taste different from chinese restaurants in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong & China that I've ever been. My favourite dish is bitter gourd. I'm sure to be there again next year.

Excellent service and consistent quality - thats what made the cut for Putien's Michelin Star :) staff was very attentive and thoughtful, they even gave a complimentary meal for our toddler to start off with before we ordered so he could be fed first. The food is homely with good quality ingredients and not too salty or oily. Loved the sugar coated Yam, milky fish soup, salt and pepper trotters, homemade silky tofu, the garlicky clams, Xinghua mifen, iced bittergourd with honey. Well done!

Nasi Briyani (01/09/2017 08:27)
Nom Nom Nom... delicious but they charge for "free services" like warm water

Monica Tan (11/08/2017 18:06)
Felt like the whole dining experience elevated after Putien got it's Michelin star! Each dish we ordered was exquisite and done explicably. Only slight disappointment was the drunken prawn soup (竹筒虾) being rather bland than usual and the long wait to foot our bill.

This outlet also has three amazing staff who were so attentive despite it being a full house night, think one of the name is Ah Lian, another management trainee guy and a Malaysian guy with slightly gold curly hair.

We often dine at Putien, and some of our favourite must order include: 1. The cockles (sadly it wasn't available)
2. Honey yam 3. Lor mee (people always go for the beehoon, but trust me the lor mee is really very good) 4. He ye pau (荷叶包) 5. Fried egg plant with pork floss (it's probably one of the best, With the outside being so crispy and flavourful and the egg plant inside remains so soft and juicy. I don't eat egg plant cooked in other methods cos of the gluey texture but I love this at Putien)

Seasonal special for August: Ah Lian (super good waitress) recommended us to try their putien clam, it's somewhat like a bamboo clam. We ordered the garlic steam one and it was sooo good. Sweet, clean and great texture. So glad we tried it!

Level of service is certainly not disappointing for Michelin star restaurant. Food is nice, with decent portion. A relaxed and comfortable ambience, great for gathering.

Good food, just a little slow service

Meng Leong Tay (05/05/2017 12:34)
My favourite outlet for Putien - HengHua food

Dominic Ong (15/04/2017 01:52)
Our home grown 1-star michellin restaurant. Loved the food there. They have nice tea there as well. Had the longan flower tea.

Mam Sutheera (13/04/2017 19:02)
Taste quite good. Dont miss their 100 second stewed yellow croakers!

Himanshu Agarwal (20/03/2017 04:26)
Initially, I was a little skeptical as I had never tried authentic Chinese earlier but it turned out to be good.

Lionel Louis (25/02/2017 14:48)

Been here invited by a local friend and his family. Very nice renewed place, very good chinese food. Friend told me that they just had a Michelin guide star. It was really busy.
Staff good and care of customers.
Don't know the price.

Jeanie Tsang (02/08/2016 18:00)
Entrance right where the bus stop is.
They even provide valet if you're driving. You will have a hard time if you wanna find parking in that area by yourself so that's a really nice value-added service.
Food is lovely just as any other outlets are.
Was quite chaotic ordering for a big group and got some orders wrong.. overall a restaurant we will always return from time to time..

Jie Bo Ti (27/10/2016 18:06)
Michelin starred restaurant in 2016 so a certain level of quality is certainly present. Perhaps the best thing is that Putien offers Teochew cuisine which is different from the normal Chinese fare that most restaurants offer.

Heng Tan (23/07/2016 15:07)
This putien (main) restaurant is a one star michelin chinese restaurant serving outstanding putien hokkien dishes. Their services are exceptional and make our visit very memorable.

Vaneet Dadra (19/06/2016 05:17)
Pretty helpful staff and food is good.

Benny Wan (09/06/2016 14:46)
good hokkien food, white lor mee is my favorite

K.T. Ling (30/04/2016 02:39)
Excellent service staff! Nice fruit decoration for birthday celebration, and they come out in full force to sing to you.

Jiun Tang (17/04/2016 11:02)
This is a really popular restaurant. But I can't help feeling the food is over-rated. If you like Chinese food on the sweet side, perhaps you'll like it. All the dishes we tried were heavy on sugar.

Avery Ng (04/04/2016 14:41)
good service good food
that's it!
