I visited Dr Oon a month ago from a referral by a GP for specialist opinion on my severe skin allergic reaction from food which I went to A&E for. Not only was the clinic unable in terms of technical capability to provide further medication/testing/investigation, the lack of current knowledge of skin allergy testing available in Singapore was really disappointing. He was not aware if food dyes allergy testing was possible in any of the clinics in Singapore - which he said he would call up National Skin Centre to ask, and 1 month later I have not heard back.
His lack of advice even at multiple prompting for any opinion was really a waste of my visit. Although AVIVA insurance covered the fees, I am still really appalled at the level of incapability of a clinic listed to be a skin clinic.

I had a patch on my head from alopecia areata I've been trying to see it several doctors but none of them work for me. Then I heard a friend recommendation to see Dr. Oon Beng Bee.
I went there, he was really professional! Checking my medical record and meticulously trace my head if i had more patch. Then he did 3 injections on the patch, then in a month, baby hair grew!!
Then I came back to check up, he found that the root of my illness was from thyroid disease. Turned out its true after doing a blood test.
Im happy it was an early detection for the thyroid. Now I'm totally cured.

I have decided to post as I saw the previous review that doesn't do him justice. Dr Oon is a superb medical specialist. He is not about being all smiles and is a man of few words.
The medical care he has given me and also my 2 daughters for the past 10 years cannot be expressed in a few words. Without his experience and knowledge we would have brought our eczema under control. A good doctor is one that helps you improve your quality of life. The smiles and jokes are just a bonus. Dr's are not marketing or public relations officers.
Thank you Dr Oon

Disliked my entire visit to the old doctor. Felt very unsafe with him.
He was not helpful and could not offer any suggestion or treatment for my skin condition, and am not sensitive to modesty despite repeated instructions. There were also long periods of uncomfortable silence just sitting there, being stared at.
In the end, I was left to give blood sample in a storeroom surrounded by cardboard boxes, whilst sitting on a carton.
I simply do not see the reason to consult him as a specialist if my GP is more respectful of me despite not curing my condition.
