Day by day, MRT services is made people life more difficult, because :
-ur services top up machines didn't give back the changes , while your counter doest accept top up anymore, and also no services to exchange big.note to be a small note

After opening downtown line, the Newton circus area becomes very convenient. It’s easy to across the road toward each direction now.
(If you push the stroller or use wheelchair, you still need to check how to across safely)
But around MRT, there’s nothing special except the food court.

Close to Newton food court and connects with the Downtown Line. Has very unique teardrops decor.

Short transit betw Newton Downtown Line (Blue) and North South Line (Red). Hair cut place at Blue line! Very convenient. Visit them soon :))
The red line station can be warm sometimes due to crowding & aircon under service. Friendly SMRT staff.
Landmarks: Newton Food Centre (famous for BBQ seafood, prawn mee, duck noodles, Thai food, Nasi Padang etc.)
Prudential@Scotts, NEA, Sheraton Towers, Alliance France.

All of the Subways in Singapore seem to be very clean and well-maintained. This one is a connection port to other Subway Lines. It is also connected to a large mall and has lots of shopping and plenty of restaurants for something to eat. I think you can spend an entire day walking around this place, it's huge. The pictures of the shoes were taken just inside the mall entrance from the street.

This subway station has just expanded its service to handle more lines since July 2016. Newer exits and connections were opened since.

Conveniently located with the NS and Downtown lines interchange. Nearby is the popular Newton Food Centre.

It's kind of inconvenient to have to walk out from Downtown to Northsouth and vice versa.

Much better now that the downtown line has been extended, and has more exits. Annoying in that you have to exit the downtown line and then re-enter the North South line though it didn't seem to deduct any money.

Singapore MRT and all its transit options are excellent, by far the most cost effective way to get around the city. If only all transit systems could be run like the MRT.

The new downtown line provides fantastic links down to Marina Bay, Little India, and Bugis. The station itself is as nice as all the others.
