One of the best hospitals patients in South East Asia can get treatments. Facilities are top notch with equally competent medical staff.

Ill Get Through This (04/04/2018 04:23)
The layout is strangely confusing though it's well labelled. For different surgeries, my wife was wheeled from one building to the next, through basements and back doors. Service is good as expected and the nurses are very caring. However like many of such public hospitals, sometimes things get lost and appointments are made without informing patients. Good job nevertheless. After the 10th visit, we got tired of the 2 food courts and walked across the road to try the food to much disappointment.

I have been to this hospital regularly, once admitted in emergency, and multiple times for checkups. In my experience this is a very good medical center and hospital. Good doctors, well behaved and friendly staff, clear processes and practices, nice queue management and reasonable prices. I trust this hospital and have great experience here every time ! Thank you NUH

* Ill tempered staff.
* Trainee doctors on constant rotation.
* Each day's doctors give conflicting advice/diagnosis/scans/treatment
* Long waiting hours for A&E (2+ hrs)
* Long waiting hours for ward (add. 2+ hrs, minimum)
* Long appt time for CT scan if not class A ward (5 days vs next day)
* Expedite kicking patients out of ICU and ward if non critical.

If you are alive and stable, they will make you wait. Even if you just had a heart attack, stroke, fracture, open wound. Waiting for A&E. Afterwards, waiting for bed. Come at 8pm, warded at 5am.

My mom was recommended to discharge without any diagnosis, while still high risk of fever, UTI or blood septicaemia. She was readmitted to A&E the very next day.

My uncle had kidney stone. Doctor said based on CT, need surgery to remove because the stone is too big for vibration to disperse. 5 hrs later, the nurse say can discharge tmr, no issue. Consistency much?! What about the stone, for goodness sake?!

My aunt was moved out of ICU, despite in coma a few days ago due to high blood pressure. They needed ICU turnover cos no space, so they kicked out patients of lower priority. Without ICU observation, she died the next morning in normal ward.

Do you want shoddy diagnosis? Long waiting times? Discharged for ward space rather than proper observatory care? Don't come to SGH or NUH. Esp if its critical and very discomforting, because time window/lousy diagnosis/ward turnover vs ethics/ will kill you or your loved ones.

I recently had my grandchild admitted here for 2 days..generally good care but there were just too many young interns - many of them in groups of 4-5. They were all courteous ‘doctors in the making’ and we had no issues in helping them hone their investigation skills but kind of got tired after repeated response to same set of questions. They perhaps need to plan this in a more structured manner and recognize that it is not generally not easy for us to identify who is a doctor or who is a student..

Accident and EMERGENCY...in a hospital that boasts of a quality policy, "Patients Our Focus".

My brother who has very little vision left (glaucoma) was rushed to NUH A&E at about 7pm.

First review...diagnosed as infection of the eyes, so bad that the eyes were swollen, very red and he's unable to open.

Still waiting for the ophthalmologist after 3 hours! The danger of him losing what little vision he has left is lost on Drs in the EMERGENCY Dept!

Given that NUH is an acute hospital, if Patients were really The Focus, they could have summoned on-call eye specialists! Ludicrous to think they couldn't find any for 3 hours (regardless of purportedly being busy with other emergency cases!)

Not the first time...

World care medical care, indeed!🙄

Pretty easily accessible by MRT(Kent Ridge). Shopping mall right beside the hospital. Food court at basement. Medical services is pretty good and has all patient care needs. However, ward admissions are very pricey and medical checkups too.

worst A & E Service I've ever experienced.

Hillary S (23/02/2017 18:16)
State of the art care. Subway accessible. There's even an international office that will help foreigners.

Andrew Bedford (13/02/2017 03:42)
A sometimes crowded but excellent new hospital, with great staff and all facilities a hospital should have. There are even cafes and food outlets either within or adjacent to the hospital. The MRT station is under the hospital as well.

In this hospital, my father had own life saved in 2008, thank to a special group of doctors. Still thank you. From Italy

Easily accessible. From train station Kent Ridge straight to the hospital. Shopping mall next to it. Lots of eating places.
Clean toilets. Spacious

my experience at NUH was very good. By doctor was always very happy to see me every appointment. The nurses are kind too. My doctor was a funny person and I like him alot. However, now I'm seeing a different doctor which is quite sad :(

No mobile data signal. Do not attempt to get out of here in a hurry. Especially from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. I have reported weak signal strength to Singtel Customer Care. Spent approximately 21/2h n no improvement in situation.
Faculty of Dentistry post graduate doctors are excellent and Dental Clinic also get top marks.

Daniel Tran (18/06/2016 11:01)
With the new Kent Ridge MRT, the hospital is now well connected and better accessible. Within the MRT station, there are F&B outlets, convenience stores, and even a Uniqlo outlet.

Khoon Wah Low (15/05/2016 14:29)
Expect extremely long waiting times at the accident and emergency room department. Wards are hard to come by and I have waited up to 14 hours for a bed. But the specialist clinics are wonderful.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster (13/05/2016 02:36)
Horrible driving here. Poor Google maps and waze support. The place itself is ok I guess

Niklas S (19/03/2016 18:50)
- Most procedures are overpriced and fluctuating in price heavily.
- Not very attentive email support.
- They are not frank about the costs before showing you the actual invoice.
- Operation failed for (success rate is normally 80%).
+ Clean facilities.
+ Doctor was good at listening and explaining.
