I have only one day visiting during the Singapore trip.

this is absolutely the good place highly recommended for people to read a book and concentrate without suffering from any other noisy chatting unpleasure sound disturbance.

from my observation, most of the people who come here to use this place quite always respect the regulation and avoid disturbing each other, speak very softly to each other.

this kind of gentle manner is quite difficult to find in some other societies (base on my own experience).

Honestly, this is very big surprised, impressive and amazing for the outsider person like me,

I might say this is the best library in Singapore. It has complete collection of books from different category. Not only books, there are many different kind of magazine and newspaper. This library also have many foreign books, magazines, newspaper, etc.

Decent parking. Good kid's section. Nice quiet place to come in the afternoons for a good read.

Shankar Rajasekharan (22/04/2018 05:10)
This is the main National Library. The basement has the books for borrowing. The children’s section has a treehouse designed with wood and recycled plastic. The treehouse looks colourful and children love playing and reading there.

This library has a good collection of books for both adults and children alike. The reference library also has a great collection of books

My favourite study spot in Singapore. Got a diverse collection of books and water cooler.

I love library especially great ones. This is a library which I can spend a whole day while enjoying every moments. Numerous quality books here for you to read. Admission is freije to locals or tourists.

They would check your bag if you enter the reference library on 7th floor. I don't know what that's for. Preventing thiefs from stealing books? Actually this is the only times my bags was checked in Singapore. I'm glad that Singaporeans don't check bags so often like the Filipinos anyway!

This is good place to calm myself down:) able to concentrate on study!
There’s a kids area so that you can give your child a good opportunity to read in a quiet place and learn together;)
It also have an event for the Singapore resident sometimes so it’s better to check the notice when you visit here or website;)

*to use the nursing room, you need to inform the staff to unlock:)

The best public library in Singapore. Trust me, I’ve went all the public library in Sg, but none of the library beat this library!

This national library has access from 7th to 11th floor with huge space of desks and a lot of books.

It is very quite and no kids making noise too! Perfect for those for are looking for serious study or soloprenuer like me.

World Class Library, multipurpose building with Arts companies, exhibitions and the like. Wonderful views. A beautiful resource for locals and those from abroad to enjoy! kudos to the staff and team

Mohammad Amir (21/11/2017 14:57)

A very good public library. A good selection of comic book. Who knew comics are readily available in a public library

Pei Lin Lim (28/09/2017 03:19)
I love this library. It is huge, well maintained, quiet and has a large selection of books and magazines.

sha vlogs (16/09/2017 03:15)
its a great place to study, quiet and silent. but if its during the peak times, the users tend to be noisy outside the study lounge as the study lounge is full.

alagu suthan (04/09/2017 03:44)
I love this place. They have so many books and articles related to business studies. their staffs are really helpful.

Hannah Bui (14/08/2017 12:37)
lovely peaceful building to relax and read tons of books. I wish I love reading more, but you can find quiet space here to do your own work

Louise YT Phua (31/07/2017 00:26)
A perennial favourite that is very well maintained. Most tourists are impressed by the efficiency & effectiveness. A portion of the red brick wall from the old library is retained for memory, in a sterile-looking building. Great location.

lucklife (20/06/2017 06:32)
Great variety of books as its the national library. I recommend staying away from going during weekends because the place is really crowded and you may not even get a seat

Elise Winn (01/06/2017 10:56)
Wow. This place is great! My daughter likes coming here and spend her days reading. Good place to spend the day with kids.

Andrea Bonanomi (21/05/2017 09:23)
The building is a modern jewel of architecture. Large spaces to read, study and stay. It has also a theatre inside, go and take a visit to its several floors

Samuel Hou (10/05/2017 05:41)
So this is the place to go for research gathering and literatures. The amount of materials they have are beyond imaginations. A really well ran place too with bag checks and constant reminders for noisy patrons. They do not deal with noise lightly which provides everyone with a conducive environment for their study. If you are here to revise for an exam or just a place to study, come at opening or you will find yourself without a seat and table in no time.

Surya Devan (08/05/2017 10:09)
There is a foolproof counter staff named Shamala manning a phone. Who has little common sense or courtesy to write a written complaint to Avert the oncoming tragedy that is befall as foretold by a discharged patient under the care of two shopkeepers and school vans. I give the national library service a poor service commendation. And demand to be compensated herewith.

Chang Zuhe (06/05/2017 03:58)
The building is damn big with a lot of collection of books. I love it all and the environment is quite and clean

Katia Sorokina (11/04/2017 10:50)
This building is so big, I've only been to the 9th floor but it is the best place to study. Everybody is focused and there is no noise, you can hear the flies haha. However, it can be crowded especially on weekends...so if you want to have a spot you'd better come early. But anyway it's my go to place when I need to study!
PS: if you manage to sit next to the windows the view is amazing!

Samuel Edyson (09/04/2017 16:13)
The best public library. Used to come here alot. Didn't know that schools & universities can host graduation / exhibition events here too. Lots of cozy seatings, but must stay quiet and not be noisy. This is not a suitable place for group work.

Maulana Nurhadi (16/03/2017 13:31)
Really love this place! They have variety of books, from fiction to reference. You can find almost every topics / subjects here. I wish I can spend more time in this library in Singapore.

Keith Carter (05/03/2017 07:39)
Simply one of the best libraries in the world. Fantastic resources on South East Asia.

Zac Phan (27/02/2017 15:31)
Awesome place for catching up on your reading 📖 or doing your academic revision or projects!

Clara Jennings (06/02/2017 07:54)
Really enjoyed exploring the place as a tourist. Wandered to the 14th floor to check out the view and perused the basement public library. The kid's section is adorable!

Sylvia Wardhani (29/12/2016 22:10)
I came here once with the kids, and was offered a kids corner, which very huge. It has a so-called tree house to able kids enjoy reading. Their collections varied from board books to the books for teenager. Definitely will come again

Walkingjupiter (24/12/2016 01:32)
Huge collection of reference books
Place is well lit and perfect for reading. You can see the city through the glass window. There are a lot of people studying and motivating

Anggia Pithaloka (26/10/2016 14:35)
The best library I've ever been to. Scan and copy services available. The interior and ambience inside were so nice. Been to the LKC Reference Library and the collection is quite complete for me.

Samantha Chan (18/10/2016 15:38)
The biggest and best library in SG, one of my favourite places to go. The architecture and design of the building is beautiful. It's a great place to hangout, relax and browse through their wide selection of books. They have huge children's section at the basement level, reference libraries in the middle floors and a meeting space at the top floor with an amazing view. The building also has cafes (Han's cafe on the first level), free wifi, charging points, study areas etc.

Rei Lim (18/10/2016 06:03)
Love the large collection of books and resources. Spacious space for everyone to do their reading and studying. Place is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Veadra Duchaine (21/09/2016 05:23)
There is a study room on the 5th floor with free wifi, all you need is a Singapore phone number. Beautiful modern building and nice library.

Jonathan Cheng (27/07/2016 08:22)
Excellent facility in central location. Really appreciated the following:
1. free wifi
2. well stocked with newspapers
3. big children's area
4. access to rare/ offprint books (can't takeaway but can refer)
5. Han's coffeeshop just outside
6. big atrium
Worth a visit.

How do you increase the value of your comic book series?
Notice the beautifully integrated display of pictures on the book spine of the encyclopaedia on display on the shelf?
Answer: Yes. It is beautiful.

To sell comic books better; create an art piece (picture) on the book spine of the comic book that requires the purchase of several titles to form an image instead of having one picture on each title.

Would that encourage readers to keep on buying more comic books?
Answer: Yes.

Would that make keeping and displaying comic books on your shelf aesthetically pleasing and would impress your friends?
Answer: Yes.

Benefits / Opportunities:
1) Generate Collectors interest from a visual way instantly (from looking at the book spine)
2) The collection of the comic series is an art piece by itself when placed on the shelves (looking at the art on the book spine)
3) Low cost and Low effort to implement
4) Creates curiosity and desire to purchase next title
5) There is no patent as you can design your art
6) If It works in the sale of the encyclopaedia in the photo A, there must be research, reasoning and justification done before the manufacturing of the encyclopaedia.-------------Improve Library Books Borrowing Time

A great place to sit and work (if you can find a spot). Very quiet, and has plugs to charge your laptop. Wifi is free but very slow. Great views all around. Collection of books is very good.

André S. (10/06/2016 03:23)
Great place to work and study! Lots of space and interesting literature. The business and economic department even offers a Bloomberg Terminal.

Christine Foo (31/05/2016 10:46)
The theatre was a fantastic one! I went there with my YMCA student care to see the Act 3 Love Awake Orchestra! The stage was really good ans the air con was cooling and nice! I can relax there! Best and biggest library in my life i've ever seen! SUPER! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Nathaniel Ng Li Wen, (21/05/2016 01:36)
The largest library in Singapore and a great place to study or read a book. Plenty of places to sit down, though power points might be a little scarce. I'd advice bring an adapter if you intend to use the computer. There is wifi here too!
