Review on their cakes.

I bought around 5 of their cakes, some are hits, some are misses. One particular cake taste resembled the typical spongy cake you could buy from neighbourhood shop, but at hipster cafe pricing. Generally it's good, but I dont think it matches the level of other premium cafe offering.

Average coffee - probably too much roasting making a bit bitter. Ambience and staff were great. But surely a cafe in neighbourhood which has lack of these. if I rate on cappuccino index which is based on bean quality, espresso shot and frothing across the coffees I have had CapIndex = 6/10. espresso shot had that end bitterness.

Good portion sizes for the price and very friendly staff! :) I would recommend the Eggs Benedict with pulled pork and avocado, and also the honey apple cake with the vanilla ice cream - we will definitely be going back. Give it a try if you haven't already!

Had their cheese fries and wings which were good. The brownie dessert was just okay. But what I really love about the place is the ambiance and the fact that some of their tables are converted old sewing machines, the foot cranked kind! Awesome!

Casual hang out place with friends and family. Atmosphere is cozy. Their signature dish is honey paprika wings, a must-order dish for chicken wing lovers. Honey and paprika taste blended so well together! The crab and prawn linguine is nice, seafood is fresh! Coffee and beer also served too.

Go a little early on weekends so that it's easier to find a table. Food is Great! I had the croissant breakfast and love it totally! The mango tango hot tea is as per picture, pretty normal. I will try some other drinks the next time. The portion is huge for me too!

Good vibe. Service quick despite crowd. Very moreish cheese and paprika fries real pleaser. Fish & chips well done while Burger was very mediocre. Good coffee. Maybe it was the crowd but server forgot my dessert, which was a pity. Credit cards not accepted.

I went there during my visit from Malaysia. I absolutely love the food! The chefs are extremely skilled and talented. The food my friends and I ate were absolutely amazing.

Although we had to wait outside for a while since the place was packed, (We all know why) it was definitely worth the wait. I would love to go there again the next time I visit Singapore.

Food is decent with table service. This place is usually crowded and packed. However, the prices tend to be on the steeper side for the type of dishes. I would not consider this a place as value for money. Ambience is alright even though the small and crowded space gets to me. This place is suitable for the occasion date but not a frequent occurrence.

Went there to attempt a quick coffee and cake at 8 pm prior to movie but was met by staff whom checked with manager to see if we would be permitted to sit. They had closed side where cakes were sold. I said I would be really quick but that didn't matter. We moved next door to find seat and sat at only vacant spot but then was met by someone saying table was reserved. We said we would be really quick and just wanted coffee and a choc tart each. The coffees came out cold and we asked for sugar and waited for ten minutes for the tarts thinking why were they rushing us if they took that long to put a tart on a plate. We ate and left as soon as we could. The manager was the fault, young and inconsiderate and ironically opened up the area he said we were not permitted to sit to allow another group to sit. Seemed very inequitable. I will make sure i just takeaway from there as I do like the cakes. Just the managerial style of service leaves a sour taste so won't go back

There's designated time for Lunch (till 3pm) and Dinner (from 6pm). Thus, if you're heading down for lunch or dinner, do make sure you go within those timeslots. Otherwise, you can choose items from their Small Bites and Desserts.

I would think that most people do go there for their deserts because it's real yummy. This is the second time I've been there and their dessert has not failed me.

Not that impressed with their pasta though. Most people are more impressed with their pull-pork. I'll reserve that for the next time.

I love the nacho fries. My friends were fond of the linguine and salmon salad. My mashed potato dish and coffee were decent but not stellar. I would recommend for gatherings as the cake selection is good, place is spacious and seating is comfy

Good coffee and excellent food. Dropped 1 star from my initial review after my latest visit, because of the crowd. Expect long waits on weekends, and noise all the time. It attracts a trendy younger crowd, who visit in packs of 3, 4 or more. The cafe is constantly buzzing with loud group conversations, punctuated by occasional bursts of shrill laughter. My wife and I could barely get our words across the table without raising our voices, and inadvertently contributing to the noise. The redeeming quality during our visit was the service - staff were extremely polite and accommodating. One of them took the effort to bring a chair with backing, AND a pillow, for my heavily pregnant wife. 4 stars for Lola, 5 for her (short gal, with short hair - wish we got her name)

Disagreed with most of the comments here. A long wait and the staff are unfriendly. The food portion is ridiculously small as well.

A nice zesty start of my day.. with a flat white. Surprisingly busy for a weekday. Nice and attentive staff who offers to turn up the a/c cos I came right from my morning workout! 👍

Super friendly and warm staff. Serving of food is also big enough to share. Love this place!! (:

George Lee (06/07/2017 17:42)
I had the braised pork with truffle mashed potatoes. Took a little while to be served and it was worth the wait. Will definitely return for more.

Janice (04/07/2017 12:54)
Super good food and desserts. Couldn't have asked for more
Try their
Breakfast - ultimate crossiant; crab cake eggs benedict (SUPERB)
Lunch/dinner - crab pasta
Desserts - anything on the menu should be good

Great find in the neighbourhood and will definitely return

Candyse Yip (03/07/2017 06:34)

Nice place for desserts! Dinner menu i dont really like. Croissant (brunch) was good and chicken salad. Friendly & helpful service staffs. Long wait during peak hours.

A small but busy cafe with tasty food options. Wait time can be long during weekend lunch. The wings and fry were quite good! Their juices sounded very tasty on the menu but was disappointed they were bottled ones.

Not taking credit cards? Not letting me know before? We're in 2017 in one of the most advanced country on earth ....

Zhong Heng (24/04/2017 11:33)
Very good food! But price is a bit higher than average. The chicken wings here are superb, with honey and paprika powder, and seriously crispy!

Shirley Odelia (23/04/2017 10:06)
Great service, chill vibe, great food, prices reflected include GST and service charge

Grace Koh (04/04/2017 09:18)
Hasn't went to lola in months and realised that they slightly increased the price. Even with the increased price, it was still awesome food and pocket friendly price. Strongly recommend the wings. Do take note that they do not serve brunch food strictly after 3pm. Went there around 2.30pm for the brunch with no Q at all, strategic timing to go.

Zach Loh (23/01/2017 05:57)
The food is decent and price price is normal as other cafes. It is usually busy so best don't go at peak hours since they open till late. Worth it to go and try their food but there are many other great tasting food around the area if they are really crowded.

Verine Ling (19/01/2017 17:24)
Good food with great ambience. Especially love their paprika honey wings. Do note that parking can be a bit of a hassle though!

Harry Lee (14/01/2017 07:41)
It is OK. The first cafe, kinda, in the Hougang area. Always packed. Difficult to get parking. So I don't go there often. Can't even stop the car for a while to do a coffee pick-up.

Terence Lee (18/12/2016 05:46)
The food came really quickly despite the crowd and it was beyond expectations! Coffee and food was amazing especially the wings.

The cakes need a lot more improvement though, it lacks the moist.

Pierre Chassaing (08/10/2016 15:18)
My burger was tasty - nice brioche bun and decent amount of meat and fries. Pork stew was OK albeit not particularly flavorful. Prices are very reasonable, but room is somewhat noisy. Expect to wait to get seated as the place seems super popular even on weekdays.

Ong Boon Guan (29/10/2016 04:11)
Awesome food! Reasonable price and very helpful and polite staff.

I'll be back soon again 😄

Su-Min Lim (25/10/2016 08:30)
My 2nd visit here N the food is nice! The coffee also has quality! Reasonably priced food for a cosy ambience! Worth it!

Wend Tan (18/10/2016 12:07)
Had 1 serving of eggs Benedict and honey wings and tart(which added up to around $20). Steep, but taste good. One and only time I would step in. Small space and noisy (all hard surface), difficult to have a relaxed conversation.

Joshua Kow (27/09/2016 02:16)
Great place to chill out with some desserts and beer, conveniently located 3 minutes away from Kovan MRT Station. Highly recommend their Seasalt Chocolate Tart with Coffee Cream!

Kenn Tan (02/07/2016 17:17)
Charming place, tasty chicken wings, nice beer selection. Lack of car parks.

Namdev Sachathep (28/06/2016 18:29)
Great cafe in the heartlands, little choice but well made and diverse. Coffee is adequate.

Ian Lee (17/05/2016 09:47)
Great selection of food and very accessible via public transport. I had the bangers and mash, which was very well done. Service staff could be quicker, but were very polite.

Caleb Liu (05/04/2016 05:56)
A lovely little cafe that serves pretty decent food. Great place for a beer or coffee. It can get really crowded especially on the weekends.
