Nurses & administrative staff can't speak & converse in English language. Nurses need to improve their blood taking skill seriously.

At A&E, experience staff let a new trainee to do the poking for drip. End up, it become so un-tidy and it seems like coming off anytime, and also very expansive hospital

The registration is so slow. Front desk staff is so proud of themself. No smile at all. After registration you have to go to nurse assessment that are freaking slow. And there is no privilege for disable patient. Wake up KPJ JB!!..Improve your service u are not gov hospital, u r a private hospital. anyone please go to other hospital rather than kpj jb.

Good hospital for student to archive cross and contact hours , and ward staff need to more skillful , knowledgeable and good team work for every work.

Daughter have high grade fever >40 C at night while we are in JB at night. Arrived at A&E with no triage!!! Was asked to register at the counter first. I kept asking is there is a triage to be done. But none. Was asked to register and wait to be called for TRiAGE!! Checked the process flow on the wall - as with many basic A&E, triage first. Another zoning showed fever with >40 is considered yellow zone! But how to determine who to call in when there is no triage?!!! One reluctant admin clerk at the desk determining the speed of treatment in A&E?!!! While I am not saying my daughter deserves immediate attention but at least triage it first! That is why I am at the A&E!! Come on KPJ you are falling behind your SOP!

Registration, triage and time to wait for pediatrician was less than 30 minutes. Doctor Muhammad Khaider was experienced, knowledgeable and gave us medicines that yielded results for our sons eczema. Highly recommend him. Pharmacy and bill pay process was also very fast. Not sure about other doctors or services here,

This hospital has very irresponsible Drs. I asked about the reason of my problem and she answered "check it on internet, i m not here to answer you". why even i pay for appointment thn and waited so long to visit a dr, i could just check it online? And when i complained ths matter to hospital, they also were irresponsible. I felt if u hav surgery thr, most probably u die with all these irresponsible drs and staff there.

Came at 4am. Nurse at the reception was quite rude. Bed sheet has black stains like someone wore shoes and stepped all over the sheets. Doctor came and looks like she just woke up. Was mumbling the while time and was not knowledgeable at all. We had to be the one asking her questions instead.

The nurses need to be train to be responsible for all the calls by the patients. Call for assistance by patients can be blatantly ignored by the nurses whom keep on chit chatting like going to night market. Blatantly untrained nurses unlike SDMC or Columbia Asia nurses whom will rush to attend to the calls after more than 3 minutes call went unattended almost immediately. Noticed until one relatives have to come out from the ward room to call the nurses personally. This happened due to no special audit being done by the management or weak enforcement to ensure quality and good services. We pay you for the services not for you guys to talk and doing nothing. If I am allowed to put ZERO star, for sure I give them ZERO star for their "excellent service"!! Sucks!!

The best service hospital in Johor Bahru. The best team of doctors here especially Dr Syed Mohd Adeeb, the Cardiothoracic surgeon. He is a very friendly, talented and caring doctor. He always make sure I'm ok, never miss a day even though he's so busy. Amazing, wonderful, helpful and caring nurses in the ICU and ward at Level 4 & 5. I was cared for and treated very well during my 4 1/2 days stay in this hospital. Thank you to Dr Adeeb, Dr Richard, Dr Goh, Dr Natasha, Dr Sanveer, all the nurses and one of the physiotherapist at KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital!!!👍👍👍

My mum was admitted to the hospital post stroke. No detail explanation on the condition, cause, treatment and etc. Doctor is very impatient in answering our queries. Nurses were always busy and irresponsive. A simple request could take up to an hour to respond. During a recent check up, the medicine (charged) we received is apparently a sample with mark 'not for sales'.
I do amaze by the efficiency of their finance department. Payment request is always on time and total bill is always up to date.

My elderly father was admitted to Johor Specialist Hospital ("KPJ") in late April 2017 for congestive heart failure and was transferred to Tan Tock Seng Hospital ("TTSH") in Singapore ten days later. This review attempts to objectively compare the level of care and service we received at KPJ and TTSH.
Nursing care
Nurses at KPJ could not have cared less - my dad developed open wounds during his stay and the nurses did not bother cleaning his wounds, which led to secondary infections. In addition, the KPJ nurses used basic sterile gauze and adhesive tape to cover his wound which resulted in tearing of his skin each time he had his dressing replaced.
In contrast, nurses at TTSH were patient and hardworking and rendered a high standard of care. My dad was showered everyday with anti-microbial wash lotion despite his loss of mobility (as contrast to bed sponging at KPJ) and TTSH nurses would use Jellonet and Mepilex (non-adhesive dressings) to cover his wounds after the shower. TTSH nurses were also very responsive and help came quickly whenever needed.
Financials
Upon dad's admission at KPJ, the family was asked to pay a deposit of RM7,000. The hospital would continuously asking for more money over the next few days (total bill came up to c.RM31,000 for a ten day stay without any surgery). Naturally, I was concerned with the cost escalation and requested for a detailed breakdown of the medical fee. KPJ refused and said they could only provide a detailed, itemised bill at the point of discharge. When I challenged the cashier if they would overcharged, I was plainly told "you just have to assume we will not overcharge you".
On the day of dad's transfer to TTSH, given Maybank's online banking limit, I was unable to pay off the entire bill at one go and had an outstanding bill of RM4,000. KPJ refused to discharge him until we pay off the outstanding bill (does not matter if a life is in danger).
Over at TTSH, the family was provided financial counselling upon dad's admission. For instance, we were told of the expected costs for a foreigner seeking treatment (the total bill, which amounted to S$38,000 for a 41-day stay, came close to what was estimated at admission). While we did pay a S$2,200 deposit upon dad's admission, TTSH did not harass us for more money throughout his 41-day stay. TTSH also provided detailed, itemised billing whenever requested.
Conclusion
I could go on comparing the level of care rendered by KPJ and TTSH but decided to stop here given the length of the review. I hope the review would provide thoughtful insights into the two hospitals and help patients make a better decision. My family's experience has shown that KPJ is just a money-grubbing company which does not give much thought into providing quality medical care. If one can afford private medical care in JB, he/she may be better off seeking medical treatment at TTSH in Singapore.

Travelled from Singapore to get discounted health screening. The hospital has 50 doctors and all the latest equipment. The staff were helpful in finding the right clinic for each test that was included in the bundle package. It was value for money!

Seriously poor service ,all nurses in emergency taking things lightly, doctor isn't efficient and zero punctuality , I highly discourage patient to be admitted this hospital. All the nurses just chatting loudly without even bothering patient privacy and peace. It's once and last for me.

VERY VERY POOR SERVICE‼️‼️
Poor service high charges!!!
Let the patients keep waiting in wad and every department didn't get the good communication to each other. Keep pushing the problem to insurance agent but actually insurance there nothing problem! So who have to take the responsibility to let the patients waiting?Other Specialist Hospital waiting for 30mins transfer patient to ward but they let patient lying on emergency area for 3hours without doing anything!!
NURSES are always found chatting lounder and gossip about patients privacy issues at the front desk!No matter how u told them patient was very uncomfortable and painful, they never care about you and ask you wait! The medicine and the food put on the tray, even patient haven finish eat also they take off all !
They don't allow husband to stand overnight coz they said in hospital have a lot of nurse help to take care patients, okay it's fine but when you need their help and press the 'RED' button and you will probably get a response 30mins later or more.Even nurses come to the room, their ATTITUDES was vry bad and give you black face!
Anyway,This is my 1st and also will be my last time had bad experience in this suck hospital!
Hunger with money and poor performance, management very lousy and slow even do a lot of complaints also same problems never solve it!!
AVOID this hospital choose other hospital ❗️

Let the patients keep waiting in wad and every department didn't get the good communication to each other. Keep pushing the problem to insurance agent and clinic doctor but actually insurance there nothing problem and clinic doctor already done to do GL letter. So who have to take the responsibility to let the patients waiting? Please solve the problem as above.

I brought my 7months old son today to see the orthopedic doctor today. My son had a broken thigh and had to follow-up the following day which is today. I was very upset when first priority was not given to my son after informing 3 times at the counter. The third time my hubby shouted cause my son is in terrible pain. After shouting only the nurse brought my son to the emergency room. Every hospital they will take special care especially for the elderly and babies. I was very disappointed. My son can't talk to say what is wrong with him. Hope the next check up he will be given priority. Im very upset and annoyed. Hope in future they give priority to babies. Even government hospital they do give priority. Hope the management notes this and make the changes.

Very very poor service except good doctor. Nurses was standing there for chit chat. No matter how u told them patient was very uncomfortable and the medicine serve time was over they will only keep asking u to wait! Wait! And wait!!

High charges but poor services except for the good Doctor. My hand was swollen when the nurse inserted the tube. Two Inexperienced nurses took my blood test and my left hand was covered with 3 plasters. The third nurse did it once successfully.Waited few hours for admission and for my operation. The nurse even forged my signature in my discharge checklist and summary.Unexpected. Thumb up for Dr.Abraham who did the successful ERCP operation for me.

This is THE WORST hospital you can send your loved ones to.
You have doctors who refuse to see patients and prefer to diagnose from the nurse's counter but cost you $500 every time he puts pen to paper.
In Johor you now have the option to go to Gleneagles. If they are as good as the Ampang Gleneagles in Kuala Lumpur then they have a patient-first approach, more prudent (not rushing to cut people up), and more evidence-based than any other hospital.

ENT clinic (Doc Ravindran) is claimed open at 830am and appointment was made, but until 1030am still haven't see his shadow yet. Now I'm not sure this is public or private hospital with this kind of lousy service!! More than 10 patients were waiting the whole morning, what a waste of time!!!
Brigette Then (11/02/2016 13:49)
More corporate and cold as time went. More staff, newer equipments yet slower than ever. Paid tests aren't emailed as promised. Call back is a hit or miss from the hospital administration. They do know other big boys are coming in/already in for a piece of JB's market, right?

A hospital hunger with money and poor performance. Had bad experience on the cancer screening procedure. We have sent my dad to the hospital for cancer screening. We told the person in charge we want to know the cancer stages. After the initial testing, we come to collect result after 1 week, nurse told that need to paid another RM2000plus to know the cancer stages. We paid it but have to wait 3 weeks to receive the result. Due to result is slow and my dad cannot wait anymore, he is admitted to general hospital Sultan Ismail in Johor Bahru where Doctor issued letter to KPJ specialist to get the result but result is still pending.
My sister do comment that results is slow to KPJ person in charge. Their answer is Lab is doing the test not the hospital.
WE paid such a hugh amount and get such answer.
SERIOUSLY, avoid this hospital choose other hospital. This hospital want MONEY only. 1) Poor Service, 2) SLOW RESPONSE TIME 3) EXPENSE FEES.
A big NO NO to this hospital. Hospital performance equivalent to Government hospital. If u have choice go to Kuala Lumpur hospital or Singapore. Johor private hospital is not up to standard yet.
