Small but worth a visit. Although the museum's primary focus is on local Chinese heritage it also includes plenty of artifacts and history relating to Johor Bahru in general.

Good place to spend an hour to learn more about the story of Chinese immigration and contributions in Johore. Had an interesting exhibition on pepper and Gambier production. Finally understood the origin of the "Kang" eg in Lim Chu Kang

This is a great place to visit if you are in Johor Bahru. For admission, visitors are charged RM5 for adults while RM3 for children. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and closed on Mondays.
This 3 storey building houses a variety of interesting collection and exhibitions regarding the development of the Chinese community as well as the history of the state of Johore in general.

Rear entrance backs onto the street that is Chinatown. Saturday evenings transformed into dance and entertainment. Some excellent places to eat!

What a fine job they did on maximizing the space for this museum. 3 floors of museum dedicated only in chinese heritage and history just made my day. Do not skip this place if you're in Johor Bahru.

Tells about the history of the Chinese in the area. Nothing really stands out as remarkable, but they try to do a decent job.

A quaint museum with a set of well curated artefacts and multimedia exhibits. A must-visit if you are in the area and need a rest from eating. Costs 6 ringgit per entry and it has three storeys of exhibits.

A very well-done mini museum documenting history of Chinese immigrants in Johor under the kangcu system and for plantation of gambier. I am pleasantly surprised with the depth they go. At the ticketing counter, they sell books about Johorean Chinese history, all of which are quite interesting. It is worth a short trip (about 1 hour). There are a few cafes and traditional Kopitiam nearby. Do take note that parking can be ridiculously hard to find.
