Best place to take children. The play areas here are very good. Being under the shade of trees, the tree house play area situated on a sand pit makes for a perfect place to play even on a very sunny afternoon. The thematic gardens are nice

A delightful place for children and adults alike! A new animated bridge entrance, skylight that casts interesting shadows at the new lobby, various surprising enclave of play areas, the revamped design by ZARCH blends nature into the overall spatial design and create unique experience for visitors. Great for family outing!

For both great play time as well as a learning experience about nature, a visit to the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is a must.
With everything from sand pit, water play area, slides, swings, trampoline and tree house, this Garden has all the elements of sensory play which the children will love. All play areas are well-maintained and safe.
The garden has a variety of themed mini-gardens housed within which helps the children to learn all about the different natural botanic areas present like orchard, forest, farm, water plants, etc.
The tree house play area offers a nice sheltered play area under the natural shade of trees making it the perfect getaway on a sunny afternoon. It's sure to keep the kids occupied for hours away from TV.

My 2yr old loves running around here. Sand pit, water play, nature trails with miniature suspension bridge, elevated walk ways and viewing platforms. Small cafe/ food court for drinks and snacks. Free entry for all who are accompanied by children - adults without children not allowed entry. Kids can play freely just no scooters or bikes allowed. Only negative is limited shade on water and sand areas .
Opening hours: 8.00am to 7.00pm (last admission at 6.30pm). Closed on Mondays (except when Monday falls on a designated public holiday)

Good place for kids to play around. Got a water flash and kids spend most of their time there. But food options are less

A great place to bring the kids! Many different area for them to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Bring along extra clothes for the little ones as there is a waterplay area near the entrance (can't be missed!) and the kids will dash for that everytime!

Jacob Ballas Children Garden has just been renovated and now has a flying fox a trampoline and a obstacle-course-like play area. Kids are guaranteed to enjoy their experience there. Adults who are following their children can enjoy the scenery and flowers there while waiting for their children to tire of playing on the flying fox. There is a café which sells coffee and other drinks along with some food to fill your stomach. This children garden is also connected to the Singapore Botanic Gardens and is quite big. Make sure to bring your kids here and enjoy yourself!

It has water play area and sand play area. Trees prevent us from the strong sunshine. Nice place to play for 1yrs and above:)!
I wish to have a cafe or restaurant near by this area for rest but you can bring some snacks to eat on the bench... it’s like a picnic and also good:)

Jacob Ballas has been renovated with plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. This is more suitable for younger kids, below 12. There is a new zipline supervise during certain times by park staffs to ensure safety. The range of trees are amazing, you will learn so many things just by reading the name of trees and their explanations.
During our visit the water play area is closed for maintenance. The sand play area and tree house with slides are available. The rope bridge is always fun for the kids to try out.

DO NOT VISIT if your are not bringing a child. According to the staff managing the entrance, is their POLICY. No Children, No Entry.

It is very fun! Have tree house, flying fox and many more! !!

Already a decent space for young Children to play quietly away from the crowds, the new Jacob Ballas extension adds new energy to this Children's park.
Education and excitement are on offer. Learn to grow seeds on the Ed side; assault course suitable for 3 and up on the Ex side.
Highly recommended if you have children under 10.
Avoid the very long bridge to nowhere, which ends up at a patch of concrete. I think this is for schools to host classroom events.

*Banyan Tree started when d founder & his wife came across a plot of land while they were on holiday in Bang Tao Bay, on d western coast of Phuket in d Andaman Sea & thougit would make an ideal location for a resort :) they purchased d land & then discovered that it was an abandoned tin mine & too yoxic to support vegetation or any developments :) they embarked on a regeneration programme, reintroducing indigenous plants & building 7k trees 10 yrs later in 1994, d 1st resort Bayan Tree Phuket was built :)

Good play area and garden for kids, I could see construction going on to expand the space, should be even after that..

Lots of variety and fun for kids to play. Bring a change of clothes for the water fun.

Beautiful gardens, well maintained with a huge variety of flora. So much for kids to learn about and explore even though a large portion was fenced off for renovation/construction. Very helpful staff who were kind enough to order a taxi as we were leaving
Jade Wong (22/04/2017 09:15)
Tree house, playground etc are opened. The renovation is mainly at the entrance. Still a lot of places for the kids. Nice place for family.

Great place for children: sand pits with digger, small water playground, tree house, little gardens, tiny hills. Most places are under tree shade, so it's quite cooling even in hot days.

A very nice place to let the Children run loose all over

Excellent wilderness education - all for free. Love the pirate ship playground, the maze and the wobbly bridge. A real shame you can't bring in scooters though.
Tash S (06/12/2016 10:14)
BEWARE!!! Under renovation! Only 10% of it is open!!! Don't bother going until it is finished.
Complete waste of time getting there while there is nothing to do. Don't follow the signs as they purposely take you the long way around, and with two kids restless for a playground they were exhausted after the 1km walk from the train station!! It says 500m but most of it has a huge construction fence around it so it takes ages to walk to the one open gate.
It has one tiny water part with about 4 sprayers, an big empty sandpit with one digger, a maze full of mud and one cool tree house thing with two slides. But the 2 slides were definitely NOT worth the trip!
Do not bother a visit until it is finished.

This place was a lifesaver when we first moved to Singapore with a 2yo. Safe, friendly and contained, it's big enough for a child to feel they have a great little world to explore without being overwhelming and with only one way in and out it's hard to lose them. The cafe staff are friendly and welcoming always and the gardens staff go out of their way to provide activity stuff and information for older kids who want more structure to the experience

Love this place. Our five year old always has a ball. The treehouse slide the highlight, although so many things to do. Don't miss balancing on the log to cross the creek!
Ieva Sadauskaite (15/09/2016 07:15)
Great place, but they provided the wrong address. It took me an hour with a child in a car to figure out, that address is wrong. It's 1H Cluny road, 259604.
Tay Jason (13/09/2016 14:12)
Great place to bring children to. Has a decent sized playground and also a treehouse.

You can only get in if you bring a kid with you. Educational and fun
Gjay Martinez (05/06/2016 09:16)
Such a nice place for kids. There are a lot of playground choices. Foods are not allowed inside. If you happen to bring food with you for a picnic, there are cottages/shelters available at the botanical garden adjacent to it. Do not let your children feed the turtles as i have experienced first ha d children getting bitten while feeding them.

Great garden opened by an ex St Andrews boy!

Singapore has always been a city good with kids. Loads of things to do and explore. One of them is the Jacob Ballas Children's Playground at the Botanic Gardens. Entry is free but you will need to be accompanied by a child to enter! There's a huge maze, water play area, a large tree house to give those little children space to explore. The Singapore Botanic Gardens was just inscribed into UNESCO's World Heritage Site last month, a first for Singapore.
