I've been at ISS for 6 years and I can honestly say that there are great teachers and a good education system. Nice, small and wholesome.
Are the facilities and school buildings dodgy? Yes.
Does climbing a bunch of stairs every morning to make a skinny boy like me "fit" help? No.
Will the food at the canteen give you cancer when you're 40? Probably (Pack your own lunch)
But guess what? I love it. It's a great place, with a community so tightly knit I pretty much know everyone there. The teachers can more easily manage the number of students in their class and can devote more attention if one needs extra time learning a topic, or more work from the teacher.
ISS can be comparable to the back alley you played street football in during your childhood; it's grim, damp, ugly and a little bit chaotic, but at the end of the day, you loved it and wouldn't have it any other way.

My kids have been in this school since they are grade 3, now one had graduate last year and the school had been great all along for him. As for his sister since this year the school had been going down the hill. They lost lots of the good teachers whom my son will be always greatfull had helped him through the though IB years. Now the school not only worries me about the standard of education, but safety reason in the shool had been a problem. Lots of lost wallets, theft in the school that make students came in school with padlocks for their bags because the school is not taking any actions after students complained that their wallets had been stolen. They just tried to let it go and blame it on the student and not even try to find the culprit. please just check the school out before you enroll. I had been dissapointed since last year and it fell on the most critical year for my daughter.
