My experience with Hwa Chong was really fun and memorable. Just like one of the college songs, my peers and I went thru a lot together, and the days at Hwa Chong is something that we all dearly miss.

Hwa Chong's peaceful environment is an understatement. What it matters is that they have a very free, lively and vibrant culture which is intrinsic since its founding years, and almost impossible to replicate at any other junior colleges. The feeling of comfort is to the extent that an outsider can feel a very strong sense of joy and inclusiveness at a public event there. The people are very welcoming and understanding, not to mention my best friendships were forged there. Despite not being part of the family, Hwa Chong does have a special place in my heart as well.

I entered Hwa Chong Institution (College) (also called Hwa Chong Junior College) a few years back. Hwa Chong is fun besides its demanding academic standards, particularly the SODACHE culture (which is a Hwa Chong term for Song-Dance-Cheer). In faculties we get to perform during events such as the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, which is open to public where many of the seniors will come back and join in the fun. It captures the essence of the spirit of the school. That immersive and inclusive culture was what that made me applied for Hwa Chong as my first option, and it was rewarding.

My 2 years at Hwach was fun, but to be very truthful its alot tougher than the "face" u have for entering the college. Coz u r in the top JC people are very demanding of you so had to put in much more effort (at least for me as I wasn't anywhere smarter than the rest of the people I met there). It abit like a small fish in a pool of big fish. But u will meet great friends there. (One thing no point appealing in if you are enrolled in those top few JCs like NYJC or NJC, its quite similar to my observation, we face the same stuff :w)
