Hotel Fort Canning is a cosy escape nestled in the heart of the city. The ambience is very laid back and relaxed - you might even temporarily forget that you're in Singapore. The restaurant at the hotel, The Salon, provides delicious food as well - both local and western, as well as very value-for-money set meals.

I attended a professional banquet here in one of the ballrooms. The facility was in good shape with attentive service staff. The food was good. We were served a multicourse Chinese dinner.

Awesome hotel with garden view. Love the deep soaking bath tub. Nice and friendly staff. Free WiFi. The hotel even offer a shower place after we check out, so that we can refresh ourself before we take late evening flight.

Very nice ambience. Very friendly staff. Love the idea of a hotel in the forest. Keep it up!

Located in a beautiful park with lots of greenery and walking paths. Also a central location in the city. Friendly and helpful staff. Beyond that there is not much else to rave about. Food was very ordinary, the rooms were small and overly complicated with electronic controls for lights and blinds. The automatic open/close bathroom door was so annoying that we had to call maint. to come make it manual. One light in the bedroom refused to turn off and even the maint. team could not figure it out. There are better options in the city for the same rate.

Came here for a course which my church conducted. First things first, the building itself is incredible. Colonial style mansion turned into a hotel, in the middle of Fort canning Park. Beautiful luscious green all around, right smack in the middle of town. The conference rooms weren't half bad either. Great glass panel looking out to the city, green trees all round. The restaurant in the hotel was pretty excellent too. Food quality top notch and the buffet spread was pretty impressive! All in all a great experience and weekend spent in Fort canning hotel

I only mention about The Salon. They have variety of meals include South East Asian local food. Mainly western food such as pasta, sandwich, hamburger and salad. Both taste and presentation are great.
Because of wide range of the menu, here’s suitable for group meeting. I also recommend solo traveler or couples because atmosphere is relaxing and bit authentic. Business MTG as well.

It's my first time there. The hotel is located at the top of a hill with a great view and covered with much greenery in a quieter part of town. Away from the hustle and bustle traffic. Quaint place that and beautiful restaurant. Love the attention to the place and the attentive staff. Will definitely be back for more

Great hotel with quite ambience. It's a popular wedding venue given the air conditioned canopy. Very good backdrop and friendly staff too.
Amos Chow (28/11/2017 05:31)
Beautiful place. But was astonished that one night there was 5 wedding going on. And staff were very under trained drinks were not refilled, customers had no drinks and servers did not approach to ask. There was one server almost spill plate sauce on my friend.

I attended a wedding lunch at the Grand Marquee. It was a western menu and the food was great. I was most pleased with the waiters. They were proactive and polite. The dishes were cleared promptly when we were done yet they did not seem intrusive. The venue has a great atmosphere and the staff took great care of the bride and groom.

Hotel Fort Canning is luxurious and lovely. The service was excellent during our stay, which was sadly only for one night. It made for a perfect romantic finale to our vacation. The mix of colonial and modern decor emphasizes the feeling of comfort and relaxation. The grounds around the hotel are ideal for quiet exercise and jogging, or you can walk just a few blocks to the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hotel is situated on a hill that's in the middle of a city area thus allowing it to be accessible yet seemingly secluded away from the city bustle. The nearby park has a nice scenery with plenty of photographic moments. While small looking on the exterior, the hotel has plenty of rooms and the rooms are spaciously designed with a modern look. Hotel service was always just a mere call away with the staff always ready to assist with a smile. A small hidden gem of the hotel is the heated swimming pool which was a joy to soak away some fatigue in the evenings.

This place is perfect if you want to be away from the hustle and the bustle of the city, and still be within amenities and public transport. The pool is excellent (chlorine-free mineral water!) And isn't overcrowded. Ambience is excellent at night - quiet and contemplative. Price wise, it's on the higher end but the service rendered by staff on site is excellent. Rooms are also beautifully designed and unique - perfect for couple staycations or romantic getaways.

This is a very, very nice hotel. The lack of a 5th star is because: 1. The location is a decent walk from anywhere 2. They try a little too hard. The rooms, for example, are beautiful and modern, but the focus is more on the design than usability. Where are the spare sockets to plug in electronics? Why does it take 30 seconds to lower the blinds that give you privacy in the bathroom? But these are fairly minor points in what is overall a great experience.

Very disappointed in the hotel internet. Whole day best wifi is 1 Bar in the room. Insufficient for email. Good for honeymooning couple. Bad for anyone else who wants to remain connected. Would not recommend to anyone who wishes to work or remain online. Good for a complete reclusive retreat. Otherwise avoid at all costs.
Will not stay here again. Expect much better from a five star.

Second visit, again just for a meal but this is definitely on the list for our next staycation. The hotel is in a great location if you want somewhere leafy and quite but not too far from the city attractions. It's been sympathetically renovated so has lots of character too. Great for taking a walk in the park, learning some history of Singapore and seeing a play or concert when they are on. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good quality and at sensible prices. A good choice to eat if you happen to be in the park for a Sunday walk with the kids too - there's a kids menu and the deck area has a few toys to keep the younger ones busy. Looking forward to staying here soon!

Really helpful and courteous staffs. The place just screams class and elegance. Will love to try staying there for a night one day.

Staff was inexperienced. When asked for direction to the washroom the waiter simply said the other side. Without even point to it. One of the server served a dish of fish with the tail touching the table.

Very comfortable new boutique hotel. Full bath tub in the room next to bed with private outdoor loft for reading and chilling.
Shaun Lee (21/06/2017 08:31)
Lovely ambience and a great quiet greenspot away from the hustle and bustle from town. The local (Singaporean) food was really quite good. A misstep in one of the dishes was rectified by the excellent service staff.

A hotel within a national park, Hotel Fort Canning left a memorable experience for us. Although the hotel was a little difficult to get to, the front desk staff were friendly and approachable. The check-in procedure was a breeze. Room was spacious with a unique layout.

Relaxing comfortable and friendly. Nice dinning after a rejuvenising spa.
Van Vuong (28/02/2017 13:32)
Quiet location. Very nice rooms, open bathroom with shower area and large tub. Located in a park. A little inconvenient to go out as need to uber. Excellent breakfast with both Asian and Western fare.

Good priced set lunch and dinner

Great relaxed atmosphere. A stone's throw from Orchard Road, yet hidden in the lush Fort Canning. Perfect balance.

It's the anti-Marina Bay Sands. Intimate. Classy. Unpretentious. I had a small deluxe room for a quick "staycation" for some decompression. Cozy and stylish. Some details could use some polish, but they didn't ding the experience for me. Location in middle of Fort Canning Park is special, and sets it apart. Be prepared to walk up hill and sweat a bit if you want to get back from the nearby area or subway and aren't used to the heat. Tough it out, it's worth it....or you could cab it as needed.

Friendly staff and hotel ensuring excellent pampering treatment away from home. Exceptionally clean, modern and funky!! Hotel very well located in close proximity to shops, restaurants etc. Best bathroom with excellent views. I will stay at hotel on my next visit.

Had a wonderful staycation during our anniversary.the room and the bathroom were huge and Classy. Service was good and efficient ...check in was done in 5 minutes .brilliant work.
The architecture of the hotel is also beautiful , combining both modern and historical design together. Can see why couples want to hold their weddings here.
Junqin Eric (07/10/2016 07:48)
Attended a conference held here. The hotel is really pleasant, with a modern yet colonial feel. Situated in the lush greenery of Fort Canning, probably one of the most chill locations in Singapore. Only downside is the 5 min walk from the nearest metro station Doby Ghaut and the uphill climb to the hotel from the station.
But everything else was perfect.
Nakkiran Sunassee (22/09/2016 10:45)
Once you close the room's curtains, you would not be able to tell that you were in the middle of Singapore! HFC is surrounded by the park and thus a lot of the traffic noise is dampened by the vegetation. Add to this a wonderfully comfortable bed and an assortment of different pillows, and guests can have the most restful of sleeps.
The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and upon request, a variety of pillows were sent to our room for testing, until we found the right ones!
By Singapore standards, the rooms are fairly big, except for the bathtub which takes up a lot of space - who thought a bathtub in a tropical country was a good idea?! The hotel decor is elegant and understated, and everything is comfortable.
For the tech nerds, the lights, curtains, TV, are controlled by touchpads and also via the TV. There is free Wi-Fi everywhere, and even a keyboard to surf via the TV. However, the lack of individual bedside lamps can be an issue when one gets up in the middle of the night.
The spa, bar, and restaurant are also very good, and we ate quite a few meals there. The cocktails are very nice, and one particular feature is the 6-7pm free drinks hour on the patio, which gives guests a chance to socialise.
The hotel is close by Dhoby Gaut, a 5 minute walk through Park Mall, and one can spend a few hours walking around the park. Clarke Quay is also close by, a 10 minute walk through the park. The shopping madness of Orchard Road is also close by, a 12 minute walk.
Should we ever come back to Singapore, HFC will definitely be our first choice!

Incredible location, outstanding service and beautiful rooms. This is the perfect retreat from the bustle of Singapore.
Delvin Teo (30/07/2016 01:46)
Clean rooms with smart features.
A nice little boutique hotel wish sits on Fort Canning Hill. Within short walking distance to Orchard and the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.
Downside is that there is no convenience stall nearby.

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and bright rooms lit with natural light!
Yeow Jianhao (22/01/2016 00:55)
Without a doubt - historic, 5 stars service and facilities, cozy, and rooms are very clean and comfortable. However, price can be a slight turnoff, location is a little hard to get to, and it's a tad bit secluded from the main city. If you yearn peace and serenity. This could be good for you. If not, there are many other hotels all around town.
tomo n (10/01/2016 05:32)
Historic and Beautiful hotel located on top of the hill.
Nearest station, restaurant, and convenience store is a bit far from the hotel because the hotel is built on the hill, which can not read from the 2-dimensional map. It is not a big problem, but just in case I want to mention it.
If you want to explore the city of Singapore, you may choose other hotel by the subway station.
If you want to get relaxed with gentle atmosphere, this hotel is definitely the best hotel.

A hotel in a historic location - Fort Canning Park. Heavily involved in defense against Japanese invaders during WW2.
