Location is very good and being close to Little India I liked it. I took a three bed room. It is small only thing you have is 3 bed. The first day was fine and then my children started to have bed bugs for next 2 days. My advice beware of bed bugs otherwise rest is good.

A good place with good cleanliness. No bell boy available so have to take your luggage by yourselves. Helpful staff with all the facilities like hot water and air-conditioning available.

Toiletries are not in good condition but staff is polite... Rooms are small...... Only deluxe room has window.... Toilet are paper based only... No Indian system....toilet have hot water supply... Hot water can be taken on the interval of 5-10 mins... . Cleaning is good... Basic need hotel only.. One baath room and one very small room..... Remember window is provided only in deluxe room. And fridge is also provided only in deluxe room......... Bring your own tooth brush and tooth paste....

The services are nice. If you stay more than a night, your room will be cleaned every morning by the room service without even asking for it so the pillow and the bed would be clean when you get back from a trip in the end of the day. Extra mineral water also given each day. The lobby is nice and cozy you could bring your guest and talk here. The bathroom is excellent not too big and not too small just clean. It was a good experience after staying here. Thankyou so much.

Was a bit unsure about the place. However once we were there, loved the place. Got a free upgrade to city view room. Everything was clean. And the staffs are helpful

Good for budget hotel stay. Nice accommodation . Staffs are friendly, well spoken and polite. Have restaurant at ground level outside the hotel premises. Beds are not comfortable for a person of 5ft 6 inches and above. Rooms are small.

Staff is sensible and smart, actually nice people. All over it is a good option in medium budget. They have very nice rooms.

A good place to rest your head for the night, situated next to Singapore's Little India. Finding a place to eat is never a problem. As most of the restaurants in the area are opened 24/7. Has all the amenities needed for a backpacking trip or even with the family. Comfortable beds, and hot showers what more could you ask for in a budget hotel.

The rooms are super compact with only the basic amenities in place. Good budget hotel for a short stay.. Room service at snail pace.. Don't expect much. The location although is really good with all public transport facilities at walking distance.

Good hotel within budget with prime location, nearest MRT station is barely 3 min away, Mustafa center is just 6 min. Real good for budget travelers, room are small but any ways u need room for night sleep only so no issues.

It's a 2 star Budget hotel, service is okay good to go. Best if you are going to explore city and spend less time in hotel. Also suitable for family and couples with little budget. They have rooms with window and without window, rates are different for both.
Prageeth Dharmaraja (09/09/2017 07:02)
If you are in Singapore for work or to loaf around. This is one of the best place to cosider. Small rooms with a good bed to sleep. And it's almost like a center point for most of the big shopping malls
Chaitanya Kulkarni (15/08/2017 18:43)
Please note this is a budget property so keep appropriate expectations. Small rooms, suitable only for couple at the most. Location is the USP, very close to many Indian restaurants and rochor mrt.
Phantom bi (13/08/2017 12:32)
Friendly staff, room is clean and the price is right. Near mrt and shopping centers. Convenient to go to other part of town and have many good food around that area
Jaka Birsa (13/08/2017 06:24)
The location is good, but I booked in a hurry and didn't see that room you get is without windows, the pictures showed only the rooms with windows. But it wouldn't be that bad if the room had good ventilation, it was so damp in the room it was awful... So be careful.

Clean and comfy place close to Little India. An affordable place for tourists. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff. The staff arranged taxi service upon request.

Stayed 4 nights. Small but very clean rooms. Make sure to pay a few extra $ to get a window (most rooms are windowless). We found it really quiet and had a great sleep there. Nearest MRT station is about 5 min away. Plenty of restaurants around.

Summary based on a one night stay. Part of a budget chain in Little India district. Hotel 81 properties have a reputation, depending on the property, as basic business or "hourly" hotels. This one, according to a local, had a reputation as an hourly, but all indications from my one experience were basic business.
Easy to see from the street. Good location with several inexpensive restaurants, some 24 hour, close by. No hassles from people on the street, unlike some of the Geylang properties. Five minutes walk to underground passage at junction of Sungei Rd and Perak Rd to Rochor MTR.
Modern, well maintained structure and immediate environs. Friendly, helpful check in with late checkout of 2:30PM offered without asking since I had a 1AM arrival. Functional, clean lobby and average speed, dual elevator/lift. Luggage storage available.
Room was fine, though no window. Flat screen TV, in room coffee/tea, work surface, ok amount of electrical receptacles. Apparently some rooms are in the basement, though mine was on an upper floor. Intuitive lighting controls. Some noise from hallway. Guests in this cheaper sort of hotel are sometimes the "shout in the hallway" type. Some noise from the aircon and temp/humidity control wasn't great, though ok. Average, ok room security. Good ambient and task lighting. Small, though adequate work surface for laptop with "no back" chair. In room tea/coffee.
Bathroom was the "full flood" type with no separate shower. Decent towels and soap/shampoo provided. Plenty of hot water.
No restaurant and no breakfast, but several options close by, including upscale breakfast at Wanderlust hotel across the street.
Recommended for at least a short stay, especially for a late airport arrival with transfer elsewhere the next day, though it could be fine for several days.

The room is small but clean. The location is very nice. A lot of Indian food joints around.

Good Budget Hotel. However bear in mind that many rooms are without a window. Nevertheless a good place for people to stay who are tight on budget.

My thai girlfriend was refused entry to Singapore because she didn't carry enough money with her. Even though I was waiting for her at the airport customs still insisted she is lying and instead of contacting me confiscated her phone, locked her up and took her money for her flight back to Bangkok the next morning. I spent half of Valentines day alone in this hotel. I decided to book the first flight to Bangkok and this hotel was ready to refund my money for my nights prepaid but not stayed with just a little penalty. Also the wifi is very good at this hotel. Many places to eat right outside the hotel. The only negative I can say is that the bed sheets could be a little newer, and there is a little dust and moisture in the hotel room. Now, in Thailand you get a 4 star hotel for this price, much cleaner, but for Singapore prices I think this is a very good value. I would go back to this hotel.

Decent hotel. Close to a lively district. There was a cockroach in my bed after the 3rd sheet change under the covers. Bring bug spray!
Evans Azrial Gibran (31/12/2016 02:12)
The AC on my room doesn't work, and stuck at 18 degree celcius. There is a strange, strong, and unlikely smell when I first opened my room. Besides that, this hotel is good.
Michael Grolinger (27/11/2016 12:05)
Most of the rooms do not have a window (about 2/3 of the rooms), which is a bummer. The hotel and rooms are air conditioned, rooms are quite small and more or less clean. The overall smell is a bit funky. The hotel staff is helpful.
The hotel is located in little India. The location is good to get to the city center or Bugis market. Close by are many restaurants and convenience shops.

I stayed in this hotel in last June. I thought this hotel quite comfortable and strategic. The receptionist, servant, etc are very friendly. I thought everybody will be happy to come to this hotel. I hope this hotel can be more advanced. :)

Clean, basic & small. Great location. Easy access to Halal food. Walking distance to main attraction e.g. Arab Street for Swiss Cotton material , Bugis Street

I stay here with my sons for 5 nights on June 22-28, 2016. The Hotel 81 Dicson is a very good location hotel, near ROCHOR MRT, and near the Chinesse Economical Curry Rice Restaurant, the price is SGD 3-5. There is a Yong Kee Seafood Restaurant, the price of noodle is SGD 4 - SGD 6,5.
The lobby room is clean and very comfortable. I smell fresh and fragrance perfume of air freshener in front of the lobby.
I got early check in at 12.18pm...., thank you Mr. Robby 😊😊😊. It is very easy to check in at this hotel, because there is no deposit money for the key guaranty. Then, I enter my room. My room is small but it is a clean and tidy room. There is hot and cold shower in the bath room. There is an electric kettle to boil water, and hair dryer in my room. The Wifi conection is very good. I get two pieces of new clean towel everyday for standart double room. I am very satisfied stay at this hotel.
I wish ..... next time I will be come back to S'pore to stay here again.... 😊😊 👍👍

Coming to Singapore with average budget, but want to stay in hotel which affordable but close to the access of city. The answer is Hotel 81 Dickson. It is near Rochor MRT station, and also Sungai Besar Bus Station.
Hungry? It is near food court area which open 24 hours
Shopping? Ah. Mustafa Center is very close. Just a walk about 500meters. The shop open 24 hours.
