It has a very nostalgic look and it's welcoming. The drinks and events are great too!

Had nice 3 night stay in suite with terrace. Good for family of 3 adults. Was with my son and daughter.
The location is excellent, near china town and 5 mn walk from metro station.
The roon is just about enough for 3 beds, which was expected, given the reasonable prices compared to cost of hotel rooms FOR Singapore.
The staff is extremely friendly and would step to help in ANY WAY THEY CAN.
The best thing about the hotel is the big terrace, nice plants and christmas light, table and six chairs. Even a swing and an external bathtub.
I recommend this place

Im giving 5 stars compared to nearby hostela and capsule. Easy booking, can accomodate early check in, unlimited drinks anytime of the day and friendly staff. Location very strategic for your tourist destination (near MRT, Churches and to your foodtrip chinatown). Luckily, we got a discounted rate via booking app even a night before. Clean room, no smell, a nice place to rest after your stroll.

Overview
The Hotel 1929, Singapore is located on Keong Saik Street, in the business district of Chinatown, just 2 minutes walk from Chinatown MRT Station. The Hotel 1929 features individually designed rooms furnished in a modern minimalistic style. An ideal small hotel for those who are wishing to stay somewhere slightly different. It has a small rooftop jacuzzi.
Number of rooms: 32

Really nice staff. I spent just one night but they were very helpful and assist with any request promptly and with a smile on their face.

Location great with friendly staff but everything else is pretty bad. Check pictures for details (mold, rust, shower over the toilet, tiny room, sink in the bedroom about 40cm from the bed).

Fantastic location. Clean rooms. Attentive staff members. Couldn't have asked for more.

charming hotel with a cute hipster theme, but rooms were dusty and not very clean when i was there, and street noise was a bit of problem on one occasion.

Our room was very tight, particularly the shower / bathroom. There were a lot of little things that made this place great though. There was an umbrella in the room and a phone to use for the duration of the trip. The Wi-Fi was good. The staff was very nice.

Small rooms in a busy street. However, the room is of a decent value

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's easy to walk around Chinatown & the Chinatown train station is close by. The staff are super friendly and the interior is really cool. The rooms are great and in good condition but they are super small. We had a superior double room which I would only recommend if you were solo. The basin isn't in the bathroom but in the bedroom. The hot water also didn't last long and became cold. Breakfast was good too.

Have stayed here a few times over the years. Basic little hotel a stones throw away from Chinatown. Can get some good pricing and the rooms are exceptionally compact depending on the type of room you book. The staff are exceptionally helpful.

Boutique hotel. A bit pricey. Located near popular drinking joints and a stone's throw away from Chinatown

Clean and stuff is really kind but! Room annoyingly small, super noisy during whole night, left without hot water in the middle of the shower, no fridge...

Small clean room with a very friendly and helpful staff

I'm madly in love with Hotel 1929. I stayed 3 nights - 2 nights in a deluxe room and one where they upgraded us to the terrace suite. Both types of rooms were great, modern, chic, and comfortable, however, a little small. The terrace suite was to die for, with a skylight and a private rooftop deck with a clawfoot bathtub! (plus a Nespresso machine and Kiehl's bath products ☺) The hotel is in a gorgeous old refurbished Chinatown building - great location for night-life and wandering, and only a 15 minute walk to the CBD. Each room also had a portable WiFi device you can take around the city with you, very handy! (I think you need to book directly with the hotel to access it) The included breakfast was delicious (you get a cooked meal plus you can help yourself to a mini buffet). The staff were lovely, and very thoughtful! Can't wait to return.

Great steak, slick presentation. Limited wine by the glass but had two good reds. Did not stay at hotel.

No doubt its a nice hotel that serve good food. However, their service level is poor. I just made a call to enquire the rates for 5 rooms for my counterparts whom will be visiting Singapore during the Communic Asia. When the rates, $400 per room per night, was told to me, I got a shock and ask why the sharp increase in price. And this lady answer back in a poor manner saying "Cause Communic Asia is happening in Singapore mah." Please train your staff to answer tactfully and in proper English.
