This cafe has been listed several times on list of must-visit-brunch-places in Singapore. I can't agree more with all those lists! For me the simple reason behind that is their pancake. The place is quite compact. It's generally pretty crowded on weekend afternoons. I've been to Habitat twice. The first time I ordered the egg tomato relish and the pancake. The second time I ordered the all day breakfast set and the pancake. The egg tomato relish was delicious but you might want to avoid it if you're not a fan of tomato flavored dishes since the dish stands very true to it's name. Quantity is really good as well. Coming to the pancakes, Habitat has one of the fluffiest and lightest pancakes I have tasted in Singapore. They are generous with their serving size. The pancake comes with fresh fruits, herbs, powdered sugar, nuts, and a sinful dollop of cream cheese. It's absolute bliss for anyone with a sweet or non-sweet tooth. Definitely worth including in your order!

A good place for you to relax with a comfortable group of friends over good food. Personally, I love their truffle fries - whenever I feel like eating truffle fries, I'd think of the one here.

Cake was delicious. Came here at night so didnt order coffee but want to come back again to try their breakfast and coffee.

I will be back!

Food: The food is good, nice combination of taste and food material. Quantity, quality and presentation is clearly there.

Drink: Coffee is well brewed with artistic presentation. Tea is fine as well.

Queue: Great use of efficient app based queuing system. Thumbs up!

Atmosphere: Lively and vibrant, juz a tad too noisy tat it covers out the music playing in the background.

Service: Responsive service by attentive staff. Thumbs up!

Considerations for improvement: Air-con is almost non existence.

Second visit here! First time having the mains, it was really filling. The eggs benedict tasted pretty average. Tiramisu latte and matcha molten cake were delicious!!

The cafe was pretty noisy due to poor acoustics. But overall it's a decent cafe with no GST and service charge and a further 10% off using Chope vouchers 😉

Really recommend their date cake with earl grey ice cream. Really yummy!!

Lively cafe for a brunch on weekends. Good choice of fare from egg benedicts to pasta and rice bowls to sandwiches. Had the egg tomato relish, poutine and chilli crab linguine. Nice infused teas, juices and coffee.

Great food and nice coffee. But food takes a little long to arrive even though there wasn't alot of customers. The quality of food more than make up for the long wait though.

Cozy place with great ambience. Coffee is nice and service is decent. Was very crowded even past lunch time. Tried the food before and it's attractively plated.

The english breakfast was extremely filling though the sausage and bacon was a little tad salty for my liking, but otherwise the food is still not too bad.

The salmon pasta was flavourful, the pasta was nicely coated in the sauce and the salmon fried to just nice.

Loved the matcha molten cake with ice cream, incredibly rich in the matcha taste, which may be bitter for some, but nicely balanced with the sweetness of the ice cream. Must try matcha lovers!

Overall not a bad place to chill out. Price a little on the pricier range ($20 - $30) per person.

Came on a Friday afternoon. It's my first visit. Love the Ice mocha! Intense and flavourful.
Beef yakiniku - The beef tasted like it been in and out of the fridge
Big Ben - It was jus average. Scramble egg from Awesome cafe tasted much better..
Chicken pops - A little on the greasy side, could give it a miss.
I probably would not come back again... 😞

Food is good, have mineral water for you to drink be it warm water or cold water. Good place to come with your friends, food serve also very fast and extremely delicious and value for money

Nice cafe ambience. Serves up a good meal. Tried the Beef yakiniku which had a good flavour. The beef sandwich was actually a burger and was pretty good too. Really liked the truffle fries. One of the best I've had. Portions are all quite substantial.

its not too small just nice. cozy place but slightly noisy. the food that u ordered were a delightful departure from the usually cafe fare. loved the tomato based egg benedict and the salmon rice bowl. loved the coffee too! an excellent place, but wait is Loonnng..

Sean Lynn (22/06/2017 17:19)
Good place for breakfast, their eggs benedict was surprisingly good. One small minor issue was that the eggs were slightly cold.

Good coffee selection, although small, but they make some good coffee.

Weekends are definitely crowded, so I would recommend going here for brunch on a weekday if possible. The staff are much more free to help you with any issues.

Hilda Cheong (10/06/2017 08:14)
Cafe gets crowded in the weekends. Serves decent food options and service is relatively fast. Chilli crab pasta was a little too sweet with the tomato flavour but white truffle scrambled eggs were tasty!

(I was expecting a rather relaxed setting for adults, if you don't mind noise it is a 4/5 rating.) I ordered a tall cappuccino. Unfortunately no lactose free milk as in the rest of Singapore. The cappuccino itself was immaculate though. The interior is nice in general but a bit cheap: My table was shaky, I fixed it with tissues myself. Also it is really noisy because there is no appropriate furniture or wall covers to dampen the noise. Until now I would have still given 4/5 because of the beverage but then they started playing loud music - it had to be loud to drown the talking noise - and it became really stressful if you were looking to relax or work as the website and the pictures suggest.

More than Habitable

Among the spate of new cafe openings in the Upper Thomson road area, this very popular cafe is one of the better ones in Singapore serving creative brunch dishes and smooth coffees

The Damage: S$20-25 per person
Ambience: Quaint cafe, can get crowded on weekdays due to its popularity.

While Habitat has maintained the standard of coffees, the food is a big disappointment over time. Had brunch today and ordered Big Ben. Food was served lukewarm. Not sure if I was served overnight food!

Ishleen Sethi (10/05/2017 09:07)
It's a small place on Thomson Road which gets quite lively over weekends, especially for brunch. Best of you make a reservation before going.
We tried the Truffle Salmon Scrambled and the Hearty Bowl. The Hearty Bowl was really nice and fresh, and though the Truffle Salmon was palatable, the overdose of truffle made it somewhat hard to eat after a few bites. Coffee was good though.

Kajor Kat (10/04/2017 15:16)
Ambience was great but due to its popularity, the wait time can be pretty long and the food portion is kinda small as well..
Coffee's pretty great still!

Ming Yee Lim (04/04/2017 01:27)
Great place for coffee but sometimes gets over crowded & full-house. Best to visit during off-peak hours.

Sunny Tneo (17/02/2017 13:57)
Not very spacious, which is a normal shophouse size. The atmosphere and environment is suitable for gathering or have a tea break.

I ordered 'chic bo', 'teriyaki salmon pasta', 'iced cappucino' and 'belgian waffle with earl grey ice-cream'. The taste of foods and drinks are acceptable level and I feel can be better.

Waiter and waitress are courteous, is comfort for their services.

Emily Su (13/02/2017 15:00)
Ordered The Shrooms ($13) - two perfectly poached eggs on nicely fluffy brioche toast. This was super delicious; the homemade citrus Hollandaise sauce is quite unique & has a good hint of sourness to bring everything together. 👍

Also ordered a regular cappuccino ($4.90), which was delicious & fairly strong.

Already can't wait to return here to try other items off their menu!

💳 Accepts credit cards - only for bills of at least $30

Service was ridiculously bad. The young servers didn't bother to pay much attention to their patrons. Was carrying two cups of water with both hands and none of them bother to hold the door for me despite them standing just next to the door. Probably need more training for these young servers (probably in their 17s 18s?)

Tan J Ken (22/12/2016 03:13)
Had diarhoea after having the cajun prawns.

Don't like the service today. Especially when she repeated my order and missed out something and I asked if the item that was missed out was included or not, she repeated everything in a tart tone.

Had the new stuff. Cajun prawn thing, chicken cordon bleu. The toast for the cajun prawn and eggs benny felt like it was left out for a long time then served. Chicken cordon bleu was really dry although recommended by the staff.

Always come here for breakfast with good expectations but this time round I'm disappointed.

Edit: Aunt came half an hour later, ordering some mushroom with benedict. Toast served still wasn't crispy at all. Staff said it was meant to be chewy. Cook came out saying the bread absorbs the mushroom sauce and hence being not crispy. But the skin didn't absorb the sauce and was still soggy. Mushroom was stringy.

The ambiance of this small cafe is nice. Service staff are friendly though not very warm. The Pulled Beef sandwich is awesome, Eggs Benedict so-so. The Onde Onde cake is really good. Free flow of cold and warm water is a nice touch.

Victor Liew (05/09/2016 10:23)
The Chili Crab linguine was spicy and tasted like chili crab dishes you often find everywhere in Singapore. It even comes with fried buns. The BBQ pull beef is full of meat and is worth your money. If the food doesn't appeal to you just stop for some coffee or desserts.

Fantastic food and very friendly staff. Definitely one of my favourite brunch cafes.

Justin Chan (16/06/2016 04:05)
Aside from the great piccolo latte they do, my wife and I found the following really good:
1. Their eggs benedict
2. Their dinner options like pesto pasta

Lawrence Lau (09/06/2016 08:55)
Cosy small french eatery. The braised lamb shank was quite good! Terrible parking during peak hours though.

Gerald Leong (30/04/2016 01:50)
Coffee is great, pasta is even better. Can get a little warm and noisy when it's crowded but overall, a really nice cafe. Staff is extremely friendly as well.

Roshni Shivaramakrishnan (03/01/2016 01:45)
Excellent coffee, lovely staff and good food that's worth the wait (plus they have truffle fries yum) It does get quite crowded fairly easily but they do have bar seats now which makes this a nice place to come in a small group or even alone.

They play good music too and generally the place has happy vibes which is lovely :D
