Food is Ok But the servers stuff you excess items and show you a big bill. Quite crowded at weekends... delayed service.. Not a fine dining restaurant during weekend.

Nice Indian food at reasonable prices. Good variety and most dishes are coked to perfection.

Food is good but potions very little even if you order the large plate. Customer service is bad. We need to wait for our food items for a long period of time. They will serve you rice without gravy and we have to wait for it or call the waiter to remind them that gravy is not served. All the food items are over priced. Unfortunately this restaurant do not deliver what they preach.

Singapore has many famous Indian restaurants but to me gayathri will always be my go to restaurant is I have guest over from overseas. They serve a good range of wine that goes well with their mouth watering cuisine. My favourite is always their fish head curry.. it is a must try dish for all who visit gayathri

One of my favourite places to dine whenever I am in Little India.Been there many times and they have never let me down in terms of food quality and service.
Love the Chicken 65, Appom, Fish Cutlet, Saffron Rice, Gobi and displayed specialities.

Briyani was good... but it wasn’t outstanding. For the quality, Gayatri Restaurant is rather expensive.
Taste: 3/5
Value for money: 2/5
Would recommend to friends? No, there are better restaurants around the same price point.

Very bad place for vegetarians. But good place of you eat south Indian non veg food

The quality and taste of the food going down. Previously when we used to visit we used to really enjoy our meal for the price we paid now it's more like you end up paying for a meal that is not worth the price. Some how the food lost all it's taste.

Foods and drinks are nice. Quiet place. Staffs are so friendly. We even sing birthday song to celebrate our friend birthday.

Went at about 2130h and the place wasn't crowded, but it wasn't empty either. Food took about 15 mins to arrive after placing the order. Food was delicious and I would definitely come back again.
There is a big illuminated sign that's at the back of the restaurant. It is rather misleading though, as it may look closed. Just go around the block to access the main entrance.

Food came very fast and the service staff was ok. Food was average. However next day four of our five diners all suffered diarrhea and mild food poisoning.

Good food with excellent service.

Service is poor and slow. Staff weren't very helpful and they Only brought water upon request(would've expected that to be served first from a restaurant of any caliber). Food was ok. Chicken biriyani was nice and flavourful, but Masala dosai and plain dosai were ordinary and nothing special. Mango lassi was rather sour. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant. Wouldn't quite recommend.

Authentic delicious Indian food. It lags a star because my last experience with the waiter attention was bad. We were a group of 10 and there was only one waiter attended to us and we had to keep calling him.

The fried chicken is superb. Curry fish head is power sia.

Good Indian food at reasonably low price with good service..Worth visiting it.

Outstanding butter chicken and briyani. One small gripe was the small butter chicken portions and average drinks.

Really enjoyed the food there. Reasonable price for a restaurant!

Tasty seafood curry dishes. Staff slow to respond at times if you are seated outside.

Great food at really good prices :)

Food served on banana leaf. Generous serving of mutton Bryani enough for two to share. Mutton pieces were a nice chunky size and not too small; tender and tasty. Served with papadums, gravy and yogurt slaw. Went well with masala tea.

Indian food here is great! Love the spice on the food and sharing meals with friends on this place. The prices of the food is not bad as well.

Good 4pax Lunch on 19Dec2016
we ordered 4 dishes (include fish head curry).lime juice S$3 a bit expensive, quite good, so ok.for me, pepper prawns was the best dish for lunch.large prawns, very fresh, plump & bouncy, good serving size & excellent sauce. all for S$18.the madras chicken was not bad.again sauce tasty & aromatic with the herbs.cannot tell if masala chicken or butter chicken maybe better. anyway this was amply ok.we ordered 2 garlic naans (S$7.50). we only finished one.felt not enough sauce & asked server for some butter chicken gravy or dhal.he came with the big plate of dhal. not the best for naan but i thought it would be complimentary. he charged us S$7. might as well order a large dish of butter chicken or squid at S$11???we ordered the S$17 fish head curry promo.it was whole head, not 1/2, but a small head.miles better than banana leaf apollo bistro we had on 4.11.2016, fish head was very fresh & fish meat tender. the curry i had to go back to getting use to, but after a while, i quite liked it. thought it was very good too…the mutton dum briyani at S$11 was a good value dish.rice were separate, single grain, very nicely done.there was a huge serving of mutton, like maybe 8 large pieces.mutton was tasty & tender, but still a bit robust & some gamey taste. i had better briyani at other places, notably chat masala. still it was a great dish & all of us liked it.my friend who paid for lunch had a S$50 groupon, so i guess lunch was about S$80nett, which was pretty ok for the food.

Horrible restaurant. So please stay away, while the rest of us get to dine on sumptuous signature fish dum briyani, house special roti jala with mysore mutton curry, washed down with some of the best masala tea free of the typical crowds who don't know any better. Listen to the ill informed folks who give this place lower than 4 stars. Go someplace else. Me and my 20-something strong group of Indianfood aficionados who have been dining here for nigh on 8 years thank you from the bottom of our bellies.
:)

If you want to eat the worlds most horrible food please go to Gayatari restaurant.Khansama is 1000 times better
satish kumar (29/08/2016 00:29)
They need to increase the range of dishes, and they claim for serving biryani set, but they are just serving safron rice with 2 veggies, taste needs to be improved. We have requested for bill more than thrice and we havent received bill, rather we went to billing desk and asked for bill. They have billed even for the wet tissues they provided.
Daniel Wong (27/08/2016 03:33)
Although not as famous as their neighbours, their fish head curry is good and reasonably priced. Other food is not bad too, I have visited them just for their mutton briyani.
Phoebe Yip (23/08/2016 11:11)
The entrance has a platform of acacia hardwood flooring and a small fountain facing the main road which it is my favorite style of deco. When you enter the restaurant to see a nice wine cellar in the middle and the open fridge for the customer to choose their main course. The main courses' flavors is overpowering and overpriced. Perhaps will consider to try their curry fish head next time with friends to share.
Sankar Balasubramanian (06/07/2016 14:39)
We went as a group of 4, everybody were satisfied with the taste of dishes they ordered. Taste was good. They can improve on service and the so called digital menu is not of good use.
Hate :I one thing I hate about them is the charging of wet towel even without the knowledge of us.
Ambience - 3 stars
Service - 3 Stars
Taste - 4 Stars

Food selection was great. Delicious food, bit expensive for the kind of food.

Monday Nights the Fish Head Curry is at $17 per pot. This is my go to place for South Indian Food. Another personal favourite and i would recommend as a must try : gobi Manchurian. You can never find it like this anywhere.
Brendan Cross (01/04/2016 01:13)
Tasty South Indian fare served family style. The butter chicken and garlic naan were excellent, and I liked how everything was served on banana leaves.

I wish to let all know of the very substandard service I was subject to yesterday at the restaurant last night. I had come with my family to celebrate a birthday but felt that the service was just lacking as it took such an extraordinarily long time for the food to arrive .
What aggravated the matter was that the corkage charge was imposed on my already hefty charge of almost $500 for a simple dinner with my family folks.
I think there must certainly be some refund due as we were assured that there would be no corkage charges in the first place.
Paying a huge amount for a service that was less than desired and misrepresented about the bill payments is definitely not tolerable.
Really , I am hoping for some redress to this incident before I go further to embark on any other course of action that I am now advised to do so.
