Stayed for 3 nights, got a room on the topmost floor (5th floor or so). Really tiring as they don't have elevator. Other than that, it's all good. Place was clean, staff was helpful.

Transportation: convenient, one minute walk to the bus stop and MRTstation.

Staff: friendly, but forgot to clean our room once. Willing to give help.

Inside: toilets and shower rooms are quite clean, but some places of them are left. Floors need to brushing.

Room: No smell, double beds. My kids love them.

For a backpacker hostel, it is well managed and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is even free breakfast available, simple though it may be.

Solid and well priced hostel. Within walking distance of many activities in Singapore and right next to Little India (Including the MRT) Good food near by too.

Clean rooms and separate toilets, nice breakfast place with sandwiches and variety of jams, plus strong wifi signal - after check in.
but no elevator that we had to carried my heavy luggage by stairs to 3rd floor. a 4-beds room quite small and blankets are too thin for us. besides, you should prepare a 3-pin plug or u can hire for 2 singapore dollars for each.

Excellent location, just across from exit A Little India MRT for North East line and the new Downtown line.
Very convenient and central.
Decent breakfast with boiled eggs available most days.
Mr Tay and all the staff are very nice, friendly and extremely accommodating. Wide variety of dorms and private rooms available with decent shared bathrooms with hot shower. Small kitchenette on each floor. Laundry available.
Beds are clean and comfortable, crucially air-conditioning is available 24 hours unlike many other hostels which turn off air-conditioning during daytime -- this is a huge advantage!
Storage and snacks available.
7-11 just round corner.
Many eating options at fair prices in area. Little India and Bugis close by.
Not the cheapest but definitely the best value for money in Singapore.
Five stars.

It was a pretty disturbing experience. Room for four people was probably had two bunk beds and the space of an office cubicle between them. Also, aircon dropped when the temperature was below 20. Also, there were cockroaches in the rooms. I guess I can't expect anything better for 60 SGD per night.

Ever been kicked out of a hostel? If not, go to this one - they'll give you a boot for no reason and no extra charge.

First and foremost, it is important to note that the password for this hostel is pa$$word for all networks. This dictates what I believe is the sole driving force of these owners and their employers, and a lack of passion for people and the travel and tourism industry. They are not friendly, and they are not interested in your questions, stories, or travel needs.

I first noted that something was iffy when the hostel asked for my passport number and information to be sent in a email to them directly upon booking. Now, as I am not German, a passport is not the most holy document I own, although seeing as how I recently got robbed of all my possessions and haven't read any good books lately, it is among them. It is a very strange thing to ask considering the guest will always provide it upon arrival, and that a passport number is not required to make the booking.

As soon as I checked in, I realized that the questions asked were not being processed by the individual working (whom I would assume is the part-owner). They robotically provided information about the dorm and the washroom facility, but not what I was looking for about the surrounding area. Then, our room A/C started leaking. This problem was promptly fixed, and I must comment very efficiently and on the spot. A Filipino traveler in the room complained of getting bit by bugs the night before and horrible sleep.

However, what shocked me was the next day when I realized that the fees for leaving your bags at the hostel are $5 per hour after 2 PM. No problem, I came back to get my stuff and hang around at the hostel. However, first I was kicked out of the main lobby for cleaning purposes, and then upon my return told that no one was allowed to stay in the hostel after check-out, as this was 'house rules'. I looked at the house rules, and there was absolutely no mention of this, nor online. I informed the individual that I was waiting to have my passport delivered at 4 PM and needed just another hour until they came. I did not have their phone number, or a way to have instant correspondence, so pleaded to stay in order to get my documents as necessary. The owner called me a liar, even when I provided him an email showing my correspondence with a local agent. He then claimed that I was hiding in the hostel and going into private areas, whereas I had just sat in the lobby due to the owner telling me that I could sit anywhere but the lobby. He angrily expressed his dissatisfaction that guests were trying to tell him how to run his business, which I found very strange, since he is supposed to be responding to our comments and making adjustments (the baggage storage room was apparently in response to customers' feedback, but I'm sure we didn't ask there to be a $5/hour fee for it!).

To cut the story short, I was forced out of the hostel because the lobby area is for oncoming guests and that there was no space for others. There was not a single other person in the lobby room at the time. I sat outside and wrote this review quite displeased at what I can only say is the worst hostel experience I have ever had out of some 100 stays in over 15 countries. No one has ever been as authoritarian and self-focused as the individual I tried to rationale with, and no hostel should kick you out of their hostel facility if you are waiting for something to take place, nor are not causing any trouble. I understand that this is Singapore, where time is money, all is fame and fines, people are predominantly Asian and extremely uptight, and want everything done spic and span - but it is in no way acceptable. I usually never post reviews, nor comment on mediocre stays, but this is no doubt a place I would never recommend to anyone ever to stay. I regret having made the decision to do so even though there was a better hostel nearby and only did so because there was breakfast included (it was sub-par, to say the least).

Place is cool neat and clean and is less than 5 minute walk from little india metro station. But the staff attitude is just like a typical govt. Buruecratic organization. They will talk with you in non emotional and monetary way which make me to give low star place. Overall is nice cheap place for solo travellers

This hostel redefines the word basic. There is no top sheet just a thin unwashed blanket.

There was a large group of adolescent male guests who were consistently loud and obnoxious during the night - there was zero intervention from staff/management to address this.

Exactly Opposite to Little India MRT station & Rex Cinema. Well maintained Hostel. Close to many Indian Restaurants. Would have given 5 Stars, if the breakfast has more items & lift

Okay value for the price. Minute walk to little India train station. Overwhelming smell of moth balls in the room. Staff seemed very concerned about getting us in and out mostly. Stored our bags for the day before our late flight so that was nice. Bread and hard boiled eggs for breakfast.

Aaron Carnefix (17/03/2017 18:43)
Decent hostel. Only a 5 minute walk to Little India MRT station, which is also close to many of the major tourist attractions. Free breakfast is basic (mainly toast), but better than nothing. Room was clean, although a little small for 4 people with luggage. Overall not a bad stay.

Nice place to stay, near to MRT Station

Nicholas Wright (29/01/2017 09:17)
Rickety old bunk beds. Annoying manager that buzzes around making sure people aren't using the PCs more than 30 mins at a time, that air con is turned off, that people are wiping their feet as they come in the door etc. Which would be fine if the place was kept to a nicer standard. He made us check out an entire HOUR before the normal check out time if we wanted to leave our bags for a few hours. Honestly took less than 2 mins to open a storage room and place our bags inside, not sure what the point was! Close to Little India tube stop which was handy.

First time in my traveling life that I stayed in a bag packer hostel, G4 Station, you really change my perceptions. I love and enjoyed my stay with you!
Will go back and tell all my friends to stay at G4 Station and I surely be back again.
It's so clean every where, toilet, stairway, corridors, especially the room and beds! House keepers, keep up the awesome job! Breakfast is generous! Counter staff is helpful too! Good job, Mr. Thai!
Surrounded by all the food from many cultures, eat till you drop!
3 mins slow walk to the nearest MRT station- Little India station
I am leaving today with an awesome experience!
See you guys! And keep up the good job ya!

Francis Veto (18/07/2016 02:14)
Definitely only for backpackers. There is no elevator for guests, and some rooms are as high as the sixth floor!
