A historic Temple turned into the facade of a hotel. The museum is very small, probably takes one minute to see everything.

A quaint and small museum directly next to Amoy Hotel, of the early days of Chinese immigrants in Singapore. Not much to see, except that it offers a peek of how shophouses used to be back in the days.

According to the plaque at the entrance, this temple is one of the oldest around since the 1820s. The temple, founded by the Hakka and Cantonese immigrants, served as a place of worship and a social meeting place for the two communities. The temple was closed in 1994 and has since been converted into a museum.
Inside, you can find a diorama depicting a street scene outside the temple with the early immigrants going about their daily life. If you are wondering why there is a pier with boats docking along it, that is because this place used to be a coastal area. Much of Telok Ayer is built on reclaimed land.
In fact, the name Telok Ayer actually means "Water Bay".

You can see a model of the old temple. Quite interesting.

A museum as well as an entrance to one of the nicest boutique hotel in town, Amoy. Fuk Tak Chi museum displays the history of Chinese ancestors of Singaporeans. How they got into the land and what they do before. The temple is an actual temple back in the days. Worth visiting, but I wouldn't say it is very resourceful.

It's a small temple converted into a musuem filled with small figurines depicting life in Singapore decades ago. It's recommended for a visit if you're around the area!

This temple sits prominently but few Singaporeans know it's the oldest chinese temple in Singapore and is actually restored to be a museum
