A really nice stroll at Fort Canning Park
Visited Fort Canning Park after a rainy afternoon so temperatures were nice and cooler. The Park is located on a hill so some parts of walkway is fairly steep but definitely walkable with any type of shoes. Saw many others doing the stroll at the same time too.
There are several attractions at Fort Canning Park such as the BattleBox, Raffles House etc but our favourite must be the Spice Garden. Really interesting to see where the spices which we often cook with originate from. Neither of us recognize any of the trees except for the banana tree lol. A must see if you ask me 😀
The downside of this place is the many groups of foreign workers gathering and spending their Sunday together. They weren’t a nuisance in any way, just some were in the way along the walking path. Perhaps on a non rainy day, they would be on the grass instead of the walkways.
Challenge - see if you can spot some of the trees and sights we took 😎

It's a good green place to walk and can view different prts of city from a small hill.
Some of the trees 🌲 are very old and you have variety of different trees.
Saw youngsters , families coming for a picnic sorts.
There are few historic events associated with the place and you find few places marked like gate, bunker...
Not a big fan of history so my views could neglect something that may be considered by historians.
In all a good place for a healthy stroll and just taking walk on this hill.

Fort canning park is an excellent place to visit with family and friends. Whether you want to visit to marvel at the nature or to learn more about singapores history, you will find enjoyment there. Fort siloso is a really awesome place with nature trails and reconstructed forts that you can visit. For those wondering, there are toilets and parking lots in the area. This place is also wheelchair accessible with lifts and ramps to accommodate wheelchairs.

This is the place where a historical fort was when SG was part of a British Empire. Park is really beautiful with a variety of plants and trees. Very well maintained place. Tunnels underneath the park as a part of a fort - are accessible for a fee. Few remnants left with an informations for people to read about. Great place to chill at on a hot Singapore day.

A city park with huge historical significance for Singapore. But its very small. A walk around it takes only 30min. Most historical structures are not too different from conserved structures in Singapore. There is also a strange looking 3 sty modern but abandoned building right on top next to the reservoir.

Beautiful park located high up on a hill. Singapore water reserve is located here due to its height. Walk along the edges of the park to get a nice view of the city, while still experience the beauty of the park. Stay away from the water, or else you will get shot (according to the signs). You can't even access the water, unless you want to climb some fences.

If you're a history buff, it's OK if you're in the area. If you're a tourist, there's not much to see here other than an old Fort gate, a colonial office, a Muslim grave, old hotel and Asian spice garden. There's an archaeological dig site but not much of interest. If your work around the area, it's a great place to just connect with nature during lunch time.

I can't see very clearly at night but I can feel it's a good park. Anyway I took some good pictures here. Some structures are quite special. Prepare your mosquito prevention product before visiting here.

In the heart of the city is this beautiful and well-maintained park. While it’s true that most of Singapore feels like a park, with carefully manicured trees and gardens everywhere, officially designated parks such as this have not lost their novelty and are still worth a visit. For one, this park sits at a higher elevation, offering scenic views of downtown Singapore. And then there are the attractions, including a historic lighthouse and archaeological digs attesting to the rich culture of the island. The environment also invites contemplation and pause, perfect for those who wish to recharge and escape the hustle of city life.

Terrific place, coffee in the hotel best option, all other places on the map showing a cup symbol did not do tea/ coffee unless a vending machine. Lovely walks and I've never seen such fantastic trees. Away from the bustling center.

If you want a hilly run in Singapore, head here to FC. Well maintained with a water fountain along the way too!

A bit of a climb but an expansive park area with many aspects of history and nature in evidence. The Battlebox museum tour is a must but there's so much more. Also some great chill out areas with lots of shade.

Really nice small park in the middle of the city. Pretty steep inclines, but other than that great for a stroll or jog

Great place to spend a day, especially at the Battle Box. Remarkably cooling in there, with extraordinary attention placed on detail. Wax figures everywhere, which give an accurate impression of how things were done here. And by the way, please note that they preserved EVERYTHING, from the toilets to the steel doors with holes sawn in them to let the air in!
Overall, a great place for history buffs.

Located near Clark Quay, this place is a contrast to the hustling bustling Clark Quay. Here you will find silence, solitude and peace. You may find bunch of people exercising and they may inspire you to lead a healthy life. There is a museum and art center. Few area is restricted. There is a hotel and restaurant also.

Went to watch the "Ballet under the stars". It was a good show and was a nice place to enjoy with friends, although it is dependent on the weather. If it rains, it probably won't be as enjoyable. If it does start to rain, they do sell plastic rain covers for you to wear.

A quiet and shady park on the fort canning hill right in the middle of the city. Some part of the park gives a good view of the city and surrounding. There are a lot this park offer buy sadly the locals rather go to the malls then enjoying such a gem.

This is a beautiful park. You can't access the resoviour on top, it's closed to the public. Walking around the park is lovely, it's well kept and green. My wife and I spent a few hours here, enjoying the warm breeze on a hot day. The north side of the park was more sheltered from the city noise.
Cheiko Sairin (27/07/2017 09:29)
A well preserved command post of world war vintage is the centre point. A well maintained garden adds to the charm. Quite a nice park to go for a casual stroll & take some time to chill out from the city. The walk around is very interesting, as it takes one through the history of Singapore. As I left this place I realised one visit is not adequate!

The gardens are beautiful. Day or night its a great break from city life walking around here.
Almog Ramrajkar (20/06/2017 02:46)
Very clean and lovely for a morning or an evening park. Was beautiful especially during a drizzle. Hosts the art gallery and the Battlebox museum, that gives an insight on the history of Singapore's world war 2 partake.

One can get glimpse of Singapore history..

Wonderful greenery in the heart of Singapore that also has a long history. Signs(beside the plant) were informative. However, there were too many mosquitoes and if you go there for a hike, prepare for several mosquito bites on your legs.

Was there and to found out the museum was closed but the park's wall fences has history, was a good walk with an ice-cream cone bought at one of eateries.

Historical & scenic place for the romantics. Though sadly, no more Van Kleef Aquarium; old ACS Primary Sch (since relocated). Fortunately,The Battle Box is a 'must-visit' WW2 Allied bunker for history freaks like myself!

Beautiful fauna with heritage trees. Good place to do light hiking even with your dogs. The park can do better with 1 or 2 drink kiosks or water fountains for park users.

An exciting place for a weekend handout. This place has a lot of history about the Singapore, one of the best tourist destinations in Singapore if you are interested much on the history of Singapore.

Amazing park, secluded garden, well maintained. Worth a visit for a walk or a nice challenge for a run.

Historical, preserved, educational, lush, tropical, and peaceful. This park makes you feel miles away while you're practically at city centre. Take your time to explore each path as the park lends itself to a variety of experiences.

Happens to visit this place without any plan and this place come to me as a surprise. Tree everywhere. And a great place to walk around/ relax. Walking around this place needs some energy. Lots of steps and steep places.

I come here everyday during my lunch break to walk a few rounds around the park. It's really nice because the air is really fresh and the place is beautiful.
It's almost empty on weekdays so definitely worth the visit away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Used to be called Bukit Larangan, Forbidden Hill.
Nice little park with lots of history and squirrels.
There is a spice garden, an archaeological dig, a shrine of a Singapore Sultan, lighthouse & the site where Lieutenant-General Arthur Percival made the fateful decision to surrender Singapore to the Japanese on 15 February 1942.
There is toilets and vending machine along the way.
Walk duration : 60mins+
Tips: If you hate stairs, the best way up is by Singapore National Museum. There is a outdoor escalator on the left side of the museum.
Shinji 000 (30/09/2016 01:31)
A public park in the middle of the city, containing relics from the fort's past. Although some climbing is to be had, but there is surprisingly little mosquitoes around the area. Definitely a good place to be when you want to get out of the hustle and the bustle of the city.

Extremely beautiful Park, lots of interesting trees and information panels! Park is huge and you mainly walk around a reservoir. There's a small outdoor fitness location. There's lots to learn about Singapore's history from the bunker
Nikita Sinhal (25/08/2016 10:00)
A hidden green gem in the heart of the city. This place is gorgeous, uncrowded and offers something to the fitness buff or just someone looking for a walk in nature. There are some cultural spots along the paths to enjoy as well the restaurants in the main central building. Overall a very quite place and a nice place to getaway.
Jie Bo Ti (08/08/2016 08:22)
Pretty incredible. I preferred this park over botanical gardens because I felt that there are more historical artifacts in the park. The size is alot more manageable, only about 2km around the reservoir.
Denis Llagami (19/06/2016 02:25)
One of my favourite parks as it's in the city centre and convenient to get there. Has a real history, and it's just behind the National Museum.
Reuben Conceicao (01/06/2016 02:56)
Quite the hike but full of history, nature and excellent views of Singapore from a central location. It's free to walk around, but bring an umbrella, shades, water, mosquito repellent and wear your walking shoes. There are also guided tours but they cost about SGD 18 per head.
Brandon Shaun (21/04/2016 10:19)
Fort Canning is a wonderful place to learn bout Singapore's history. Very interesting and you can get a lot of information. It's also a good place to do research for school!

One of the best places in SG. Calm, well kept, lushy and peaceful. I like the contrast with the buzzing city all around! A must for a romantic walk at night :)

Find your calm in the middle of the bustling city! A park with history and beauty. If you want to head away from the happening Clarke Quay for a bit of breath and peace, head to its neighbor - Fort Canning Park. Not a popular spot for tourists, so its basically very less crowded at all times. Have a stroll to ease your mind, take in the beauty of the plantations and don't forget to breathe.
