Fresh sashimi selection. Food is tasty. No 10% service charge for dining in.

Very disappointed with the quality of the food this time round. I had five kind of fish.. Salmon, Hamachi, Kanpachi, Mekajiki and Tai and they were flat in taste. Probably the wrong day (Monday) to have Sashimi.
Kawaebi karaage were not deep fried enough so they were not crispy. At 5.30pm, there were only 4 tables of customers, service was slow and the staff were unapproachable and unfriendly.
Overall ... Truly disappointed.

Couldn't even get the staff's attention to get a table! Waited for a bit, the sushi prep guy saw me and looked to the floor staff, but they were each in their own worlds. Obviously not his responsibility, so he lost interest. Raised my hand indicating it was only a place for 1, eating customers saw me but still no response from the wait staff. Decided that although the fish quality is usually great, the level of service was so sleepy it wasnt worth the wait......and left.

Casual no frills dining concept. I liked the extensive menu. The salmon don was value for money. Service was fast even on a crowded Saturday night. The only thing I disliked was the green tea which tasted rather powdery.

Sakuraya is a casual restaurant in Parkway Parade, but there is something about it that makes it feel like a place for celebrating.
The mood is always jovial and the restaurant is almost always full. People love picking their own chunks of fish from the chiller to have the chef slice for them. They also have bottles of sake you can choose from the grocery store area.
For people who don't eat fish, there are not a lot of main menu options, so I usually order rice and a bunch of sides.
