Old army barracks that now houses several restaurants and cafes in a spread out area. Rustic feel and good place to gather for a meal or drinks and chat. Lots of variety from Western to Indian to Chinese food and there is even an Ice Cream outlet and a Butchery which houses an eatery. Some few units sell things like carpets and antiques. More for the adults to mingle as kids might get bored after eating.

Very nice environment and ambience. Only downside is the location, very deep inside. Not easy to access without a car.

No Halal Restaurant.. but view so nice, love it. It's okay just "jalan-jalan" and take pictures with your love ones.

Fab, one of the best soft play's I've been to. Certainly expensive (though I haven't been to others in Singapore to compare this against) but wonderfully clean, decent cafe, good facilities. 4-storey soft play. 4-storeys. Fab!

Loads of eating options, all pretty high end. This place is one of the best options if you want to celebrate special occasions in classy cafes and restaurants. There are some run of the mill restaurants like jumbo seafood also here, but most of the places are kinda one-off type of setups. As the name suggests it is in the middle of a green/ forest type area, which makes it accessible mainly through cars or cabs. This adds to the exclusivity of the place as well of course so not necessarily a negative. Be sure to make reservations wherever you decide to eat.

It is considered by many as one of those nice-but-kinda-out-of-reach restaurants, but don't let that mislead or deter you. Dempsey Hill is actually quite accessible, just beside the bus stop is a short path leading up to its first cluster of specialty shops. Walking further and around while deciding which cafe or restaurant you want to lounge in can be a nice afternoon/evening walk by itself. Many choices of cozy, romantic or casual restaurants here, so far those few I have tried are not disappointing, prices varying from $$$ to $$$$. And the atmosphere here can make you forget for a while that you're in busy industrious Singapore.

There are many nice restaurants here. There is a lot of good food here if you are willing and able to spend.

Elegant old styled town with high end resturant. The JUMBO SEAFOOD is located here which is a must do.....while in Singapore

Interesting old barracks, now a group of shopping outlets. Some high end arty places alongside traditional and imported craft barns. Worth a visit.

It's not shopping mall. It's the place that you can find many nice restaurants. The location is good and it might cause the food price pretty high.

Great upscale area with many restaurants and antique shops. Large parking space, but difficult to access without car or taxi.

Cool place with a ton of different great restaurants, shops, bars.
You absolutely have to try sammy's curry for an amazing Singapore Indian food mainstay and Don Quijote for some authentic Spanish tapas (great sangria included).

Quiet and serene. The environment and ambient are great. Feel like you are not in Singapore. Nostalgic feeling. Great place for a meal with family or friends as there are many restaurants here. Free parking as well.

We were waiting for the 12:42 from Singapore Botanical Gardens and the bus just cruised straight past a group of waiting passengers. He was empty and had no reason not to stop other than being too lazy to help load our baby's pram.

Invited a friend to join us for lunch this pm. Noticed only 2 other parties of which one party with kids was waiting for their food that was finally served. Our order arrived more than 30 minutes later. We only heard excuses when we inquired about the two outstanding items. First they brought the pasta dinner ordered by my friend while the two eggs benedicts were still being prepared. Folks in the kitchen were sloppy and not paying attention. Neither were the waiters who should have been checking with the kitchen. When we asked for the bill, it showed up within minutes. They did not realize that someone had dropped the credit card that was left near the cashier. Someone need to take ownership of this place. Service was lousy at best. What if the places was full? We received no value for our money!
