It was crowded when we arrived about noon on a Saturday. We sat at the bar seats in front of the coffee machine, which was a bit warm. We ordered two types of slow brewed coffee, which I did not really know how to appreciate. It is not the usual thick and bitter black coffee I like. The kale juice is of a nice shade of green and it taste really good. The breakfast sets are quite delicious and unique, albeit a little pricey. It’s not the best I ever had though. The last dish was a dessert called the almond cake - topped with salted caramel ice cream. I absolutely love it. The cake is soft, moist and warm. There are tiny bits of almond within the ice cream. Together with the sugared walnut at the side, it is a really enjoyable sweet treat.

It's got an elevated feel to it. More a food cafe than a coffee place. I got a standard milk coffee and a piece of their "healthy" cake for S$15. Bit on the upper side of prices, but probably due to location. Nice interior design. Don't come here if you want to have table privacy. There's barely any room between tables.

Always such a good experience here. The food is amazing and the coffee is excellent. Yes it is pricey, but I would gladly pay for good quality and good ambience always. I love that the staff is always on their feet. The minute my family got seated and started looking for a waiter, one of the guys at the coffee counter took notice and informed the ones on the floor straightaway. I was very impressed! Will come back for sure (also because their pancakes were to die for).

Whilst the coffee was really good, the service wasn't up to the standard you'd expect. On that note, we did go at 3pm on a Sunday, so after their busy period for the day. The staff just wanted to relax and get out of there and it was shown by the amount of staff hidden behind the bar just staring at the floor staff ignore the customers
While you're on shift, give 100% guys. At least acknowledge the customers waiting at the door that someone will be along shortly

So far, the best coffee that I found in Singapore. Tried the slow brew and it was excellent. Smooth and nutty.
Decided to try a light breakfast and went with the granola.
Definitely would come back. Lunch menu looks great.

One of the best coffee in Singapore with an excellent brunch menu. The cafe and staff here is dog friendly which is a plus. Would be nice if they refreshed their menu with some new dishes :)

The food was quite good albeit a little pricey. The portion was actually quite huge though. Coffee was great, the hot chocolate ain't bad either.
Got there on a weekday morning, at about 9.30am and it was still quite packed; considering a non-peak hour. So I guess, coming here on a weekend would be even more packed.
There are people who patronize the cafe for some business-related meet-ups/discussion, and there are plugs provided for you to use your gadgets so I guess, some people would stay a little longer with just a cup of coffee and maybe, you would have to wait for a little more since it's a great place for gatherings, or business talks.

Quite lucky to get a seat fast. Service is good. Food is nice. Coffee is good too. Nice place to chill on Sunday.

Must visit if you like a good brunch. The food is amazing, the portion sizes are filling and the ambience is worth spending a few hours. There might be some waiting during peak hours but the wait is worth it. Also fairly pricey. But still - worth it.

Nice brunch atmosphere. Good service despite the busy morning . Baby chair available, child friendly. Very pleasant presentation of food. I had the pancakes, it was good, but alil bit on the sweet side. My friends enjoyed their food as well. Expect price to be a little on the steep side. Lost a star because of that. Overall, lovely experience.

Food was good but nothing amazing. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe more! They have a lot of cool areas upstairs too that I would recommend checking out. There were 2 of us and we got it fairly quickly so go with smaller groups!

I've been to Common Man Coffee Roasters thrice and their food and coffee are, in my opinion, better than most other cafes in Singapore. The staff have also always been attentive and pleasant. However, their prices are pretty high, and it can get quite crowded on weekends.

Good range of coffee beans to choose from which are more acidic in flavour. Prefer the wonderland big breakfast as compared to the common man big breakfast as the pork sausage tasted slightly too meaty. Sourdough bread may be too tough for some thus remember to choose toast. Love their fluffy pancake with berries walnut and banana which doesn't have lots of syrup so it's not too sweet. Love their churros with dark chocolate dip too! Staff were all smiley and very helpful in recommending coffee beans. Thank you!
But I do wonder if the signboard really means what it states, "free coffee and doughnuts for the unemployed"???
Overall: I'm definitely coming back again!!!

Love the croissant and pancakes! Kale salad is good too, gotta add that chicken. Crowded as usual, a tad hard to get service too. Personally prefer an outdoor seat, sometimes there are dogs hanging around the outdoor seats while their owner dine, recommended!

Went here three times in one week. Outstanding service. Friendly and efficient. Food great too with high quality ingredients. No wonder they're so popular!

Lost a star for treatment of customers waiting for a table.
We were first in line at the 'wait to be seated' sign. Initially ignored then told to move to top of the stairs. Back to being ignored. Staff literally did not make eye contact, give an indication of wait times or say hello.
Once inside, service was slow, but friendly enough.
Food somehow came before coffee.
Food was excellent.
Coffee was aimed at connoisseurs who like a strong, heavy flavour. Milk texturing was good.
Appreciated the 'no pets', 'no smoking', 'no kidding' sign outside.

Fantastic coffee, cappuccino is one of the best ones I have had in Singapore. Breakfast is good but slightly on the expensive side. They have plenty of options on the menu and enough for vegetarians. Place wins on atmosphere, always crowded on weekends. The coffee and atmosphere takes us back.

Coffee is really decent here and the service is good. But the menu needs to rotate and the food quality has dropped a little over the last two years. It's always packed so people like it, and has a decent vibe.
Gary Buckmaster (28/06/2017 07:24)
We like to go here for brunch. It gets busy on weekends so arrive early. The food is great although the service can be a little pokey at times. Their coffee is some of the best in Singapore.
Angie Auyong (04/06/2017 10:52)
great coffee and brunch menu, but not quite for the common man.. we were there to celebrate our friend's birthday.. they charged a cakeage fee and just gave us the cake without serving it.. that kind of an ending was just kind of distasteful..

Ambience - 4.5/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 4.5/5
Price - 4/5
While you wait for your table on a Sunday morning, the staff ensures a quick turn around time. The portions are decent but price is on the higher side. One of the best places for Sunday brunch. It's definitely buzzing with people!

This place is a hidden gem. One of the best brunches in Singapore. I tried their Sauteed Kale with egg white scrambled with parmesan shavings and chillied chicken on the sides. Yum! Their freshly squeezed celery apple juice was nice as well
Tim Watkins (18/05/2017 03:32)
Amazing food! The baked eggs is absolutely spectacular, so much going on in each bite!
Coffee is spectacular too! Well worth a visit for breakfast.

Great brunch and coffee. My standard is the big breakfast plate. They are also very accommodating for kids and groups.
Karen Eyth (04/03/2017 15:50)
This incredible gem offers some of the most amazing food to be had in Singapore. Our little group had quite a spread, from the hungry man and pancakes to the ox tail Benedict and the fresh juice. Everything was outstanding. The hungry man breakfast was ridiculously delicious! Ox tail Benedict is...are you serious? The juice hit the spot but was extremely pricy relative to its size. Make sure to pick up a cup of coffee; these people know how to make coffee. Overall, very highly recommend. ($$$$)

if you're visiting singapore, make sure to spend a little time here. wonderful small cafe where coffee is the star. the breakfast menu is amazing - and is served all day. high on the list of yum is the veggie wonderland and the green pea fritters. i loved the variety of coffee and while i don't normally dig cold coffee - common man baristas make it work.
Evan Leybourn (14/01/2017 17:58)
It's been a while since I've been here, but the food is as lovely as ever. I especially love their chips - the best in Singapore. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, their iced chocolate is pretty good.

Quality brunch place with amazing coffee. Really can't get much better than Common Man Coffee Roaster for a weekend brunch. All the menu items are tastefully executed, especially their homemade bread that will leave you wanting for more. Portions are generous as well. Even though the place is quite spacious, be prepared to line up during peak hours. They seems to have a never ending crowd :)

Great atmosphere and service, delightful coffee and well prepared dishes. Really enjoyed the medium rare cook on the beef patty and the burger as a whole. A little on the pricey end but well worth it in the end.

Superb brunch spot, at a very quaint neighborhood. Serves awesome coffee, and great tasty food. Although it's a tad bit crowded, the service was very well done and the whole environment was simply amazing. Come with a partner, come with a group of friends. Heck. Come alone and be placed next to other awesome people at the common table - make some friends, read a book, have some good food!

A very popular and busy place but definitely worth waiting for a table. Great menu and the meals were delicious. Fantastic place for coffee! During busy periods, you may get informed you only have 2 hours limit to dine which is a perfectly standard practice (and removes people who just likes to sit down chatting and not letting other waiting patrons to get their turn). Love this place. Definitely come in early!
