Nice little old school cafe, we tried the fried rice ($6.50), pork cutlet with mushrooms ($13.90), and curry chicken with rice and potato ($13.90). It’s on the pricier side but they offer large servings which can be shared among a few people.

Nice location and old colonial facility. The menu is kind of limited, and the taste of the food is not that great.
But it is very nice to sit outside for lunch and enjoy a bit of relaxed nature in the middle of lots of buildings.
There is reasonable amount of street side parking available around in the area, either right next to the cafe / restaurant or in the surrounding roads.
There is a bit of open area to reach the restaurant so keep your umbrellas handy on a rainy day.
The food prices are reasonable for the location

Hidden gem with a rustic charming atmosphere, a little out of the way. Good old fashion western food and Chinese dishes. Prices a little on the high side. Nice place to bring furry friends as it's a pet friendly eatery.

Rustic little place that escaped eviction due to land development plans by moving to its current location yet maintaining most of its original image. Simple home cooked flare with a varied international craft beer on offer. The place is popular among the western population, especially on weekends, after kids sports practises at the nearby field. Weekend morning to lunch time are usually crowded. Late afternoon is quiet. Quaint place to escape into the greenery.

What a hidden gem and sanctuary in the city! How easy to turn back the clock with a Hainanese-style Western meal here! Soothing ambience, friendly staff and tasty food. The only downside was the pricey cider.

Away from the city, very peaceful and comfortable! The price of foods are reasonable ant not expensive. Suitable for meditation alone, or family, or friends together.

Nice place for local Hainanese-style "Western food". Food is generally good; drinks are a little expensive. Rustic environment (read: no aircon). A place that brings you back in time...

An immersive experience of Singapore from decades ago. Food is great and reasonably priced - fantastic atmosphere and ideal for large groups of friends, family or colleagues. The premises is also dog-friendly.

My absolute favourite place in Singapore for more than a decade. Whenever I am in town I try and make a point of going at least once. Open air, no frills, basic food and cold beer. A uniquely Singaporean treasure.

Great getaway from the busy city crowd. Food price is slightly high but for the ambience and nice chilling place. Definitely a must go place.

Ordered the beef liver sandwich and bacon with eggs. Definitely not a disappointment. Environment-wise, it gives a colonial feeling. But overall experience could have been better if they provide for baby chair.

This is a classic spot tucked away in Singapore. Nice food, always made to order. Great to grab a beer and chat with friends. Americans, cashew chicken just like home!

Average food, lovely ambience. Very nostalgic and peaceful feel. Too often we just go to air con eateries and cannot soak up the atmosphere of the surrounding nature. This one allowed you to in a comfortable setting.

Colbar is a good cozy place for drinking, eating and catching up friends. They have a good selection of British beers. I and friends like the Honey Dew and India Pale Ale. The menu has a great varieties of western foods. They also serve popular Hainanese foods like Hainanese pork chop which is not in the menu. The gravy goes well with white rice. The place brings back old memories of my army days where I went to the canteen to have supper after the lousy dinner from the army cookhouse.

Back to the future has nothing on this bar. As you step through the door way you are greeted with the old weighing scales. The Auntie behind the bar adds your bill up via an old notepad with mental arithmetic, no calculators here. Menu is a throw back to the colonial age with classic such as the fried egg or marmite sandwich. Good selection of British beers from brewers such as Black Sheep and Timothy Tailor.

Best chips (English Style) in Singapore. Good selection of beers. Popular for its homely Western food as well as local dishes you don't often find elsewhere these days!

Dined here tonight and was pleasantly surprised by the entire operation, from the owner greeting us with a very friendly smile upon entering, the taste and quality of the food, the best selection of ciders on all of Singapore, and the ambiance that truly made us feed like we had stepped back in time. Are the prices quite high? Yes! However, no dollar figure can be placed on the experience--how much money would you pay to dine at grandma's house during a time immediately following WWII? I would pay Mrs. Lim's asking price in a heartbeat; she is probably also the sweetest Singaporean with the biggest smile on the entire island. If you're looking to dine at grandma's and feel like a local, please don't hesitate to check this place out. We will return for sure and are very much looking forward to it--to the fried rice, chicken curry, and ho fun with gravy! The meal wouldn't be complete without a nice cider to wash it all down.

Like taking a trip back in time. Chill quiet place to grab a quick bite or pint. Decent selection of UK ciders and beers. Good place to get away from it all

Post colonial eatery. Just the right amount of frills to meet some old friends or to introduce new friends.
Lots of history on the walls. Polite and efficient service.

Simple old school British pub grub mixed with local stuff. Nice place to have a bite or a drink. Don't expect anything fancy. Purely no frills
