Small lodging for backpackers. Nice and helpful receptionist.
Hot water and washing machine are available.
Located near Clark Quay MRT station, easy to access.
Only 800 meters walk to merlion park.

- few minutes walk to/from Clarke Quay MRT/Clarke Quay Central
- self-check in available for guests arriving early morning; reception not 24x7
- rooms with air conditioning but ineffective for dorm-type
- bed sheets are clean and changed after check-out but there are bugs crawling on the bed and wall
- mini lamps installed per bunk bed; some not working
- appropriate number of restrooms and bathrooms but need to shake off clothing due to small insects
- free bread with spread and tea/coffee for breakfast; drinking water also available; no refrigerator
- lockers are available in the room; no clothesline
- wash areas available per floor but need to ensure that there's working light bulbs

6yrs ago me and my friends 4 of us girls, we stayed here and the place was nice and clean.. We even brag to our friends that the place is cheap and clean, worth to stay for people travelling with budget. Then, just a month ago, me and my friend visited Singapore again(one of the 3girls I travelled with 6yrs ago). As its only 2nights, we thought why not lets just stay here again.. and when we reached Hongkong Street, we cannot find the building at all. We actually thought that we are being cheated by the online booking websites. Until we found it, the door was small (6yrs ago their reception is quite big, separated to the dorms building), then we go to the 2nd floor where the reception supposed to be in. And no once is there, the room is dark and mouldy and just a note and key stated that we go directly to our room. (We arrived at 12.30am). We go to our room any my friend said "er.. why is the place dirty like this? Are u sure its the same one?" And I was like "yes sis.. positive thinking..maybe its just the outside u know.." and when we opened the door, we were both stunned.. the room was dark, mouldy, the sofa has no cover at all, the AC smells and the bed cover is so dirty like its been used and not changed.. then we discuss that we may force ourself to just stay 1 night and change hotel the next day.. our hands are busy with browsing online booking sites for hotels that is clean and affordable.. we both are willing to pay more exp than this.. then I suddenly saw a bed bug crawling on the bed.. and I told my bestfriend "you know wad, lets move out today, lets move to the clover 7 hotel in the end of the road..its more exp, but I will pay ur part if u think its too exp, than we force ourselves to stay here, then we'll both be in a bad mood for the concert tomorrow" and she was confuse and ask me "why?" And I said "coz I swear, I just saw 2 bed bugs crawling on the bed.." andd we just jumped out, leave the keys on the reception basket thing and just left.. we dun care bout the money we've paid for it anymore.. seriously, if anyone consider to live here, AVOID THIS PLACE.. its really bad.. don't waste ur money here.. better go somewhere else, pay a little more but you will have a good rest after a late night flight.. I so don't recommend this place to anyone..

Its ok for its price. There is no elevator though so if you're bringing a big luggage then you will have to carry it using the stairs.

Fitria Knisa (20/08/2017 08:49)
Very strategic place. Easy to get to MRT or tourist site by walking. But the reception was not 24 hours, so when you need to so early check-out, you need to say good by to your deposit. The toilet also sometimes smells bad

Cheap hotel, common restrooms and shower. Front desk is only available from 8am to 8pm.

Angie Gubbels (27/05/2017 10:03)
The reception area is up the first flight of stairs in a small lobby area. There is a key deposit required in cash of SGD $10, which you get back at the end. Their is a bit of an odd smell in the area similar to mothballs. Our room was a level up and we stayed in a private two bed dorm. The room felt safe and was secure, which was important for us as female travellers. The room was small, but clean and had air-conditioning with a view of the street below. The bathroom/shower area located towards the back of that level was not very clean and also had a weird smell (not of toilets as you would expect).

Breakfast was included, but it consisted of white bread and tea/instant coffee. We opted to eat out due to the options.

If checking out early, stop by th desk and checkout to receive your room deposit back and then leave the key in the morning in the basket. The desk is only open certain hours of the day.

Reasonable prices hostel/guesthouse. Shared bathroom and all rooms have AC. We didn't like the showers, no soap supplied and it was somehow dirty. It is a great value though very centrally located (couple meters away from Clark Quay MRT)

A decent place. Only toilet is a bit small. Not suitable for ppl wth BMI more than 25

Luis Zabala (01/03/2017 20:21)
stop tagging this as 5-star hotel

Warm and cozy place. We stay here for 4 nights. people are friendly. This place is near mtr, department store also clarke quay so it's very convenient for us. Breakfast is not enough someday.

Hoàng Huy (04/09/2015 17:05)
Good service with this price but you should check the wifi connection on the 4th floor.

Bernard Simon (17/11/2014 16:16)
Its not just a hostel, its a home❤ 🏠, when you need direction you would really feel how the staff are willing help 👩👨, breakfast is trully a breakfast, bread, spread, jam, coffee, tea, fresh milk, cereals☕🍶🍞, near to shopping malls🏫, near mrt station 🚈🚋🚊, near to food shops🍴🍢🍸🍷, more over a place where you feel like a family 👪

Felysia Istiqomah (31/10/2014 06:43)
Good hostel with affordable price. Indeed nothing to expect more rather than its cheap price.

Expat Pete (17/02/2014 14:09)
Inattentive staff, unreliable lighting, bathrooms were a little dirty and had birds living above them; but considering it was cheap (even for Singapore) I guess I got what I paid for...
