I come here often for dinner as I stay nearby. This is my favourite food centre. There are lots of good food and variety.

This place is getting a bit over rated and it is always crowded. Almost impossible to find a place to sit. People usually go there in big groups and you have to wait very long to find free seats for the entire group. Many youngsters there. Food wise I feel that you can find better tasting ones elsewhere. But there is still this hype about this place.

Chomp Chomp was the BEST hawker lockers I had during my stay in Singapore. My family told me it was where they ate growing up, which was nearly 20 years earlier, and the food was still just as amazing! The place is clean, well serviced and inexpensive. They also had a larger variety of foods than the majority of other markets I had been too. Some must haves are the chili crab and satay!

Good place with a lot of local food. Price is reasonable too. Hard to gets seats though and can be very warm at times.
VisitJohore (29/04/2018 11:26)
Compact food court plenty of eatery. It was recently refurbished. There are a number of stalls selling seafood; grilled squid, fish etc. Price is similar to other food court of such. Finding a seating place can be challenging during peak hours. Nearest bus stop is only a 1min away.

Maybe the best food court in Singapore. The selection is limited but what is on offer, is exceptional. Come early or come late, there is always something tasty to be had.

I mean, iconic place in Singapore, after renovation the ventilation is much better than before. The stingray price is a tad higher as compared to other places but its definitely worth it for its atmosphere

Usual characteristic of a hawkers centre. Good food, cheap price. If you don't mind the crowd and stuff, great place to go.

This has been my go to spot for some great local cuisine. Well located and accessible, great variety of food and very popular among us Singpaoreans. Sugarcane juice is a must try along with popiah, satay and great variety of seafood.
Great job at having clean toilets and extending the seating.
The photo below is their carrot cake which I tried for the first time and it was really tasty!
Sam Soh (23/02/2018 21:19)
The food and drinks are well cooked and tasty - the centre gives a local vibe (good thing!) and less touristy. Though the seats can be a challenge to find (there were only two of us!). Prices seem reasonable from my perspective.

Lots of good food here! One of the more popular hawkers in Singapore. It can be extremely crowded during peak hours and will take you quite some time to get a seat. They sell sugarcane drink in really large portions and its quite worth it to share it with your friends. If you haven't visited here, you should give it a try! Can Google to see which stalls are better since many stalls sell the same things.
Derek Chua (23/12/2017 03:57)
Quality local food at this small food centre. Very suitable for tourists and locals alike!
However, the prices here have gotten a bit steeper and expect to spend at least 1.5 times for for food and drinks here as compared to the same food in other Hawker centres.
It is still however worth it to come by as they have some of the best seafood dishes and BBQ stalls!
(It gets crowded even on weekdays and there’s quite limited seating, so if you are in a big group come early to get seats and especially if it’s a weekend)
Patrick Teo (29/11/2017 12:59)
A lot better than in past years which was a lot more smoky from the cooking of food. I suppose it's the improved extraction fans. Clean toilet facilities including chaining station for infants. Still as crowded as ever.
Clifton Kor (27/11/2017 04:52)
Satay bee hoon is not bad. Hot and fresh. But I prefer the one at ciyuan. The drink cups are huge and the sting ray is fantastic
Anders Eriksson (09/11/2017 04:50)
This is definitely one of the best hawker centers in Singapore. Unlike most hawker centers, Chomp Chomp is open late evenings. I recommend to try sambal stingray from one of the several stalls here that sells it, quality has been good in all I have tried.
shu ying tay (30/10/2017 04:55)
Hawker centres in Singapore usually offer a wide variety of local food at cheap prices. Generally, the food sold there are for those who are there to fill their stomachs, and do not mind the inflated prices for hawker food. Definitely not a place to go for fussy food connoisseurs seeking value-for-money local cuisine. Well-ventilated and no longer the hot and stuffy place it used to be prior to renovations. Nevertheless, do exercise caution as the floor can get a bit slippery due to oil and mess.
Luke Phang (20/10/2017 07:22)
The place where you can find food that makes Singapore special. Seating is quite hard to come by during peak hours and the styrofoam plates have the tendency to be blown off the table by strong gusts from the fan, but the food tastes awesome.
Recommend the stalls near the back of the food center as their quality tend to be better than the popular stalls near the entrance.
Paul Cranch (28/08/2017 02:54)
One of the best Hawker stands in Singapore. Love the Sugar Cane drinks and food is great. A little way out of the centre of Singapore. Try the Stingray it is also great.
Feng Feng (25/08/2017 03:37)
Some stalls still offer nice food. Touts can get irritating at times. Seating capacity is pathetic given its recent upgrading works
Androo456 (01/08/2017 03:56)
Authentic Singapore experience! Outdoor food court, no AC, hot AF, crazy packed, a hundred different Kitchens going full tilt filling the air with the delicious aromas of a hundred different delicacies and the sound of store reps spruiking their wares, assuring customers that they are the best store there. Love it.
Alvin Wong (30/07/2017 14:52)
Love this place! The sugar cane hits the spot. Would love a few more stalls that sells different things thou. Cos most of them sell the same things!
Chris Tan (24/06/2017 13:03)
A lot of great Singapore style food. It is crowded on weekends and only opens for dinner. Try the BBQ seafood, chicken wings, the big sugar cane dispenser, rojak, fried carrot cake and so on.
It's open air and humid so come in comfortable wear.
WAYNE LEE (14/06/2017 00:49)
A lot people enjoying food here. Price is acceptable, but must reach here earlier than dinner time for good seat.
Elaine Phua (08/06/2017 06:41)
always crowded, and its so hard to find a parking space. food is still relatively affordable and not really overpriced. but the congestion there kinda killed the mood.
Aurelius Yeo (14/05/2017 15:13)
Great selection of local food in one place. However, the quality of food is considered as average by most locals. The fried Hokkien noodles are nice and are better appreciated by connoisseurs of pork lard.
Hue Tran (13/05/2017 06:41)
Great food, fresh seafood, lovely ambience. Price is reasonable/ a bit high but worth for the food.
A bit difficult to get for table for group >4. Simply because so many people!
V N (24/04/2017 03:59)
Love the hokkien mee, bbq chicken wings and satay beehoon stalls. Alas, place is always smoky and crowded. Avoid weekends!
Jo Tro (04/03/2017 15:18)
One of my fave hawker centers here. Good food at affordable prices
gigi chui (04/03/2017 08:33)
Great selection of food, local Singaporean recommend me to go there and i was not disappointed. It's good place to go to if you want some unique local food, shop there can speak English so no communication problem. Just don't expect any fancy environment, it is also pretty crowed during dinner hours when I went there
Christopher Seow (16/02/2017 00:57)
This hawker serve the best oyster omelette. It have nice barbeque smell on the weekends.
Hob Oh (27/01/2017 01:08)
Large choice of foods. Nice vibe. You'll remember eating here- you'll smell of the place, no matter where you sit! Oh, and try sitting al fresco (outside)- its not so hot and stuffy!
Canice Tee (28/11/2016 07:55)
Favourite place for BBQ stingray after work as they open till quite late. Loves e sugarcane juice too ~
But prepare to go home smelling BBQ if u sit indoor. We did as it's hard to find sits for our big group.
Benseun Kwek (27/10/2016 18:25)
The Hokkien noodle store was introduced by my father. I recall him saying: "when I was your age (16) the owner was frying already. Everytime after school I always come here eat." Now my dad is 51. The uncle cooks a good dish. Everytime I bring foreign friends and gatherings, it's always the store between 3 Chicken Wing Store.
For tourists, dont mind the dirtiness (not really), and crowd. Good food waits for no one. And worth the sacrifice. I'm a very hygienic person myself. Hehe
Gerald Burns (21/10/2016 16:47)
Most people come here for the sambal stingrays, satay(meat skewers), grilled chicken wings. carrot cake and hokkien mee. Be prepared to stalk for a seating place if you're coming in a group unless you arrive really early, as the seating area is somewhat limited.
Shinji 000 (19/10/2016 02:05)
The go to place when you think of bringing vistors to a hawker centre in Serangoon Gardens. They are famous for some dishes, such as finger food (chicken wings), hokkien fried noodles. The main issue is limited seating available and relatively smoky environment, just gotta prepare yourself for that before going.
Celesta Smilez (11/10/2016 15:15)
Great food and place for seafood, drinks and slack. However food here is limited but i can assure that you wont be disappointed! The food here is good, but you will have to find the right stalls to eat. Bad point: really pushy water vendors! Will keep asking you until you buy something~
Jonathan yeo (23/08/2016 02:52)
Can be very crowded during peak hours. Try to get the outer seats as the inner seats can be consumed by fumes from the stores. stores who tend to generate more fumes should invest in better equipment to eradicate the cooking fumes to have a better experience.
the portion of food given is surprisingly a lot and I was satisfied though i paid more than the norm. There is a variety of bars. restaurants and eateries in the vicinity.
Cheryl Lim (08/07/2016 15:58)
A local favorite for hawker foods like BBQ seafood, hokkien mee and char kway teow. Prices have gone up quite alot over the years unfortunately, and standard doesn't seem to be keeping pace. Be prepared to smell like BBQ smoke after a meal here!
george ng (08/07/2016 10:03)
Good local hawker food at reasonable prices. Hokkien mee, satay, fried carrot cakes, fried oysters, barbecue chicken wings etc are great stuff here. A bit hot and limited settings. At weekends, people queue for seats. An alternative is the East Coast Park Food Village at East Coast Park which sells similar fare at lower prices.
Eric Leng (07/07/2016 10:29)
Hard to park car and hard to find table. The place is smokey and crowded. Smell like food after meals. But most stalls offer good local delights. Just avoid stalls with no queue and you shouldn't be disappointed.
Christian Weller (05/07/2016 06:09)
Excellent local food! The Hokkien prawn mee are great, as well as the Satay and the Sambal stingray. You must find a good seat in the rear corner to fully enjoy, or you will be engulfed by smoke.
Lawrence Lau (09/06/2016 09:13)
All the good hawker food in one place! The satay is flavorful and tender, and comes with the peanut gravy with a dollop of pineapple puree. The fried oyster with egg is another good one - juicy small-medium sized oysters! Just make sure that you specify the price (size) of sugar cane juice you want to order.
