I'm a fan of architecture this garden caught my attention, firstly it's themed Chinese and Japanese style, you've a turtle pond where you can feed the turtles at a charge, garden it's good a nice place to sit and relax, it has a metro station with the same name but quite a distance from downtown.

It's been a few decades since I visited Chinese Garden. Surprise surprise. There's Japanese Garden and many more updates since. Take a photo and tell your friends, wife and family that you're in China, they can't tell the difference. Walk in and the left side us Chinese Garden, on the right it's Japanese Garden. If you have the stamina, climb up the Pagoda and shoot the photos of your experience in Singapore Chinese Garden.

All this while I thought Chinese Garden is a normal park near Chinese Garden. But i was proven otherwise, its a good photo opportunity. I spend 2 - 3hrs, great ambience. The park is very near to Chinese Garden MRT Station. There is Live Tortoise Museum where you can visit for a fee. Opens from 5.30am to 11pm.

It's good to see a beautify cultural garden here. It's a good size with lots of grass fields and trees. You can see a lot of people having picnics in the park. There is also a small Turtles Museum here which held Guinness world records for collection of most turtle types. These is also a Japanese garden within the Chinese garden.

Loved walking or biking there. Bonsai garden is inside the chinese part, but there is also a Japanese garden connected by a white bridge. Check the opening hours and pay attention to avoid the central hot hours.

Construction ongoing but still worth a visit. Bike around or just walk and see interesting flora and fauna. We spotted a 2m long monitor lizard waddling to the water and swimming. Many jogging or exercising. Discover the 3 pagodas. Go during mooncake festival when there are huge lantern displays. Accessible from Chinese Garden or Lakeside MRT stations.

Much scenery, only problem here is parking. You must park far away and walk all the way there. Might have more parking since I have been there. Managed to even capture a rainbow there. 🌈

So many beautiful photo opportunities here! Very scenic and peaceful. Only thing that would make this place better is the presence of a restaurant/coffee shop on site. Very underrated gardens. Love both the Chinese and Japanese sides.

A very quiet and peaceful place to be in. I have certainly enjoyed my visit here as not only was I able to see the nice scenic view, I also learnt quite a bit from the statues. Moreover the place itself is picturesque, so people who enjoy taking photos would defintely want to come here. It's also a great place for jogging and cycling due to there being not much human traffic going on.

As someone who lives near the gardens and lake, I cannot stress this enough, to enjoy the beautiful gardens in all their glory and in peace, go by 8-9am latest on weekends. Trust me on that. It is the most recharging and zen-filled experience. Do check out the Japanese gardens there too. Climb to the top of the pagoda to soak in the view. Visit the bonsai gardens. Enjoy!

Quiet and unique place that doesnt get enough love -better for me then. You can easily spend an entire afternoon walking from garden to garden so pack a picnic lunch as well. Bonsai garden was really cool. Tortoise museum was interesting.

The garden is very big. Very green and peaceful. You can spend at least half a day here. The Bonsai Garden has trees from 1700's. Th lake, bridge everything looks very good.
There is also a cricket ground outside the garden.

Love going there for a jog! There's really many photo spots and scenic spots in the garden itself. It's huge and it is a true hidden gem in Singapore. It's actually so much bigger than Singapore Botanical Gardens

Nice garden. Very peace. A lot of love bird under the tree and behind the wall. Haha...but just avoid them and enjoy your walking and feel nature. Love it...

Very big park with Chinese and Japanese culture. Good place to spend your free time at Singapore. You can picnic or jogging or cycling in this area. Very comfortable
Diah Setianingsih (04/09/2017 05:34)
A perfect place to spend your free time. You can just take a walk, go jogging, or even have a meal around this place. There are so many beautiful plants with many great architecture buildings inside the garden.
Giovanna Pino (06/08/2017 16:02)
Really pretty place to walk around however don't go in the middle of the day as the heat is horrendous. There's plenty of area to walk around and different sites to see. I personally enjoy the Chinese garden more than the Japanese garden as it had more things to see.
If you go on a Sunday please note that the Indian and Filipino workers have the day off and they like to spend their time there under the shaded area. If this bothers you I suggest not going on a Sunday as they like to picnic there which may interrupt some of your photo taking. I have no issue with this I'm solely mentioning it as a precaution to photographers and visitors from other countries.

Really enjoyed the peaceful and calmness of this place. It was great for an evening stroll. I saw plenty of runners around too. Beautiful scenery. Not many colorful flowers though. But still beautiful to behold. There is construction going on close by but it doesn't ruin the ambience too much.

It's been many years since I last visited Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. It's open from 5.30 am, great for fresh air, jogging, walking and cycling too.
The sunset is beautiful. If you are lucky, you can see monitor lizards, squirrels flying cranes too.

Quaint little park connected to Japanese Gardens, with a large lake in between, this charming little park attracts locals & tourists alike and gets crowded over weekends. The theme in this garden is of Chinese heritage with pagodas that you can climb to the top for a better view, a segregated area specifically for bonsai plants, the many mythological creatures representing the Chinese zodiac and even historical and mythical characters of ancient folklore. Managed by JTC, the staff has done a really good job maintaining the greens and facilities. Festive time will be a treat as they will have more exhibits to see and experience.

Beautiful, clean, well maintained and spacious garden. Best of all there's no entrance fee. If you only want to see one garden while in Singapore, I would choose the Botanic Gardens, but Chinese Garden is in my opinion more relaxing.
Yolanda Wijayanti (06/05/2017 08:27)
A nice, spacious place to visit. Good spots for taking pictures available. Consider visiting this place around sunset or early in the morning, since the weather can be quite sunny and hot.

Can't wait for the new Jurong regional park to be ready. Chinese Garden is actually man made and the only highlight is perhaps its pagoda. It has a good view of the surrounding.

Loved it!!! A very spacious park... Very clean.. Trees and plants are well maintained.. The entrance is free.. A must visit place in Singapore.

This is like an under in Singapore's garden department, but Chinese and Japanese gardens have their own charm and make Singapore proud along with the others in the genre. Incredibly scenic, calm and huge. One can get lost in the tranquility of the Chinese garden or in the picturesque postcard views of the Japanese bonsai garden. Only con maybe that it's far west and in a corner of the city.

Great place to escape from busy routine and relax. Had a great time feeding fishes and squirrels.
Vignesh Tamilan (28/02/2017 04:29)
I was at The Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden with my family and was pleasantly surprised at the tranquility and quaintness of the place in particular the Chinese mansion an exact replica of those one sees in China.

Beautiful location. In addition to the amazing architecture, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the immaculate gardens and take in the tranquillity of it all. No cost to enter, limited facilities but there are public toilets and water fountains throughout the gardens

Always outstanding and clean gardens. Something so relaxing about wandering through the gardens when not crowded. Of course the display for Lantern Festival is awesome.

Had so much fun at there. My mum loves the place setting, poetic scenery, peaceful environment. Saw lot of joggers in the morning

So serene and brings peace to mind. An unimaginable natural beauty in middle of a bussy urban centre. The air is pure and cool. Very quiet except the birds chirps.

I was mega jet lagged and decided to visit the Chinese garden instead of staring at my hotel wall. I arrived at the Chinese garden MRT station at 7 am and was immediately captivated by the sunrise behind the Jurong East apartment towers. It was honestly the prettiest scene I saw in Singapore. Inside the garden is a 7 story pagoda you can climb, lots of greenery, walking paths, lakes, and various other structures. It was quiet and peaceful, and I would probably visit everyday if I lived in the area.

If Chinese culture is your cup of tea, this is one of the places which you must head to. It is very peaceful and scenic, especially at night. And where better to sip tea and enjoy mooncakes while admiring the moon than at one of the many pavilions here?

Good place to get pokemons. Dratini, dragonites and magikarps. Haven seen a lapras or snorlax yet. But till the time comes
Je Tesg (14/08/2016 07:06)
Quaint and peaceful setting with so much greenery and fresh air. Get to the top of the pagoda for a sweeping view. There are many interesting exhibits like the Confucius statue as well. The place is linked to the Japanese Gardens by a bridge. Recently became very popular as a Pokemon Go hangout given the numerous pokestops and lures.

This park is huge, you might want to wear comfortable soles. It is very accessible via the Chinese Garden MRT.
Be sure not to miss the Temples by the lake, turtle garden and the zodiac garden.

Very well maintained and refreshing place in the city . When I visited it was drizzling it just added more joy to it. Got a chance to see alligators in the pool I'm the middle of garden and in the banks of jurong river. The ancient Chinese people, warriors and zodiac status were awesome. There is a turtle and fish museum in the open pond, where you can feed to the fish. It was very nice to see the fishes and tortoises eat the food (most of the ppl feed them bread, luckily I have got one packet with me that day). I would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful gardens, well manicured lawns next to the lake, and many shady trees with good architecture inside. Weekends can get busy, crowded and noisy here with many expats coming to unwind, relax and play sports.

Chinese and Japanese gardens are a vastly underrated attractions in Singapore. With so much of entertainment available through Malls and Theme parks, Chinese garden is generally given a miss by busy tourists. It is a shame, because this beautifully landscaped garden is a real treat for nature lovers. The views from the top of the Pagoda are beautiful and gives a birds eye view of this large garden. The Japanese garden is much more minimalistic, but has a charm of its own.

In need for a revamp to inject more 'life' into it. It will be merged with the Jurong Lake Park and Japanese Garden by 2020 to form the Jurong Lake Gardens. The Science Centre will also be located within the premise. Exciting future indeed.
