Place to go for your pepper crab fix, nightly recommend the bamboo clam and steamed prawn vermicelli dishes as well as the stir fried beef..

Generally good food, but a mis-comm and complency and poor response between eaiting staff and kitchen resulted in one of my orders coming out late

Very fresh seafood. We booked the private room for my dad’s birthday. Superb service and free wine corkage. The Sri Lankan crabs were very fresh. The stewed pork knuckle was surprisingly good! The manager suggested we spilt the fish into two portions to cook. One deep fried one with all the bones and the stir fried one for the kids. Will be back again!

Chin Huat is a legacy neighborhood seafood destination. Unlike other seafood places in Singapore, Chin Huat also serves a very very good roast suckling pig. The pig is done on site and when you bite into that crunchy skin and the barely holding together fat melts in your mouth, you know you've discovered something special, and that perhaps today might be a very very very good day to be alive! The seafood here is decent and worth the trip and the money. I recommend the salted egg crab which is decadence in a dish. It couldn't be more decadent if it was covered in gold. Worth every cholesterol point, and why Lipitor was invented!

We'd been going to Sunset Way for years but never knew about this place until recently. We came on a Sunday evening and it was fully booked inside with many tables outside filled up as well. The waiters we met were friendly and easy-going (some restaurants the waiters are very stressed during peak hour and end up making customers feel stressed with all their running around) and could give good recommendations. We ordered their specialty, crab in pumpkin and curry leaf gravy. It was very good, and was like a lighter version of salted egg crab. The pork ribs were good as well. The three-egg spinach dish was not bad. The coconut ice-cream dessert was very good - coconut ice-cream and coconut jelly in a whole coconut with lots of soft meat. The orh nee was not fantastic - nicely done but nothing compared to Beng Hiang's excellent orh nee. To top everything off, every baby that passed by our table was exceptionally cute. At least 4 babies passed by our table that night.

1.1kg Sri Lankan Crab in golden sauce (pumpkin salted egg yolk). Taste good but personally feel that the batter coated on crab is too much.

Hei. Beef and Veal is really tender. Black pepper style is highly recommended! As for the seafood, my first choice would be the Alaskan crab, followed by crabs n lobster. Finally make sure u try the coconut pudding! It's Da Bomb!..

Yesterday, first time i had dinner here with my family and friends. We ordered prawn, crab, noodles, vegi and beer for 12 adults and 10 kids. Total bill is only 400+. Good live seafood, reasonable price and friendly servicing team. Will surely come back again

Live seafood Chinese cuisine located at a housing area, food are delicious, seafood are very fresh, they have huge size seafood which hardly find in Singapore, we had crabs and lobster. Price are reasonable however they have too many tables and insufficient staff. Service were greatly compromised.
Value of Money: $$$$.

The beef wagyu is excellent. I dont really like their pumpkin sauce crab. But overall it's good food here

Never coming back. The food was good. Service was efficient. Staff was attentive. So what's missing? The lack of professionalism and some decency at the end of the service. I was told that my seating for 8 pax was from 6 to 7.30pm. I acknowledge that it was alright over the phone. I was informed multiple times. I have no issues. We arrived slightly before 6. Did all the important crab orders over the phone in the afternoon. The 3 different crab dishes arrived at 7. But by 7pm the group that supposedly have their reservation at 7.30 arrived. And it was a party of 40 or so taking the indoor tables around me and my table. The staff started rushing and clearing our plates and our table extensively, by 7.15 the waiter came over and told us we had to go cause someone is celebrating their birthday and they are here. Brought the bill to us at our table when we didnt even ask for it. It was my mother and brother's birthday too. So how do you prioritize who is more important? Thats not the way to treat any of your paying customers. We had to struggle to leave asap. My poor siblings were still eating while the waiter cleared everything around us and most of us were standing up and rushing to get out. Can you imagine how horrible that is? I went to the cashier to settle the bill. And the waiter told the lady boss. " ya ya theyre leaving already cleared everything they will leave soon" im at the cashier with some of my family members. Have some decency please. If you couldnt take our reservation please be honest, let me know if i should be coming in earlier and give us a better alternative maybe relocate us? Maybe not give us our crabs 15 minutes before we had to leave? Im not upset that it was 15mins before 7.30pm but the fact that the way you guys handle it was to make it your customer's problem when you cant manage. You could have sat the party who came early to other side of the restaurant that was empty, gave them some tea. Rather than allow them to crowd all around our table and wait and look at us. We're not the viewing gallery at the zoo. 480 bucks later and 8 pissed off adults. Thanks guys! I was so excited to bring my family from a good experience in feb. Never seeing yall again.

Enjoyed the Golden Crab for the first time. Most unusual lightly spicy pumpkin sauce. Make sure you have the buns to accompany it so you don't waste the sauce!

I seldom comment on noodles but this e-fu noodles oozes wok hei or nice wok work.. I've eaten a lot of pepper crabs but this is the best I've eaten.. I think the black pepper sauce has bean mixture that makes the taste unforgettable.. One Sri Lankan crab with noodles for $114 cheaper than many other places

This place has a private room for table of 12 and a smaller longish room. We have our "makan kaki" lunch here every month for years. The seafood is pretty good and prices reasonable...I would recommend this place... You can see the live fish sometime the giant "loong ton" or garoupa swimming around the fish tank outside the restaurant.

Besides the normal seafood dishes, there are some really outstandingly delicious picks here. I highly recommend the Geoduck Sashimi~Clear Soup Hotpot and the Gold & Silver Hor Fun. The soup which comes with the Geoduck is a superb clear consumme, which is "naturally"sweet. Their horfun rendition is such an innovative dish - imagine deep fried horfun pieces topping gooey wok hei wok fried egg horfun. Carbs are sinful, but this dish makes it really worth while!

Chin Huat's well regarded for Singapore’s number one culinary export - chilli crab. Actor Li Nanxing was there and looked like a happy patron.

This restaurant under an HDB does not disappoint when it comes to seafood (crabs are a must!). This place is easily packed so reservations are essential

Most people rave about their seafood dishes. I like their beef kway teow the most. The dish has 'wok hei' and the beef is tender.

This is my regular Neighbourhood haunt. Good for everything from dinner after work to a birthday celebration. The menu is extensive and everything that I have tried has never disappointed. However there are 2 star dishes in my book - the lobster bee Hoon and the black pepper beef. First former is a perennial fave with guests, though it can be pricey. The latter is a regular feature on many a tze chat menu but it is executed perfectly with flavourful sauce and tender beef. They offer a free membership program that gives you 10% discount on normal days. My absolute favourite feature of the place - no corkage charge for your own booze!!!! Highly recommended.

Had a poor experience here.We were there on a Saturday evening and it seems like they had insufficient/untrained staff attending to the customers. The service was bad and the food was average. We ordered 2 crabs cooked 2 different styles. Not much meat on one of the crabs. Overhyped restaurant, if you ask me.

Excellent seafood! I would highly recommend the chili crab with their man tou to compliment it. Other seafood dishes like their bamboo clams with garlic are very delicious as well.
The restaurant is very popular, especially during the weekends so make sure you make a reservation beforehand! A little pricey but the food definitely justifies its price!
