Decent chicken rice, Lobster laksa and Fried bee Hoon although there are much cheaper options around Singapore.
There was lobster in the laksa and abalone in the prawn mee which justifies the price. Chicken rice had a generous prion of chicken

Lovely chicken It’s so nice I have eaten ever. it’s come up very fast. I’d just few min waited. also restaurant is very clean.

Long standing local family restaurant at the Mandarin Orchard. Their speciality has always been the old Hainanese chicken rice. Portion is very generous and comes with the basic three sauces, a bowl of rice and a nice warm cabbage soup on the side. You get to choose your cut as well - thigh or breast.
Price is pretty hefty though for this humble dish ($27) and there is no real atmosphere...

I had their famous chicken rice.
This is an Englishman's perspective, so perhaps your experience will vary, but I don't see what the hype is about. The food was fine but not worth the hefty price.

Great place, great service. As expected for the price you pay. Tried their lobster laksa and it’s excellent. Will definitely come back again.

Chatterbox is well known for their chicken rice. However their standard has gone down over the years and there are much better selection of chicken rice stores else where. On top of that, the price for a set (25+) is enough to suggest going somewhere else.

Their reputation for chicken rice has always been good. Well, u pay $26 and that's what you get. Awesome smooth chicken rice. It's the most expensive chicken rice but what the heck. Then again, it is expensive to be eating just chicken rice when u can get cheaper options outside. So, decide for yourself, indulge once in a blue moon. Their ginger and chili paste is really tasty too.

This place is on the pricey side as expected since it is located inside of the mandarin orchard hotel. Both the Haianese Chicken Rice and the Lobster Laksa are some of the food items you have to order since they are really good. No need for reservations since the place can accomodate a lot of people and it rarley gets full.

Five stars for the ambience of the restaurant and three stars for the food and price. My family ordered Hainan chicken rice, Indonesian fried rice, salad, and congee. The portions were big. However, I think we can get a similar taste elsewhere with much lower price.

Chatterbox has lost the lustre of the days it used to be at lvl 1. I was refused service because I was in a tanktop. Well, sure its your restaurant and its your right to discriminate your customers' attire. Similarly, its my right to discriminate against you and give you a well deserved 1-star. Great job guys!

Good food, but nothing mind-blowing. What was mind-blowing was the price tag attached to the food. It's a good place to bring foreign friends, but for locals, you can surely find better food at foodcourts nearby (think Wisma, ION)

I was told that the chicken rice here was out of this world... I beg to differ. It's good, but definitely not worth the price! Go to your local coffee shop for chicken rice and you probably won't taste much of a difference but you'll save yourself $20. Ambience here is nothing to rave about either. Feels like a cafeteria with cushiony chairs. Oh well, maybe check it out if you have a money spitting machine.

The famed Hainanese chicken rice that was once so scrumptious and acclaimed is now but a shade of its old ancestor. One is better off going to Tian Tian or Nam Kee. The lobster laksa at Chatterbox is more worth the labyrinthine walk from the lobby to the restaurant.

For a very fancy chicken-rice set meal, head over here. Can't say I was deeply impressed, I'd heard it was amazing in its day. Now somewhat over-priced for the quality you get. That said, not a bad experience.

I was told this is the best chicken rice in SG, kinda disappointed. The places is very crowded while staff are very busy busy with cold attitude, some are even rude ..... We ordered a Rojak as a starter and finally got it when we finished our meal :( the chicken rice is ok but not that flavorful or impressive, I really don't feel this place is worthy for the price or reputation, won't come back !

This place was built on a reputation going back 30+ years on the chicken rice. I remember back in the late 1970s and early 80s when the standard set cost $7.50 and the quality was outstanding. Today a set is $28.50 and taste does not bring back the memories anymore. The original Chef had since retired and setup his own outlet in Pasir Ris (Downtown East Shopping Mall)

2 days ago I invited a friend to eat at Chatterbox Chicken rice after telling her it has the best fragrant chicken rice. Was really disappointed!! The Chicken rice was NOT the usual Chatterbox standard. Was there a change of chef? Not worth $28.50 at all.

Good portion for the chicken Rice but the rice is a bit too dry and less fragrant that it looked. Busy at lunch so best get reservation if you are sitting a large party.

Chicken rice and hor fun are all very nice. Staffs are helpful however, please be noted that during pick hours, they might forget your requests ... but not always. You can customize your order - they sure will make it as you want. So enjoy your meals hear ok!

For the price you are paying, the chicken rice is sub par. Was kind of expecting more given the prestige. May be a convenient option for hotel guests, but would recommend venturing out to get the authentic taste.
