I started going to Central Pilates since they first opened years ago. After working overseas for four years, with long working hours, high stress, bad diet, and zero exercise, I again looked to the instructors at CP in June 2015 to help me build up my core, treat my neck, shoulder and back aches, and improve my posture. I also go to an osteopath, whose work on me is coordinated with and well complemented by instructors at CP. My practice at CP supports my gym and other sporting activities, by helping me strengthen my core, and teaching me the correct form to adopt in these other activities to avoid injury.
At CP, I am trained on reformer machines to correct my posture for daily activities - neck, knees, abs being the key focal points. We sabotage ourselves with incorrect postures in daily life and we wonder why we hurt all the time! My scoliosis adds complication to these daily challenges. What impresses me most about pilates instructors is that they understand very well the mechanics of the body and know which muscles to target to resolve my issues e.g. pain at the knees when climbing stairs. There are muscles that we strain through overuse and misuse, and others that we let weaken through a lack of use; CP instructors have helped me feel and activate muscles that I've "lost touch" with, and it's a strange and wonderful feeling to undergo this process. I always look forward to this opportunity to reacquaint myself with my body.
(A friend who suffered backaches during her first pregnancy is convinced that she was pain-free for her second pregnancy because of her practice at CP.) The support staff is lovely and responsive, the location is quiet and yet walkable from Newton MRT station and buses that ply the area.

I am 63 years of age and suffering from numerous back and neck problems for many years. In the past I have been referred to Physios and Chiropractors and have obtained some short term relief, but not lasting benefits that we hope for.
I have had injections in my neck to freeze the nerve ends which has had some positive results but rather extreme when a significant number of injections are required for pain relief, without the benefit of neck mobility which is paramount for daily activities of driving and general movement.
I attended Central Pilates on recommendation of my consulting Physio and was attended to by instructor Jun. After weekly visits for 3 months and instructions for daily home exercises of approx 30 minutes a day, I am astounded at MY results.
I still attend Central Pilates but fortnightly not weekly and my mobility for both back and neck have improved significantly, to the point where my Physio has recommended that I just need to keep doing what I am doing under the guidance of Instructor Jun.
A very big thank you to Central Pilates, especially Jun, and if you have suffered long enough and want long term results, GIVE CENTRAL PILATES A TRY.
Regards Geoff Farley

I have been doing Pilates for several years with Central Pilates. I tried several studios and found I didn't improve. I have severe back pain that left me unable to do basic activities. After a few sessions at Central I found that my pain levels had reduced significantly. The team are wonderful, friendly and understanding. They are well trained and have a sharp eye for detail and faulty movement patterns. Highly recommend this studio.

I've been learning mat work Pilates with Kellie for at least 2 years. Before taking up the class, I experienced backache and heel pains constantly due to my job that requires long hours of standing. As I practiced the exercise with clear and patient directions given by the instructor to correct my posture and to emphasize the use of the core muscles, my backache disappeared. I bid farewell to my heel pain too. I have since shared this with many and they too have all benefited from the classes they take with Kellie, as well as her husband Jung.
