Terrible place to learn pottery. We went for a trial class ($90) with intention of doing a course. The instructors are condescending and rude. Boon and the other instructor gave no instruction and insisted on doing everything for us - when asked if they could teach us instead we were met with more condescending remarks on how it takes 5 years to learn the most basic techniques and that we were here just "play around" with ckay. Would not recommend. There are plenty of pottery options in singapore.

I was pretty disappointed in my experience taking classes here, primarily because I learned very little. For people who want to play around with clay and maybe have a few bowls after 4 lessons, this place is fine. For people who are experienced and just want to use a wheel for a little while, it's also fine.
But I took "classes" because I wanted to learn, and there was very little instruction. This may have been because I don't speak Mandarin and the instructor spoke very little English, but it was also because they didn't put much time into explaining things. If something threatened to go wrong, they just fixed it for me. That's cool and all, but it doesn't help you learn.
Secondarily, I was pretty annoyed that they just glazed my bowls for me -- I made clear that I wanted to do this, but they just chose the glaze and did it anyway. They happened to choose colors I don't like at all, but that's not really the point -- it's that I had no choice. That, and the lack of instruction, were kind of frustrating.
All of that said, they seemed like nice people and the location was very convenient.

Varieties of pottery talents! Singapore Malaysia Japan Korea to name a few. Love the gallery and studio.

Had a terrible experience back in 2016 where one of the teachers (i think his name is Andrew) verbally abused and threatened us - we had been students of the pottery studio for a year and the man who verbally abused us wasn't even our teacher - or someone we had even interacted with before. We were minding our own business doing glazing as per usual and all of the sudden this teacher starts shouting at us for absolutely no real reason and accusing us of really absurd things. We assume he might have been mentally ill or emotionally disturbed. However what was even more shocking was the studio owner Mr Boon was present and pretended not to notice. Even when that man stood up and started threatening us (we are two small females), hurling abuse and screaming "get out of here" and "I don't want to see you here anymore" he did not step in to intervene or to calm him down. We ended up leaving the room in fear of our safety and when we called Mr Boon out of the class to confront him, his response was "he's always like that!" and he didn't want to address the fact that one of his staff members just abused his students unnecessarily. We ended up not returning to the studio again despite having been students there for a year. Very terrifying experience.
