My favourite chicken rice place and their other stuff is good too. The fish slice hor fun is fantastic, very nicely done, thick slices, kwey teow fried properly and real nice pickled crunchy green chilli slices, primo stuff and worth the primo price, try if you doubt, I usually go BTK Whampoa West.

I have had chicken and rice in Thailand, it's quite good, but the chicken and rice at Boon Yong Kee is a different level of good. BTK's chicken is very tender and the steaming process is unique from what I've seen. Every bite is a flavorful treat and when dipped with their minced ginger sauce, oh my! If you're in Singapore and are going to take the MRT pass the Boon Keang, stop and grab a bite. They have many other selections, but their original, signature dish is the steamed chicken. Do it!

My sister recommended this restaurant to us and planned a little reunion to meet up with high school buddies. The food came out pretty quickly but was a tad disappointed with the famous chicken, thought it was just ok. The coffee ribs were amazing and so was their fried tofu. Everything came up to around sgd205, which average to about sgd30 per dish, too expensive for me.

My 2nd visit there. Chicken was nice. And crispy tofu didn’t disappoint me too.

One of the nice chicken rice store in Singapore. Ala carte dishes are nice too. Recommended.

Best chicken rice, very tasty and high standard which is consistent. Love it

The foods is good, as what you would expect. Variety has improved tremendously, although it is on a pricier side. The chicken while superb, wasn't something that stayed on after leaving the place. What really blew it away was the noodle options, they are fantastic.
There isn't a shred of doubt that it is one of the better noodle dishes (read: Ee Mee) that I've had, and this is coming from a person who isn't a fan of that dish in particular.
Crowd will always be an issue as tourists flock this place. It still is a pretty good place to go to though.

Have been my family favourite for over 10 years. The standard chicken rice is fantastic, but the main attraction is the other dishes that are equally as good. The prawns for cereal prawns are always huge and juicy. Do come early especially for dinner. It is common to wait up to an hour for big groups.

Highly recommended if you want a taste of authentic chicken rice at a reasonable price. It has and always will be my family's favourite. However, make sure to visit earlier or expect to wait more than 30min in the long dinner queues.

For me without question this is the best Hainanese chicken rice in Singapore. It beats top notch hawkers in Maxwell it beats its sister establishments on the island and it is completely consistent. It simply has the best chicken and by far, by far the best rice. The rest of the extensive menu is good too but the chicken rice is so far above anything else I have ever tasted it is truly outstanding. The road front takeaway stall does a good trade but the restaurant itself is a slick operation with good efficient service that copes well with constant excess demand.
Must Tries: Chicken Rice, Spinach with 3 kind of eggs, kampong chicken, Braised Peanuts, Half White Boiled Chicken, Imperial Pork Rib

Pricy & always want to rush your meal due to small space. Chicken rice was rather ordinary vs the premiums price. perhaps a matter of taste

Great classic chicken rice but dishes are pricey.

Personally, I've never tried the chicken rice here but it seems like a really popular spot for chicken rice. Most of the people around me seem to enjoy the chicken rice here too so I would definitely recommend it to my friends who come from abroad to try the chicken rice here.

Good chicken rice but for 2, it's just nice to have the small plate of chicken. The $14 plate is simply too much if you order other dishes as well.
Monica Tan (03/10/2017 15:07)
Food is great for the price paid. Each dish was well balanced and not overly flavourful. Felt that despite the lack of staff, service standards were still acceptable.
Must try: The crispy tofu, chicken (of course)
Skip the steamed mince meat, the taste of unfresh pork was a tad too strong for our liking.

Chicken rice. Good for takeaway if you live around the area. Portions a tad small.
The cashier is also ridiculously unproductive. Why is there a need for three people?

Good place to have a family meal. Tasty food and decent service.
James Poon (23/08/2017 03:27)
Great food, fast service and well priced.
Madison Mackenzie (12/07/2017 16:08)
Great food, fast service, decently priced. Three dishes below came to $37.00 warm water was 50 cents each!

Great chicken rice. Excellent ginger sauce. A few other great dishes too. May need to wait a while for a table.
Michael Ng (29/05/2017 08:58)
Excellent chicken rice. Other items in the menu is also quite good.
Paul Wei Quan Loh (25/05/2017 15:30)
Best chicken rice in my opinion. May be crowded during peak. Best is to go early to queue.
Anja Do (28/03/2017 18:22)
Good tender chicken rice & very tasty vegetables. Quick service & easy location next to MRT.
Jonavan Teng (23/03/2017 01:46)
Good food, good service (they are very busy but will do their best for the customers)
Avoid peak hours after 8pm or do booking.
Simon Phun (20/03/2017 16:19)
Just average. Chicken is a tad bit overcooked for my liking resulting in some portions being chewy and dry. Soy sauce used has no flavour and is just plain salty. Rice is good, and the chilli could have done better with more garlic in it.
Sheila Eng (05/03/2017 23:41)
Good food. Recommended to come early as the queues get pretty long around dinner time. Recommended to have all guests to arrive on time together. MUST order the sambal kangkong, white steamed chicken and of course the delicious savoury rice.
SH Fong Mike (11/01/2017 12:48)
Tender living steam chicken, good rice texture, authentic chicken rice garlic chilli.
Worth spent on a meal. Thumbs up.....

Started as a shop serving Chicken Rice, Boon Tong Kee has evolved to almost a restaurant with full menu. Chicken rice remains delicious and unique. Good value for money.
G Lee (04/12/2016 16:57)
Nice chicken rice! Choose chicken breast meat without skin. This is SGD4.80. Very affordable if you choose not to dine in.
Panin S. (10/10/2016 21:43)
The food here is inexpensive relatively. The taste is nice especially the chicken menu. It's very famous among the tourists and always crowded. Recommend to go before or after the general dining time.
Gian Pi (23/08/2016 09:43)
Place for Chicken rice, very famous. Good also other food, at good price.
Sometime to crowded need to wait.
Eddie K (13/08/2016 06:15)
I flew from Shanghai for this....its just simply delicious, speaking from a Malaysian perspective as a hawker food lover. Amazing chicken rice , What Than Ho noodles and the lime juice. Friendly staff and clean environment. Highly recommendable.
Pett Jin (17/07/2016 04:31)
Very good chicken, ruined by staffs. They try to cheat us everytime we eat here.
First time, they serve us a peanut which we didn't order. We thought it was like a welcome snack for free but they charge for $2
Second time after we finish our meal and give them for $26 but on the bill said we give only $24. They try to cheat us for $2 again!!?
And we know those were not mistakes.
Shame on you.

Awesome chicken rice at this restaurant - reasonably priced

Good tests. Easy to get there. Close to MRT
Christopher Sim (14/05/2016 17:27)
Nice chicken rice and side dishes. Long waiting time during peak hours so be prepared. Takeaway is a good option as they are nicely packed.
Samuel Ng (04/05/2016 11:48)
The chicken rice I had today was overcooked. The rice doesn't have the chicken broth flavour . I eat regularly at Cheong Chin Nam road opposite Beauty World. The chicken rice there was so smooth and cooked just nice. The rice there was so much better. Eat Cheong Chin Nam outlet and you won't want to eat at this outlet at Whampoa.
Chris Davis (22/04/2016 06:21)
Best chicken rice! Busy, so be prepared to wait.
