awesome place to live. Was awesome experience staying here must be on your list if you have tight budget. Neighborhood is awesome filled with k pop pub and other good restaurants

Very friendly staff and close to the airport if you have a short layover. otherwise a bit out of the way. Still worth exploring the area.

Take bus 24 from any terminal (basement)
- Ask driver for Joo Chiat Complex, corner of Joo Chiat Road and Changi Road
- Walk from bus stop in the same direction as the flow of traffic and turn left into Joo Chiat Road
- Walk down Joo Chiat Road for 7 minutes and you will see Betel Box Hostel on the right-hand side of the road

Friendly staff and nice place. The bedroom was a little hot at night and the bathroom a little uncomfortable though.

Staff and the place was great. One of the few real backpacking places to enjoy and relax at the same time.

Stayed on the first floor with 19 other people, things were fine but there were LOCALS with a bunch of stuff you should not expect from travelers, there is a permanent cat in my room walking around freely and nobody told me anything, some people may have issues with it and it not featured the cat in any website, no airflow so you can smell others people feet and no mirror in the toilet (too expensive I guess) but the owner is a nice person, the whole place is a "milestone" amongst all the hostels I've been so far.

Average location. Not far from busses that take you into town. The beds and dorms are fairly basic, but the mattresses are extra hard. + the breakfast is nothing special especially compared to local food. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed the second time at betel box and it was great.
Free coffee and tea. The only problem for me was to find the entrance door. Staff is rly friendly and the beatiful girl from india at the reception was amazing, she helped me a lot.

Excellent service, and at such a great price! For the rooms, you get what you pay for, but Teeny was incredibly helpful, well beyond anything I expected

Amenities were great! But the bathrooms and showers were subpar. Beds are bunks as expected, but the mattresses are really dirty. Free breakfast is definitely a plus and for the price (cheapest hostel in Singapore), I definitely feel like it was worth it.

Really nice hostel with helpful staff and very tasty breakfast. Rooms are nice with a window and comfortable beds with air con. Highly recommended

The staff were friendly and the reception girl was cute. They gave me a dorm room locker towel etc for about 20 Singapore dollars. Free wifi. Good location if you want to visit markets etc, a lot of backpackers stay here. These are dorm rooms which would be the only downside.

Really nice hostel. I had to take off 2 stars, though, because 1) the bathrooms were always wet and water was all over the toilets 2) the hostel is seriously far from an ATM or MRT station. Besides those 2 gripes, I had a pretty good stay.

If you are in Singapore you have to check out this hostel. Free Wi-Fi and Breakfast. Super fun decorations and meme. Great vibe and you meet fun new people. And awesome staff who tell you everything that you need to checkout in Singapore and how. I mean they chalked out the maps for me! 😍 Best.Staff.Recomendations.EVER!

Nice place with helpful staff. Facilities are lacking a bit and the location is about 30 mins to the Bay but it's cheap and has decent wifi

It was very much relaxed,cozy and priced reasonably.
Friendly staff,healthy breakfast,nice common room...
I would love to stay there again..

Great hostel that is surprisingly affordable for Singapore. We've stayed here both times we stopped through because of their friendly staff, funny wall signs, and comfortable clean beds.

Cheap. Really helpful staff, recommended the best brunch at Chin Mee. Got a good night's sleep even in a 20 person dorm. Highly recommended.
