Duty free for Cigarette, beers and wines.
Drink in the area is duty free, One Carlsberg 320ml is RM3.90! The cheapest beers you could find in Johor, or probably Malaysia!

But if you bought a lot and bring outside from the complex, you may get taxed at the custom nearby.

Vincent Tan bought the it and changed the name to Berjaya WaterFront. There are several new restaurants and shops, the whole level 2 is for IT, lots computers and handphone shops moved to here. It will be great new look!

The building with newly painted, and look absolutely awesome! Starbucks, Kenny Rogers, 7-Eleven, … a lot more new shops you can find here! Jom, let's go!

Parking very far from the lift to hotel room. Feeling insecure when have to walk from lift to room late at night. TV channel not clear but good part is every room has handy phone for customers to use. Anyhow, breakfast and room is good

The Berjaya Waterfront is pretty big hotel. But the room are not maintained. You might see bed bugs and hotel reception will not provide you alternate room. Even if the hotel has many rooms they might not entertain you. I didn’t had major problems but my Friend and family had to face the problem. Probably it might be due to Long weekend.
Breakfast 🍳 was good with lots of variety. There is duty free shopping below the hotel. Outside you can visit 4 bars / Pubs and local food option as well. JB City Square Mall is 15 mins by taxi 🚕

2 lady singer are very bad. They were shouting the whole night. Really suffering ...But those waiters are fantastic!!! Loves their good service.

Satisfactory stay for 2 nights.. the room was pleasant even though the toilet looked a little rundown.. Breakfast was great with a lot to choose from.. overall a good stay in Berjaya

It was a terrible experience staying in this hotel.

The room:
1. It generally gave a very haunted aura. The bathtub has blood stains on it. We called for room service but no one came to clean.

2. The lights are very dim; bedsheets are not clean; windows are dirty with carved name on it. It gives a very odd and creepy feel.

3. When we entered the room, there's a very strong cigarette smell although we asked for a non-smoking room.

The parking:
1. When we reached the hotel from the parking lot, there is an extremely long walk with no one taking our laugage nor directing us to the hotel lobby.

2. Also, not recommended for people with laugage, as there are stairs on the way to the hotel.

The hotel:
1. There are many gangster-looking people and prostitute in the lobby as well as the hotel.

Overall experience for the stay is really terrible and suspicious. Highly NOT recommended!

Best hotel around JB, as I will come back to stay even more. As the service is quite good but not up to my expectation. But can be improve.

Definitely not for family with young kids. I was really terrified of the aisle outside each room that surround the middle concourse, with open balcony that's just waist-high. It's a long way down. Latch on to your kids and never let them out of the room alone.

I was quite disappointed with this place to be honest. When we first got there it was the biggest building in the whole area, it looked like a palace compared to the rest of the buildings around it. It was a massive Hotel and we had a wedding event going on there which was nice as in the food and the hall itself. However, the hotel is really outdated it needs a MAJOR revamp. Our room looked like an old folks home, both the rooms looked like it was calling out for help ha. For how they make the hotel sound like it's the best hotel going it really was far from it.

Sorry but I think the hotel is not good as its name. All the facilities is very old and not well maintained, lot of shop outlet (inside free trade zone) is either closed or no longer operated, including their big hypermarket.

There are lot of parking available though (hotel parking at level 6) but you need to walk very far to the elevator located at the other end of building. When we enter our room, the room smell very bad. Yes I understand the hotel is old (and everything is dusty), but please at least put some fragrance.

The only good thing is the breakfast, lot of choice and they serve the food very well. I like it.

Awesome place. Have lots of foods at the roadside, The hotel viewing facing the beach is so beautiful. Duty free shops. Staff are very friendly and informative. There are few pub and clubs downstairs to chill out. Indoor Activities for family and children.I simply love the place.

Generally the stay at the hotel is comfortable n safe. TV program needs to upgrade. The staff are friendly n helpful at the counter during check in. Sittings n resting tools at the swimming pool not enough. Overall of the hotel are good n clean.

When we arrived they did not have a room available for us as there were a few functions on. Nevertheless, we took the available room. When we checked in the room was not as how it appeared on the web page. There was no sofa. It took them a long while to bring in the extra bed we wanted. We had to call the reception several times. Towels were also not sufficient. We had gone out the next morning only to return to a room that was not cleaned or bed made. They said there were too many rooms to attend to so did not do ours. They came in very late to clean up and did not have the towels to replace and were not willing to give the three bottles of mineral water for the day. They said you have two guests and we told them to check with the reception that there were three of us and we had an extra bed. The towel finally arrived at 11 pm! How is that for service. I came to this place recommended by my brother and I was very surprised by the efficiency of the housekeeping department. This hotel has a lot of potentials but if the service continues this way it may result in disappointment. The toilets were clean and the room was also clean. So why not take advantage of this by providing excellent service and to be world class. The person making the eggs that day was upset with my sister when the wrong order was taken. That person showed an irritated face! Sigh!

Used to be a cozy place for eat n dine. The only duty free zone in JB town. However it had past its prime time. Lack of shopping mall and other shops make it become another empty mall. Hope the new management do something about it. People just came for the night life now.. Not so a family place.

Overall Experience is good. But the small suggestion is, during check-in receptionist requesting the guest credit card saying for just verification purpose. In fact, they are blocking 600 RM from the credit card which guest was not aware of it. In my case after 3 days of my checkout when I log in to my online account a transaction of 600 RM appeared with the date of my check-in. Then I called to Hotel staff they kindly explained me the process about refund which ay take 7 working days. I agree and I have no complaints about blocking limit on my card but if the same process would have been communicated earlier during my check-in or checkout time. it would be more perfect for me. Apart from this. Overall my stay was Excellent. The staff is polite and they have taken care guest well.

i request for non smoking floor but was given a smoking floor. the room is very smelly. check in/out process took too long. the room is not sound proof. at night, can hear the live performance from nearby pubs. parking lot too far not convenient for family with kids and senior citizen. breakfast spread got a lot to improve.

This hotel is quite nice, except for the noises at nights, especially during weekends. Facilities and food are nice, but unfortunately the room service is very slow. Not to blame the worker, i believe. Workers need to be trained better. I was waiting for the cleaning service to clean my room, but i can't get it untill 10 pm at night, that also after a phone call to the operator, who answered me, saying, "It's okay sir, we will do it!".

Overall, everything is nice.

The hotel is old and run down. The carpets smell and parking is inconvenient. The entrance to parking is dodgy. The room is no better with the bathroom doors rotting away. 5he entire place looks very tired inside.

THE UPKEEP OF THE HOTEL HAVE TO BE DONE REGURALY. THE STAFFS HAD TO BE WELL TRAINED BEFORE GOING TO SERVE US. THE ROOMS SHOULD BE SOUND -PROOF SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT INTERRUPT OUR STAYS IN THE HOTEL.. THE FOOD THAT I ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS AND HOT. BUT THE BILL HAD TO BE SETTLED WITH THE ROOM BILL INSTANTLY. THIS WILL SAVE OUR TIME FROM WAITING.

Had arrived from Phuket and this hotel was much better, cleaner, attractive and everything worked. The AC, TV, etc.
Room service was polite, fast and efficient. The front desk staff were very helpful and allowed me to use their mobile phones and the Internet. Apologies as I cannot remember individual names, but the small Chinese lady and the lady from India in particular as they were both so polite and helpful. Even when I insisted on being called Matt; they called me Mr Matt.

I have been in a few hotels and believe me good service is neither mandatory or apparent.

I have stay there several time but regret service is not up to standard for reason my request never been fulfill and no follow up. Issue like request for room near lift, facing sea view , smoking room..etc...suggest to notify customer before check in if request not available as to avoid disappointment. At least, it show some good service from the hotel even request not meet. Please improve this thanks

Hotel rate is overpriced. Bath tab pipe broken, parking lot lift floor not well maintaned. Need more improvement with the overprice rate.

It is very inconvenient for guest to come down to the reception to validate the parking coupon. As such, is it possible to validate the said ticket at level 6 leading to car park entrance... :-(

I had ordered mama mee goreng...it was nothing like mama mee goreng... :-(

Your staff at the reception have always been charming and speedy in check-in and check-out... :-)

Duty Free Emporium staff are friendly and helpful... :-)

Being the hotel club guest, we were told we may use the lounge and cocktails / snacks will be serve from 5pm to 8pm but for the two nights we were there, there were nothing in the lounge and I have to request to the waitress to informed the manager to get something done. Even though we do get the snacks, but it is pathetically little, one of the worst ever club lounge happy hours, got worsten on the second day whereby I was told the red wine had been finished which is unacceptable. Don't understand how this club lounge is being managed. Wouldn't consider having a club room the next visit.

1. Aircond maintenance must be checked and maintained frequently especially during hot weather outside.
2. Lightings are inadequate - especially for children whom needs to study or doing homework although staying in hotel for holidays.

Formerly known as Zon, the hotel is located within one of few duty free zones in Malaysia. The hotel is old, room quality is average and is in need of a renovation. The atrium is dark, and the air isn't good. The atrium has a cocktail bar and lounge. Live music is available in the evening.
