Went for my Japanese Spitz second opinion about skin issue last week. Starting from the front desk staffs, nurses and doctors, all are excellent in their services. They shows great compassion and loves. All calls and questions were answered with patience and in great details.

The whole team is professional and truly cares for animals. The vet/nurse on duty updates every morning and evening on the status when my dog was admitted for few days. Thoroughly explained the diagnosis and gave me different options for the treatment.

Brought my little baby chihuahua for 2nd opinion here. The vet will do the necessary tests to rule out the issue that my baby might have which helped a lot. To see the results of the tests and go according to the treatment plan. My baby got better after a few treatment. Their charges are reasonable.Thumbs up for this clinic. Great team they have.

Great service i had with this clinic. They have helpful receptionists, caring nurses, patient vets. Sure come back to them for further treatment for my dog. I'm happy that my dog is in good hands now.

Although waiting time is a bit longer but staffs are nice by offering drinks to me and told me there's parking available for me at behind the clinic. Vet is very thorough with the health check. Very good service i got from this clinic. Will definitely introduce to my friends and relatives.

My parents have been sending my 14-yr old golden retriever there for a few years. Last year or so, he peed blood and was suspected of having liver problems. The tests (x-rays, blood tests), medicine and health supplements cost thousands of dollars to date. The bleeding had stopped for a while now but vets suspected its liver was still weak. Did numerous X-rays and blood tests, last blood test was 6 weeks ago. Today had to do blood test ($190+) again. Apparently the few vets we had previously seen were no longer working there. I wondered why humans do not have to go for such regular tests, so I went down with my mother today. Vet told me an old dog's age ratio is 1 to 4, so 6 weeks is about 24 weeks. I told the vet ok this time but probably it would be the last time. Vet told me the clinic registration was under my dad's name and I do not have a say in how my dog is to be treated. Said it is standard practice or regulation. I took my dog and left immediately.

[16 Jan 2018: My response to the clinic’s reply below, as Google Map doesn’t seem to allow users to reply to the business’ response:

If you truly believe that ONLY the owner named in your records can have a say in the continuing treatment and decision making, may I ask who had been bringing my dog to the clinic all the while? Definitely not my dad although his name was in your records. The visits are usually done by my mom or me.

Again everyone is entitled to a second opinion elsewhere, and I don’t think I’m “depriving” or “compromising” my dog’s health as stated in your reply. I’m happy I did and my dog is doing well with the treatment by the new clinic.

I leave it to readers to discern. I’ve only stated facts of my interactions and nothing more.

Senior vets who seems to know what they are doing very well. With appointment made, I waited 15mins. Vet apologises profusely for the wait as they had some emergency cases which had arrived all at the same time. Very patient, polite and professional while I was trying to make out what he was trying to explain with his foreign ascent. Makes an effort to check if I can understand him or if he sld slow down when he talks. Did a good check, gave injection and my dog is good to go.... for a senior vet consult, it is only $30. Total bill $55. Counter staff was very helpful and friendly... Even bother to ask if I understood the consult and he cld explain in Chinese to me. can see they were running around quite busy...must be quite some emergencies...looks like a busy start of an evening...hope my dog dun get to go into emergency one day. (Fingers crossed)

I brought my 13-year old lab to Animal Practice for a lumpon his shoulder. Vet insisted on operating on him. He is old and there is no guarantee the wound will heal properly.

I brought him to another vet for 2nd opinion. When the vet called Animal Practice for the reports, they told him they have thrown all the reports away. We are talking about 1 month and not 1 year between the 2 visits.

I will leave you to decide if this is a vet you want to entrust your baby with.

Not pleasant experience. My dog went for vaccination. But they charged additional consultation fee on top of vaccination fee. What consultation? Their explanation is that they needed to hold my dog tightly during injection.

Very pissed off experience!!! Got an appointment for cutting nails and dripping my dog's ears with the nurses.. told them a day before that i would come earlier than the appointed time as needed to rush to get PSLE result. They said its ok .. i can come earlier than the appointment time... But when i came in the next day they just let me waited for 10mins and had to remind the nurse agai .The nurse just told me we are shortage of nurses and called me to wait again.. 5 mins later another nurse came out and told me i still need to wait for a while as she's attending to other pet.. asked her how long i have to wait she said 20mins more and cutting of nails and ear dripping if ur dog is cooperative than another 15 mins will do if not 20mins. So that means i needed to wait for around an hour plus for a nurse to attend to my dog for only a cut of nail and drip of ear just because of you shortage of nurses when i saw there's around 5 nurses there?? Didnt i told you a day before that i'm coming in earlier but seems like u doesnt even care .... in the end i just left with my dog.. ANIMAL PRACTICE my dog with you all for 5years but this year service really dropped .. all those kind nurses and vets all gone.. told me shortage of vet now told me shortage of nurse.. This would be the last time i visited Animal Practice.. Your service sucks now...

Staffs were unprofessional and inattentive. We understand emergency cases but as a professional they should’ve informed us and perhaps suggested to reschedule. As a bonus, one of them tried to argue and blame us for this.

Vet was clearly trying to upsell services such as descaling (another review here mentioned they were charged unreasonable price) and other services/ medications to a healthy dog.

Avoid this place. I secretly wish there’s 0 star for this review.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. But they just aren't very good at treating animals which is a shame. Brought my cat in for 3 separate occasions, with 3 different vets. Her swollen eye just got worse and worse from their treatments. Finally brought her to Animal Clinic at Katong, and they had to remove a syringe full of pus from her eyelids. The doc there also a ascertain that the med dispense by animal practice are more for treating my cat's eye, rather than the tissues above the eye which is causing the issues. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Update: Dear Animal Practice, good for you that you can provides all kind of data. Your treatment was ineffective which is why I am disappointed. Would you go back to a Doc that gave you treatment and med, but not only did you not see any improvement, you got much worse? Ultimately, it's all about our furbuddies, any sign of improvement would have encourage me to go back to you guys. Fact of the matter is, the next clinic that treated my cat was able to show marked improvement for her infection within days. My only regret is not looking for another clinic sooner when it was clear that the med your doc dispensed was ineffective.

We have visited this clinic three times since we moved to Kovan. We found the doctors here to be very pushy and unprofessional. They will often try to talk you into doing some procedures we did not originally come for. Often, these procedures are overpriced and we feel pressured to do them. The young docs here don't look experienced and are just salesy and pushy. Avoid!!!

$700 for de-scaling? Try it at your own risk!

Berenice Choong (30/06/2017 02:16)
(To admins: sorry reviewed wrong clinic) Would recommend other clinics as their prices are on the high end, used to bring my dog here for his skin issues, but treatment was largely ineffective. I can't comment on their other services tho. I hope they have improved since then!

My friend brought her pet to the clinic, even i just the spectator, i can feel the attentiveness and caring from the vets and staff there towards the pet. So i do highly recommend to bring your pets here!

One and Only (29/08/2016 06:33)
Always not the same vet. No permanent vets for my dog with skin issues for more than 6 months. I change vet and he is so much better after 3 months.

L Ang (06/08/2016 03:55)
I would recommend Dr. Bahram & Dr. Kevin Friendly & pleasant staff. Highly recommended. My cat had skin problem & she recovered within a week. Thank you!

This is NOT a vet clinic with a heart.
This is a clinic with non-English speaking vet-techs that cannot even spell nor pronounce the word oxytocin. This is a clinic where their vets takes their own sweet time even when told it is of emergency, and there is NO other patients and an appointment is made. This is a clinic where the vet expects the client to SMILE at him even when he has take his own sweet time to probe and cannot deliver clear English explanation, cannot "read" their clients emotional concerns and overwhelms.
This is NOT a clinic that will listen to the owners "relationship" and knowledge of their dogs record - especially if you are a first timer there. This is a clinic that does NOT have presiding Veterinarian's name card.
This is a clinic that NO ONE should bring their pets to!!!

Kok Wei Hoo (26/06/2016 15:14)
After 2 visits with bills total up to $500, my dog's skin rashes did not recover at all. Recently visited another vet at Serangoon and the skin problem solved within a week - and the bill was only $75. I am so sorry for my dog had to go through this while the problem actually can be easily and quickly solved.

Christabel Lin (25/06/2016 12:12)
They are really very thorough with their checks and do a much better job then previous vets I had been to. They really know what they are doing. Friendly bunch of people. Not cheap thou-average price range, some things more ex$ and some things cheaper than other clinics. But the vet does discuss tests and plans...and provide me with accurate estimates. So no complaint. Will definitely come back here and recommend my friends this clinic. The 'No nonsense' type of professional care I am looking for.

Not sure if it is a coincident that our cat visited this clinic in the afternoon, and died in the night while on our way to see another pet clinic. She has deworming done and injected hydration in this clinic and given prescribed ear solution, vitamin and cat food at home. At night, she started to have stomach spasm/panting heavily. Maybe her underlying problem was the cause of death, but still we couldn't quite still accept it...

Have a really awesome experience at the clinic! The vets treat my Yuki very well and its get treat everynow and then ! The vets really tend to the problem and well advised me to help my Yuki. I do recommend this clinic ^^

Unfortunately I don't have a good impression of this Vet clinic. They are always selling me things that I don't need, and proposing many different tests for my dog. Last time my dog only had a minor problem with his ear. But the Caucasian vet requested for an unnecessary full body check up which was really costly and even said my dog might die. If I didn't do it immediately.

SIM A.C (05/09/2014 01:21)
irresponsible vet especially the ang mo lady, didn't care to explain about the risk.never go for blood test if your pet is sick Co's my pet result came out fine but went home dead.

I have been taking my cat here for over 1 year. I get different vets each time. All of them are very young and very green (inexperienced). I am still going through getting my cats hyperthyroid under control by medicine because the vets here are not sure what type of medicine (only a couple here in Singapore) or dosages to use. So 1 year later my cat is in the same condition as when I started. We are still doing trial and error. It is time to try something else. Because of this and the fact they charge additional fees to issue things like a prescription (which is necessary and not optional) I have decided to find a more experienced, professional and reputable vet practice to take my cat. I would not recommend you use this practice.
