OK food in a hipster lane kind of ambiance. Value for money

Nishant Nair (12/05/2018 08:26)
Great variety of food with Malay, Thai, Indian and Arabian options. Tried the Arabian lamb shank and the Indian butter chicken platter. Both the dishes were really good.

24hours halal eatery (open air and without Aircon). There is no official drive-thru ordering but people usually drive in, place their order and return to collect later.

It had been here since decades ago and the menu had evolved to include Western, Indian and Malay food now.

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is passing by beauty world area or for those going/gone for a hike nearby.

Great go-to Indian restaurant, affordable and huge variety. Although not everything is perfect, find what you like and is a good reliable place

Great ambience & great place for gatherings with friends. But advised tk reserve seating beforehand for large groups. Food is acceptable, but on the higher end in terms of pricing. & if possible avoid the fruit juices, mainly just water + sugar syrup with only a hint of the actual fruit's juice.

Apart from nostalgia of having supper after school at Al Azhar, the quality if food has dropped into the dumpster. Food takes long to deliver and is bad tasting. Too salty or too bland. Prata too rubbery. Sometimes when you finish your meal, the drinks hasn't even arrived. I do not recommend this place unless you are desperate for Indian Muslim food in the wee hours.

Mohd Husni (20/02/2018 03:58)
Slightly over-priced but well worth it. Generous portion, definitely not stingy with spices/ingredients if you know what I mean. And friendly staff with a sense of humour!

Dhruv M (16/02/2018 08:10)
Ridiculous variety, numerous shears and 24Hr timing. Food is good. Not exceptional, but good. Alot more quality in the restaurant than any general local diner. For the variety and flexibility of the place, it is worth going back to again and again. Great for groups and quick meals as well.

Mohamed Yousuf (14/12/2017 06:01)
The foods were awesome and delicious. Had great times there enjoying! Lot of space available inside and outside. Better for big family / friends group. 24 hours is the another advantage that takes this restaurant to one more level. Variety of dishes and drinks.

Very unhealthy food. The green spinach curry had green colour that coloured my fingers green!!
The red curry had lot of red colour.
Although edible these colours are basically chemicals and added to make up the real colour from ingredients.
Breads-tandoori prata was made of whole wheat and were very good.
Biryani did not have fresh meat

Average Indian Muslim food that is priced slightly above average. Food not incredibly nice and the drinks are just so-so. Nothing really impressive except the atmosphere.

Love their food and always having my dinner there. It is tough to find halal restaurants with so much food choices in one place

Simply love it and everyone should give it a try

Great food. Great service. Great price. Location is great. Overall everything you need in a quick munch place can be found at Al-Azhar!

Nicholas Lim (05/10/2017 16:25)
The food was great, but their staff needs to be careful handling the clearing of plates. I happened to be seated beside a tray return sort of thing, and the staff dropped a bowl of curry which somersaulted with its contents and sprayed all that yellow Dahl all around like a sprinkler. Several of us got hit.. I understood that it was a genuine mistake made in haste, but if it was me, I would be extra careful if I notice groups of customers seated around.

Kitchen can't manage massive orders during peak hour and poor quality also due to the same reason

A good Mediterranean restaurant at Cheong Chin Nam road - the new food & nightlife enclave just outside Beauty World MRT.

Truly enjoyed eating here, except that soon after our dinner, i was extremely thirsty & my wife felt the same . Was excessive MSG or other taste enhancers used ? Not sure, but I'll check it out and give an update again.

Good place to eat supper. Usually crowded. They serve Indian food and western cuisine. Their satay is really nice!

N.a.d S (05/09/2017 03:52)
Food was delicious. Fast service. Prices were reasonable. We ordered 1 Milo dinosaur, 1 warm water, 2 roti rumali, chicken curry, telur bungkus chicken and kampung fried rice, bill came up to $31. Not bad at all. Very satisfied.

Frank Lim (19/08/2017 09:15)
Good Muslim food, best is the price is reasonable. Quick service, clean and plenty of sitting place and table.

Kevin Lau (04/07/2017 17:33)
Food was kinda fast (usually slow thou ard 10-12 pm) area is warm with fans. The food is pretty standard for a big menu like that.

Jeffrey Tan (25/06/2017 10:29)
Good variety. One of the best prata in town. Service is tip top

Asuthosh Nair (05/06/2017 07:52)
Excellent quality middle eastern food at extremely reasonable prices and generous portions. Very interesting beverages on offer too. Limited options for vegetarians.

Daniel Wong (27/05/2017 15:00)
Great value Persian food. Nice decor and comfortable seats. Had lamb koubideh, it was not bad but had tasted better.

Timothy Lin (06/05/2017 05:57)
Busy place. Opens till late. Has an extensive list of Indian Muslim dishes available.

Little difficult to get the waiters attention. But table "bell" is useful.

Great place for late nice Prata Fix :)

Ernest Tan (01/05/2017 07:13)
I've been a long time fan of the food here. Never disappointed with the local cuisine from the Muslim community, who in my opinion have one of the best tasting food in this country.

Recommended food items:
Nasi goreng ayam sambal
Longtong
Mee siam
Naan (variety)
Butter chicken
Chicken tikka

Nora Mizeru (29/04/2017 13:34)
Food is marvellous. New environment. More food variety. New shops in...more dessert.. i just love it

Julian Futanto (07/04/2017 03:01)
Consistently crowded, quick service and great, great food though. Highly recommended for those late night munchies.

Angeline Yeo (10/03/2017 02:23)
Food is good but can't say the same for their service. Whether I went there alone or with a large group of friends, they are unfriendly. Went there with a group of 15 friends, they totally forgot to take our orders and had to be reminded several times. The same was for getting the bills. Not to mention, they forgot a few orders....and we were just sitting in front of the kitchen counter!!!

Andre So (23/02/2017 02:37)
great food at value prices. popular with tourists and the late night supper crowd

Joel Ong (22/02/2017 11:29)
Decent, but not mind blowing stuff. Basic pratas and the maggi gorengs are good, as are the meat and vegetable curries (eg. palak paneer). Was however disappointed at the "pizza murtabak" which used to be exploding with pasta sauce and cheese a decade ago, but is now a flat, sad, ketchuppy affair.

Jordan Poretti (08/02/2017 08:19)
Value for money and always open. Quality of food not as good as Al Ameen but is still good.

Linson Joseph (29/01/2017 03:28)
There's more than 200 items on offer. The food is good but you may not like the use of color in some.

Rahul Shaw (14/01/2017 05:08)
Great food. Inexpensive items. Quick service.

ant Xu (04/10/2016 16:58)
Prata was really good especially with fish curry . Oh my god! Unknowingly I had like 6 different pratas . However when it comes to kway tiao goreng it was really disappointing . BasicAlly it was spicy than normal , kway tiao was too dry , and it taste so weird (maybe it just me ) .

Dean Loh (04/09/2016 10:00)
One of our family's go-to mamak when the hungry pangs hit us especially during unusual hours. My favorite is the "Nasi Daging Merah" (fried-beef with rice). Their Teh Tarik (milk tea) never disappoints!

Mark Yeo (31/08/2016 13:57)
Handles our late night naan and keema cravings.
Everything you'd expect from a good mamak.

Bryan Yee (29/07/2016 17:47)
A good place for hanging out. Relatively cheap. Only thing is service is not really there. We can't 100% fault them since we don't pay for service charge, but oh well, at least a little better will be good.

Silver Koen (27/07/2016 12:41)
Food was nice but subpar service. 15 minutes after all the other dishes arrived, I asked whether a dish I ordered at the start was on the way. Was brushed off and didn't hear from them until the end of the meal, where they presented the receipt and I found that it wasn't even on the list. Quite pricey as well, imo. 7 dollars for a small serving of Butter Chicken? Just not my cup of tea, but maybe it's yours. Give it a try? Or nah.

Cheryl Lim (09/07/2016 06:41)
Choice location for late night Indian Muslim food. Nasi briyani and other curries are amazing.

Lim Yu Min (29/06/2016 15:55)
Services are prompt and friendly and smoke free zone. Even the stretch of shops are not selling cigarettes. Accept NETS & cash payment. If you are there try cheese Naan & butter chicken. Happy eating.

Ryan Choo (17/06/2016 05:55)
When you need to have one of the best Mee Soto and Dum Briyani in town, cone here and get it!

Vincent Tan (13/06/2016 14:24)
Great Indian cuisine. Wide variety of food such as prata, naan, briyani, tulang and tikka. When crowded, service can get slow at times and effort has to be made to call the waiters.

Nicholas Yeo (19/05/2016 01:12)
This place is thriving with customers throughout the day, and especially so at night.

It has a wide menu selection that ranges from Malay, Thai and even western food. All halal of course.

While popular, I honestly do not think the quality of food is tremendously good but good enough for a default selection when in doubt of what to eat.

Prices are reasonable. Just don't expect the service to be excellent as you might not be the only one raising your hand in the crowded space.
