It has minimal ingredients and the taste is not that great. I don't know why it's popular, I'm disappointed.

Terrible Experience. I frequent this outlet often, food was prepared by local staff. The food have good standards.
Today, the food was prepared by China staff. The laksa had so much coconut oil in it, it was nauseating, the spice level so hot that people eating it were coughing. And all the lady boss could do was to give a snide look at one of the young lady patrons and said, "You Singaporean? You Singaporean how come cannot eat chili?" So it seems to her that it's a pre-requisite, to be a Singaporean, you have to be able to eat chili. Diarrhea and coughing also mai bhen rai.
The nasi lemak was so salty, my colleague's stomach was churning. It was a pathetic serving - a few pieces of ikan bilis and over- powering smell of coconut milk in nasi.
The counter staff who took our order was also quite dumb.

Great taste of the laksa... Tried some other Chinese foods too... Got there by taxi... And walk around after eat, nice to see old houses around

Still love this place. Even though quality has dropped, laksa is still flavourful.

Had me crying and sweating even though it was raining. Coming in at $7 for a whole meal I'd say it has great value still.
Rizal Juremi (07/01/2018 05:13)
Dude.... This place got that Michelin Star! What more need I say?
The laksa is guuuud... You be lying if you say otherwise. Eat it with a spoon. Only a spoon. Errthang in your bowl have been chopped up so you use the spoon. Add a little bit of that sambal. Pow! Shiokness on the soul.
Aunty also a chio bu back in the days. Check it!

Quality has dropped. The soup is like just coconut milk... Lackluster and flavorless....

Lousy otak and laksa not as good aa 20 years ago
Dione Wee (02/09/2017 00:48)
One of the famous laksa places but taste is subjective
Siew Yee Bay (29/08/2017 03:59)
Disappointing laksa that had been highly raved. Expensive but small portion without much flavour. Personally prefer the $4.30 laksa at F&B chain EAT.

Wonderful laksa. Best in the world!

Go and try the Laksa that beat Gordon Ramsay! Tastes fantastic, brilliant value for money.

If you are a tourist, there are better laksa in singapore. It is way too expensive. however if you have limited time, then go for this.
Cooper Lee (31/03/2017 13:09)
It's the place for laksa n tourist to goto.
Joseph Tan (27/03/2017 19:16)

The original Katong Laksa still going strong. Great taste as ever but the place could do with a clean.
Nigel Lim (22/02/2017 07:37)
Laksa is above average. Otah is spicy and good. Everything is slightly overpriced.
kristine jarabelo (18/11/2016 12:01)
Me and my friend so loveee their laksa..this is the best laksa ever!!! Haha
Patrick Lamouline (17/11/2016 07:05)
I have been here many times since 12 years, always good, laksa and otha.
shirni ong (11/11/2016 17:30)
I am truly confused
Coz there is 2 shop with the same name 328 Katong Laksa on the same road, just opposite ends.
Which is better? You be the judge.

I'm no longer sure if this is THE ORIGINAL store as there are quite a few along this stretch but at $5.35 (where did the 35 cents came about?!) is expensive. the curry is thick and filing though. but the portion is small. nothing worth the hype (if there is any) 4 stars for the curry only. the noodles and ingredients are pathetically small portioned.
Yukino Angela (28/07/2016 13:58)
It's delicious like the ones I'd eaten in my childhood, but perhaps slightly over hyped. And also on the pricey side. Nevertheless, it's worth a try.
Loong Lee (28/06/2016 00:02)
This is the Katong Laksa where Gordon Ramsy learned how to cook Laksa.
At $5 a medium sized bowl it's nice but not very filling and slightly on the high side, considering you can get your fix on many cheaper Laksa stalls
WP Tan (20/05/2016 08:45)
gotta try it at least once. pricey for the small bowl. need more cockles in there!
Joel Cheong (13/01/2016 04:14)
Nice katong laksa but a little pricey at S$5 for a small bowl not including drinks. Still worth it if you like laksa.
