I liked the tasty beef rendang with a strong rempah flavor. As usual, Malay food is not that cheap compared to economy rice. That's expected. Kind of run down and far out but there is free parking.

The zhi char food standards dropped. Needs to improve given the strong competition.

Old local favourites found here. Prices may be a tad pricey, but then still affordable. A convenient pitstop for those heading to and fro Sembawang Park.

I liked the tasty beef rendang with a strong rempah flavor. I don't have much impression about the rest of the dishes. As usual, Malay food is not that cheap compared to economy rice. That's expected. Kind of run down but there is free parking. Rather out of the way.

One of the few coffeeshops in Singapore with lush greenery around it. The Nasi Padang stall here is not bad. Authentic Singapore Malay style cooking... ... their Nasi Lemak is as "lemak" as it can get.

Ample free parking just next to the shop. Zichar very popular here.

Worst eating place ever! I parked there and was scouting out what's available there, and the guy working for the eating house insisted that me and my friends eat there or we can't park there (in a very demeaning and sarcastic tone). Pissed but hungry, we decided to eat there. We are dressed very casually like normal working Singaporeans and the waiters treated us very badly and differently from the few rich looking families sitting around us. The waiter insisted that we paid for our food beforehand unlike another table left of us where they can pay after the meal. And he stared at us like some criminals until we paid. Even after the food came, the service sucked. I'd told a few friends about this place and they told me they had similar experiences there. Would give -5 stars if possible.

Expensive tasteless malay hawker.
I've never eaten such rubbery fried egg, tasteless chicken merah although its fiery red outside and overcooked sambal petai equally tasteless and it cost $7 in a rundown and dirty coffeeshop.
