First visit was great and the other terrible. Location is superb and one can walk 10 feet to the beach and snorkel directly to the Japanese shipwreck 200 metres away. Zero cellular signal but fabulous internet speeds (upwards of 50 mbps). Second visit was a disaster. Had to carry my own luggage to the room at checkin and back to the car on checkout. I'd avoided the free breakfast and requested a just a glass of milk which I did not get. Bizarre and hopefully unusual. Poor quality staff. The owner/manager seemed concerned about my complaint but I wasn't offered anything - not even an apology :-)

Nalini is well situated for snorkelers, right next to one of the best sites in Amed the Japanese wreck and the food was first class I must say, staff very friendly & helpful too. HOWEVER for the price I was expecting far far more. The rooms are clean etc, but NO TV & DVD as advertised, the bed was a cheap mattress (absolutely terrible), the temple next door had chants all day long & into the night, the entrance from the road is hectic lucky no one fell over and broke a foot. We left to stay elsewhere found a lovely place down the road at half the price and probably a little better too. Found Nalini price wise a rip off, so over all very disappointed after reading fantastic reviews before booking on the net. All I can say is the reviews are either fudged or written by first timers to Amed. This is our 3rd trip to Amed, I would say you should not pay more than $60 AUD for a room at Nalini when you compare it to elsewhere.

Beautiful. Great attention to detail and service.
This is a rocky and fishing beach. Clean calm water. Very different experience than Kuta!
You will need your own transportation.
Good for fresh seafood, arak (local rice alcohol), romantic... Not for surfing! The breaks are too far away.

We stayed in Nalini a week, we liked the beautiful views and unspoiled neighthood; it's peacful and no endless hawkers like we found else where.
The resort was clean, the breakfasts were well cooked, we had the best room with a view of sunrise and it has a compact swimming pool; very easy to walk around.
The onsite restaurant provided nice meals and the portions were good as we were on a diet.
Few downfalls; the location is a bit isolated, so there is no mobile reception. Limited sunbeds. There was no phone in the room, no tv channels and no hairdryer.
Although there was no phone in the room and no mobile phone reception, the couple was very helpful to organise a taxi for us when we needed, they even gave us a lift to a beach close by.
The staff was cheerful and attentive. The couple was friendly and helpful especially when my husband was sick for a few days. They were very kind and sympathetic.
Their hospitality was excellent; it was a great stay overall.

Don't pay more than $50 USD for this hotel and don't plan a long stay.
Pros: new construction, quality furniture, lovely attached open air bathroom, comfortable bed, ac & fan, great bay for snorkelers (Japanese shipwreck is just offshore and the waters have good clarity)
Cons: location is very isolated, it's a small property and garden bungalows don't offer much privacy, there is not enough outdoor common space to accommodate sunbathers, and the restaurant is overpriced, pool is small, not a walkable area
