We had a great dinner there. People are nice and the food is really good and cheap!! A very nice surprise in Amed. Just go there

Fantastic food. Nunka (Young Jackfruit) curry is the best. Oh so good.

Great healthy food & drink choices. Unique menu you won't find anywhere else in Amed. Home made ice creams. You are having lunch in a luxurious garden, it is relaxing and very nice.

If I could give this place 10/10 I would. I've eaten here numerous times and each time the food has been magnificent. You can sit outside in the garden in a little hut surrounded by beautiful plants, which is really something special. Everything on the menu is fantastic (although a small menu, it's all super tasty) and its all fresh and the vegies washed in bottled water - so being able to order a fresh salad with no fear of getting sick was really great. The cheese I think is imported because I've never had feta that tasty in Asia. Homemade icecreams are the best way to top it all off. Love this place.

Very nice place. The pasta was better than I've found in Indonesia. The ice cream was surprisingly good. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was pretty. Will go back again.

By far the best ice cream I have had in Asia, gorgeous atmosphere and lovely staff. I agree with another reviewer that ceiling fans would be good. I came back three times during my stay in Amed- and recommend it highly to ice cream lovers everywhere ( especially the salted butter caramel and the coconut)

small place, not too many dishes to choose from, so, very few veg options, but their veg pasta dishes (pesto or eggplant) are really really good, very tasty, they really surprised us. banoffee was ok but not great, best part of it is the spekulaas cookie base. we very much loved our dinner and the music they had playing. merci beaucoup, terima kasih banyak !

Ate lunch here as our hotel was nearby. Rather small menu but the dishes we had were very tasty. Does not serve soft drinks only fruit juices, smoothies and milkshakes etc The fish cakes main course was delightful. I had it with coconut rice and it came with a raw veg salad and small serving of intentionally cold pumpkin soup which was very tasty! The Indian dream fruit cocktail was lovely. It doesn't serve many "meaty" dishes but if heathy foods are your thing then it's definitely worth a try. We had a pleasant dining experience!

I just love the story behind this restaurant. A French chef named Laura came to Bali and met a local Amed fisherman, Jati. Together, they created this fusion restaurant using only naturally sourced ingredients. Their fresh vegetables are washed in mineral water. Ice cubes are made from mineral water, too. Local coconut oil is used to fry food. They serve freshly caught, local fish. And their straws are made from bamboo.

There are not too many restaurants around Amed. I was surprised to be asked if we had a reservation. We didn’t and it was not a problem. We were led to their bungalow seating which had a nice bottle of mosquito repellant waiting for us on the table. Along with a very, friendly cat. Clearly belongs to the owners because this cat had a collar, and was used to strangers invading her space.

As you are seated, welcome shots made with herbs such as ginger, are handed to you. These got our stomachs prepared for the delicious meal we devoured. They are not kidding when they mention ‘save room for dessert.’ I had no room for dessert and will have to come back to try out their homemade ice-cream.

For starters, the non-veggie platter was more than enough food. Fried corn meal, 2 veggie samosas, 2 chicken samosas and 2 chicken wings were served on banana leaves in a rattan bowl, accompanied by fresh tomato, cucumber and dipping sauces - A mustard mayo, dill mayo and balinese sambal. Nice and crispy, warm samosas. Matt ended up ordering more samosas because they were that good.

We tried a bottle of wine. Their Bali Pinot Noir was more like a port wine. 350ml for 250,000 rp. I drank a couple sips and we poured the rest back in the bottle to take home for later. It was way, too sweet.

For the fish of the day plate, I chose tuna and sweet potato fries. The fries were super thick cut and breaded. Matt thought it was the tuna at first! But the tuna was covered deep with a coconut curry sauce.

Their chicken plate came in a soup bowl, delicious in flavors. We chose the coconut rice to accompany.

At the end of the meal they ask you to fill out a survey about your experience.
Cash only.

Where to begin... Visited Galanga 4 times during our stay in Amed, each time was a real culinary treat.
Their Asian fusion menu is well designed, their products are fresh, the meals are tasty, the service is impeccable, the size of the plate is bigger than most places in Bali, the prices are competitive, and the place is really cosy.
Very easy to tell the food is made with love, and the staff are just the nicest.
They make the experience flawless and so simple when in reality it's hard to have this level of quality in Bali.
Galanga is definitely in my all time favourite restaurant list.

Best food we've had in years. If you don't stop by, you're missing out on one of the best restaurants Bali has to offer!

Dinner here was mind blowing. Breakfast was the worst. Don't go for breakfast, what a waste of 100k ( for eggs biscuit and a coffee!!). But do eat the amazing fish for dinner. Incredible. Also wins mega points for being sustainable and local and cooking in coconut oil.

Karolina Szumilas (24/06/2017 02:41)
Really tasty food. They welcome you with the welcome shot which is also nice :) servings are big. Staff is super nice and helpful. Not an expensive place. Recommend!

Great food, interesting menu. Lost a star for the lack of fans. It was hot there at night even in May and there were a lot of bees in the restaurant. Great for the environment and the garden. Not so good for people who anaphylaxis!!!

I went to this place religiously while visiting Amed. The food was incredible, juices, dinners, and deserts. If you are in Amed then visit here at least once and I guarantee you will be back

Really good atmosphere! Ate in a bamboo hut in a lush garden. They had bug spray on the table which was really nice. Prices wee good, food was varied and decent (albeit a bit dry). Good service too.

Sit in one the bamboo booths and enjoy a fantastic meal and great service. Fusion food, French-Indonesian. Have ice cream, it's so good!

Jono MacDougall (28/08/2016 11:11)
Really tasty and professional. The menu points out that everything is washed and prepared with mineral water, whether that is required or not it is a nice confidence to have after a bout of sickness on your travels.

Adrien Cordier (19/08/2016 12:38)
Amazing place, so good but book it if you need to go there for dinner. It's always packed. Fresh food for a very small price. Check out their Facebook page to see their menu.

Clearly catering to health conscious foreigners, Galanga has a wide assortment of dishes. The fish was skillfully cooked and each plate was full of variety. The kids loved the wraps and my boy repeatedly said that his was the best wrap he had ever eaten.

Our family of six paid 250,000 for six dishes and water.

Though we did not try them, the cafe also offers an assortment of desserts including homemade ice-cream.

We also learned a bit more about some of our favorite Indonesian fruits while reading the attractive and informative menu.

D Daz (12/04/2016 14:36)
Very good food, desserts are crazy and sorbet awsome. All is home made, fresh and super tasty.
Bravo chef !
