Good place to relax, beautiful view , but I think not allowed for fishing here, when Im with local traditional fisherman who was work for his family to catch some fish, the forest police with speed boat stop our activities, and I think we fishing with legal line ( just jigging and handline fishing), I don't know the law is, can anyone explain? I just respect the forest police, we go to another fishing spot.

Amazing place ... you can see deer, black monkey, the other brown monkey that is also all over bali, gecko and many other animal and bird.
You can dive/snorkel from any beach and see a lot of corail reef and kind of fish.
One of the best place and prettiest place i have been in my life for wild life.
Mr Kabs (30/03/2018 11:23)
the place for who want to snorkeling and see beautiful coral in Indonesia.

West Bali National Park is a conservationarea for the local jalak bali. You still could see some wild animals here, like macaca, lutung (idk the english name haha), and we even met some wild boar and that was soo scary.
there is also a small island on the area named Menjangan Island. This small offshore island has beautiful coral reef. You could go there with a boat.
If you go here, it would be good idea to bring a lot of water and some snacks, because the climate could get you dehydrated. Just remember to bring your own trash and keep the national park clean.

Very expensive entrance fee ticket Rp.200.000 per person on the weekdays and 300.000 for weekends! Crazy ripoff price for tourists!
If you stay in a Hotel in this area prepare to pay the park fee!

This was an amazing adventure. We were almost the only ones in the park for the day. Went in by motorcycle......not scooter.....touring bike. Since it was so quiet we saw so many animals, including wild pig, 2 types of deer, 2 species of Monkey, so many birds and even the Bali wild chicken. Road up to the big temple was fine but after that, it dwindled to a track......outstanding fun. Reminded me of home (south african safari)

Road is terrible! 10km/h maximum speed you can drive. Also there is a lot of trash on the beach. They just don't clean it :(
yayanm 1k (14/08/2017 22:30)
Clean & clear water on the beach with white sand. Some natural debris and plastic trash also available 😅.
There are Pura Agung Prapat (Hindu worship place) near The White Lighthouse, and also some roaming monkeys around.
You can access the white beach from Pantai Grand Watudodol using rental boat (drop & pick up service available) or Gilimanuk by car.

The question is .. what is the value of fooling tourist ... in the end they will simply talk and inform others and nobody will come there anymore.
The prices are Expensive and there is nothing to see few monkeys and that's it a road which is useless only useful to destroy the vehicle you are driving ...
They tell you to be quiet to see the animals and few seconds later fisherman fly by on motorbikes ... not mentioning g the local busses for he temple
Does Bali need money ?
Is this new way of fooling tourist around of value ?
Is it useful ?
Not mentioning that prices and price list are different from time to time ...

Of course it is terrific that the Indonesian government takes some interest in preservation of its natural treasure with the creation of this national park. From a hikers perspective however, of 'maintenance' there is none to see or speak of. Trash littered everywhere, we've literally seen ONE trash can and no information or education on effects of littering (for tourists nor locals).
The entrance fee of 200k is basically a rip off if you don't go diving or snorkeling at the island. Especially as there are no signed paths and a (paid) guide is needed even for a simple two hour hike.
If you're doubting to go here for a hike, instead drive your scooter (or car) into the Menjangan resort (it's signed "Gods secret courtyard"), drive past the security gate (say you'll have lunch at the Octagon) and walk around this litter-free (!) park for a while. We actually saw more monkeys and birds here than on the "official" hike, even spotted several deer.
Actually, doing this in stead of the national park would give you enough free cash to have an extensive lunch at Octagon, giving you access to the beautiful infinity pool.

This national park has some of the best spots in Indonesia for snorkeling (Menjangan & Tabuhan Island)

Shitiest road ever, indo guy selling an enter tickets for 200 000 thousand per person + you HAVE to take a guide - cheapest is 900 000 rupiah!! Are you kidding? Is it a big joke?? Biggest waste of time ever!! Don't go there!!!

Rise terrace so beautiful. Place for airing and photos of nature, temples and aboriginals. You will need more water for it and about 3-5 hours. Entrance fee 15000 rupiah, sarong free on the entry

Definitely worth a visit as the savanna like landscape is probably unique in Indonesia, certainly in Java. The road into the park is dreadful, it took us nearly 90 mins to cover the 8kms to the visitors centre and the same on the way out so factor this in to your timing. We visited at the end of the rainy season so the grasslands were still green and the animals dispersed but still saw pea fowl, jungle fowl, hornbills and wild cattle. The visitors centre has some very basic rooms (very poorly maintained) and a decent little warung (closes at 4pm). The staff are friendly and helpful but have very little English. The watchtower is worth climbing and the nearby beach is nice though not much good for snorkeling as it's very shallow and the seabed is sandy with sea grass beds. Beware of the monkeys on the Beach, they can be aggressive and will take anything left unattended!

For my experiences, this is the best tourist destination in Bali. This place offer wildlife on land and in the water. Both this combination created heaven in West part of this island. That's why government protected this area.
You can do trekking and birdwatching on the land. On the way you will meet black monkey, eagle, king Fisher, deer, and the almost extinct Bali Starling.
In the water you can see lot of fish and coral reef in shallow surface with very clear water.
If you want to come to this area you must hire officer from the national park as your guide. Hire boat is the best way to see more of the interesting spot. The officer will show you how and which boat you can rent, and also recommend you what to do here.
For those who complained about the tickets, please note this is NATIONAL PARK. The government protected this area by limited tourist facilities and increase the ticket price for 200k rupiah. The guiding fee around 2 million for a group of two people including boat. If you feel this is expensive, remember they are professional in wildlife activities.
If you feel to hard to meet animal, please note this is WILDLIFE. You need more effort and patience to meet them. But as soon as you meet them, the character of these animal much different as you see in the zoo. It's worth than all your money spend.
Tips to visit: ask the officer to bring you trekking to the top of the hill. There is georgeus view you can see here.

If you like adventure maybe is nice place to explore, it's very quiet place with deer, monkey and boar around you. It's quite expensive for foreigner (around 20 bucks) and the stone/ gravel road it's quite challenging. Actually the beaches along the national park are beautiful, but a lot of garbage spoiled them (brought by the flood). I hope the government find the way to deal with this.
Paul Chizhov (07/12/2016 07:23)
Don't go there by bike. The park staff(SCAMMERS) sold tickets although they knew we were going to use the bike(scooter). It turned out there was no proper road for a bike. The road was just big mess. The price is 200,000 for foreigners. No money back
WS P (03/12/2016 07:33)
Do not coming here cause I was there and I paid for 200.000 rupiahs or $20. Wr just want to sightseeing. Not really want to have some activities like trekking and snorkelling. Just seeing the beach to have some Rileks and see around the national park. The guy tell us. We can go for bike there and it's good road. But when we are get inside the park 50 meters from the gate it's totally messed up the road it's full of stones and broken. Absolutely bike not allowed to ride otherwise the wheels will be broken. And we turned around back cause it's impossible to go and with walk it's kinda far to reached the points. Then we asked for the money back cause we just got fooled by local guys. Even im Indonesian. They not give the money back. They just blame us and yelling to us. Also the road absolutely fucked up!!!! Charge peoples $20 but the road itself so bad. Don't go here !!

Excellent snorkeling, a bit pricey but reasonable considering I did it as a guided excursion from Lovina including van, equipment, boat, entrance fee and lunch. BTW, best to avoid the fried or the sandwich lunch choices. The reef is damaged in places, but you'll see some nice big and colorful fish. Tip: I brought a couple of cold beers with me and kept them frosty in the boat's ice chest; the beer tastes better when you don't overpay.
Mohammed Gaandhu (21/10/2015 23:50)
Touts mentality aiming only to rip off tourist. Forget about professionalism. Shame on west bali. IDR 200,000 entrance fee for that kind of quality park? Mandatory to hire guide who will make you disappointed because he is not certified guide as you can see he can't even speak english properly. No wonder only South Bali tourism is always flourishing and if it is not managed rightly South Bali will fall apart.
