I came into Sivana a broken man. I was beyond rock bottom and was desperate for a second chance at life. My life was full of chaos, I'd lost touch with reality and my alcohol dependence was simply out of control.
I entered Sivana after looking far and wide for a rehabilitation which wasn't just going to label you another number but with a solid grounding of addiction and counselling based therapy.
There are only a small amount of recovering addicts in the rehabilitation at any one time which provides each person with a guaranteed personalized opportunity to not only address their problems in a one on one manner with fantastic professionals but also in a supportive group environment as well.
The program is based around the 12 steps which has transformed my life. This along with consistent and very informative education sessions, on top of the one on one counselling was exactly what I needed to gain back control of my life. Make no mistake this is a fantastic program but you only get out of it what you put in. You have a perfect opportunity here to give yourself the best chance of recovery.
Nev, the Clinical Director and David, head Councilor, head up a great team which include a number of Recovery support staff. All have been through their own recovery journeys and have plenty of clean time up but can relate well to what I and others were going through. They're all very grounded people who were so easy to talk to and are dedicated to see us recovering addicts get the best possible starts to our own recovery that we can.
The days were scheduled out so that each individual could gain the most out of the program possible. On top of all this we got to have a balance of inspirational yoga or walks along the beach and visits to the gym. These were really important part of the daily schedule which were freely available to every recovering addict. On the weekends we had a choice of activities to choose from along with some really informative local cultural experiences to be enjoyed.
Another extremely important part of the rehabilitation was the nutritious three meals a day cooked by what I can only describe as an absolutely amazing local chef. This was really important to all of us as it was safe to say that we reached such a depth of despair that no one had been looking after themselves in this manner before entering rehabilitation. Nutrition plays such an important part of recovery and this was not lost in the transition within the program.
I left Sivana, a new person, a person who had the confidence which seemed unattainable in my addiction. A person who was unrecognizable to the one whom had entered only a couple of short months before. I had important tools which I gained out of a comprehensive program, I had a detailed aftercare program which I took with me and which I refer and use to this day. It is the cream on top. The detailed aftercare program which includes relapse prevention amongst many other things is just another part of this inclusive program which sets this place apart from the bigger rehabilitations. I've been to a bigger rehabilitation previously in Asia and your more like a number. You don't get the kind of support you do in this place. Believe me, give this place a chance and I'm sure that you will find you will find that person you wanted to be. The better you, the person you and your family will be proud of again.
