We went on a private tour of Bali's local cuisine with Mully, tour guide plus local food expert. He designed an itinerary that had us munching from morning till evening. As a foodie, he knew the popular dishes and the top stalls, eateries and markets around Bali that served them to crowds of locals. He ordered all the food along the way. All we needed to do and get in and out of our private car, and walk short distances to eat. There was also scheduled washroom stops and even freshly grounded coffee for the java addicts.
We had some much to try we'd lost count of the number of places we visited and food we sampled. There was satay, nasi campur, babi guling, fried fish, BBQ snails, grilled pork, fried wasps, durian and many more. We also made an extra stop to a local cooking school to learn more about Balinese ingredients and sample the dishes. Everything tasted interesting or delicious, and our palates had an enjoyable time with local flavors and spices.
