I really enjoyed walking along the beach around sun rise and sitting on the shore at sun sets. Great place for those who like to learn how to surf, plenty of paid instructors available here...

Nice beach. There are a lot of vendors selling drinks including beers at the beach. Nearby there are hotels including hard rock hotels and hard rock cafe. Good place to see sunset. You need to pay only IDR 2000 for motorcycle parking. You can swim or surfing there.

One of the most iconic beach in the island.
Very famous of its sunset view, and yes i have to agree with it.
A good place for chilling with family, friends, or lover.
Besides offering a beautiful sunset, most people are going for surf or to do some exercises.
Very easy to find this place, because its famous.
Tip:
Better go to this beach on low season.

I just accepted in a Bali based company and it's my first time visiting the island. The scenery is beautiful, wave is good (when the time right). But unfortunately there were plastic waste on beach. Let's keep our earth clean please.

Told you what, the Legendary Kuta which is globally famous now is in lower condition than decades ago. Overwhelming by tourists, this beach get dirty easily. It's unfortunate because the cleanliness of the beach is spoiled by the tourists themselves (not all, anyway), but if you want to visit better beaches with traditional Balinese local, I would recommend another side of the island. Less crowd, more tradition, more honesty and smile, and more local atmosphere you can feel!

We went to Kuta beach for a sea bath but ended up surfing. The back is good for beginners surfing. They give you a few lessons if it is your first time. A shopping mall and good food shops are just by the beach. Bargaining always comes in handy once you're in Bali. We paid 1500k for surfing.

Nurul Dela (07/03/2018 13:28)
The waves are soooo good. However, this beach is not so clean. Especially, when it is too crowded. So many locals selling things to you. You just gotta say no politely to them.

But if you visit this place not in the peak season, this beach seems nice. This is such a cool place to enjoy the sunset or just surf around, actually.

You'll love the wind, the sun, the waves, and the experience here when the timing is right. But to be honest, if you're looking for the best beach in Bali, this is not one of it.

tushar kharate (19/02/2018 01:33)
Very good place.. good sunset point.. Visit between 4-5pm and spend good 2 hours here so that you can enjoy the sunset. Hard rock cafe is just nearby the beach.

Putra A. Fairuz (05/11/2017 03:27)
Nice beach and good view.
You may get irritated by locals trying to sell you something.

The price (in IDR):
Shade seating : 20-50k (free everywhere else under the sun)
Surfing lesson : 300k (2 hours, all in)
Motorbike parking : 2k

Bali's favorite beach. good surf. beach chairs. umbrellas. drinks. surfboard rentals. food.

Evelyn Limanjaya (25/10/2017 05:18)
Nice looking beach. The only downside is you can't walk in peace because there are a lot of local people who try to offer something.

Ken Lim (11/10/2017 09:35)
Famous and very long beach in Bali, a must visit place to catch the sunset, or just to hang out and relax. Packed with locals and tourists any time of day. Surfing is a popular activity there. Recommended.

Mpho Marishane (03/10/2017 05:39)
I love it.
Too many hawkers, sometimes annoying but very friendly people. You must just communicate to them firmly if you dont want to use their services.
Neck, head, foot massages, manicures etc. Done right there while watching and listening to the ocean. Lots of bikini and shorts.

PHUONG LE (30/08/2017 09:18)
Kuta is fun to spend time with family trip or friends, a lot of bars and bbq restaurants, the beach is good for surfing, if you're active and outgoing person, who love all kind of fun activities must come to Bali and stay here.
Shopping center nearby, Waterbom is within walking distance, good foods and views, all-in-one.
But the traffic jam is really bad, especially weekend

Ayu Intan (29/08/2017 10:19)
Pantainya bersih.. Ada pelepasan penyu juga untik pelestarian..sunsetnya keren lah.. banyak tempat makan Dan hangout disekitar pantai.. nice place lah..buat ngelepas penat.

Ulfa Puspa (15/08/2017 02:10)
It's joyful spend time here, enjoy the sea wave running to your feet, many people come here to sun burn.. kuta beach near with restaurant, hotel, and mall.. an easy access to reach

ramachandra vaidya (01/08/2017 18:36)
Very good view. You ll see lot of surfing boards surfing over tides. Looks so beautiful. There will be traditional dance on nearby stages with beatiful music sometimes.

Admittedly, I was dreading going at first, but it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
You have to deal with the usual hassle of putting up with the high-pressure vendors you find in any popular tourist spot in Asia, but other than that, we had a great time.
My stepdaughter said it reminded her of Fairfield Beach in Connecticut.
What I liked best about it was that the only water sport that swimmers have to contend with is surfing (of which there is a lot), but it's a lot more interesting to watch than jet-skiers in Taiwan or oversized motorboats in Pattaya. The only downside to that, though, is that they don't really do anything to keep swimmers and surfers from encroaching into each others' areas.

Yayan Kuswara (19/06/2017 12:58)
Great beach with waves perfect to learn how to surf with. The major downside is that every 10 steps you have someone asking if you want to learn how to surf. Fortunately these surfing instructors aren't pushy.

Juliette Pers (30/05/2017 06:46)
very busy and touristic. If you're going to Bali for some relaxing peace and quiet, this is not the place to go. The boulevard is always congested and the beach is always busy. I did give it an extra star because on the upside, there's always something to do. If you don't mind straying off the main boulevard into some alleyways, you'll find some nice, cheap restaurants that serve delicious food.

Great beach with waves perfect to learn how to surf with. The major downside is that every 10 steps you have someone asking if you want to learn how to surf. Fortunately these surfing instructors aren't pushy.
The sand is soft and there are plenty of decently priced restaurants lining the beach.

The Hungry Fox (19/05/2017 13:35)
Clean and not so big waves for the amateur. Pay for a seat and 2 cokes about 5 dollars stay as long as you like.

Pay for foam surfboards to learn how to surf. Much easier than a surfboard or get a boogie board etc..

Gets very busy here and lots of markets available.

Fore i wouldn't stay here as its a younger crowd and a bit wild eg too drunk etc but nice to come to market and grab a bargain or relax on beach.

Lorena Pérez (01/05/2017 19:53)
Kuta beach is such a beautiful place. It's such a shame you can't just go for a walk without being stopped every 6 steps by all the surf teachers that wait for all the tourists. The beach is also quite dirty because people don't take the rubbish with them. On the plus side you will see here very beautiful sunsets and probably learn how to surf as the waves are said to be the best to do so.

Dario Bazzanella (12/04/2017 05:48)
As said in the title, the only good reason to be in Kuta Beach is to watch the sunset, since the place is extremely touristic. You will be assaulted by sellers of any kind, so don't think you'll be able to relax .The sand and the water are very very very dirty, so don't expect to enjoy a beach day in the traditional sense. Nice to go if you are in Kuta, not a place to head to if you are short of time. Nice for watching surfers.

Sid Kelly (03/04/2017 18:43)
Sad to say that it's very overrated. The view at sunset is pleasant enough, but be well prepared in advance to be pestered by withered old grannies offering 'massage' and food & beverage vendors. Both are equally upleasant upon replies of no . The amount of garbage - used cans and food containers marred an otherwise very average view. Worth seeing for a once off, just don't get your expectations up too high.

Don't be foolish enough to accept a massage , they aren't skilled or qualified. They'll smile at you pestering , but upon refusal that smile will vanish into a look of absolute contempt.

NITESH JADHAV (16/03/2017 09:55)
The beach is good with not much rough waters so easy to swim or surf. Waters are clear and seem less polluted. The road running parallel to the beach is full of restaurants and other shops. Only problem with tourists throwing plastic bottles, bags and diapers in the water getting washed down at the beach. Not good for such a pleasant beach.

louise winning (03/03/2017 06:53)
Relatively clean and a big beach. Good for surfer dudes or those looking to learn but there's no real resturants or bars on the beach. Just loads of people with drinks umbrellas and seats every 2 meters trying to sell you drinks out of a cool box. Great if you're thirsty which you probably will be but you can't go 2 steps without someone shouting at you trying to sell you something! I was even taking a dip and some guy was trying to sell me surf lessons!

Miha Pšenica (16/02/2017 06:17)
Long beach, but quite dirty. They try to clean it up, which means piles of trash on the beach. There are big waves and flags where its forbidden to swim because of strong currents. The sea is quite shallow, too shallow during swimming. And surfers everywhere. The sellers are quite annoying with rip off starting prices, so bargain if you're going to make business with them.

Piniel Hasibuan (13/02/2017 12:59)
The famous and must visit place if you come to Bali. Love this place since the first time I visited, and enjoy visiting this beach again and again. The downside is that the way to the beach is a bit narrow and the beach is dirty especially after rain shower. Do bargaining if you want to buy any local products on the souvenir shops because they set initial high price for most of the products.

Wayne Shaw (10/02/2017 12:48)
People who depend on one to give money to provide a lifestyle is a bit annoying. Wonder how it works? I buy a t-shirt from one in a thousand shops. I don't even want a t-shirt. I should buy another. What about the shop that has not sold anything It never ends. It's a mixture of so many ways to feel. Just giving money is not right. Haggling to the extreme is not good but.... I think I love Bali by just trying to figure this out. Blah blah.... I'm not the only one that has been to Bali.

Andrew Kalek (24/01/2017 23:10)
Lots of food options. Free to access beach. Easy to find garbage littered along the sand and doesn't entice you to swim. Ok place to hang out, find a massage or lady to braid your hair if you're looking for that.

Maria Bogensberger (06/01/2017 15:22)
Beautyfull beach without a lot of people. The water is clear. This is a great place for surfer's and you can buy drinks and snacks at the beach

Peter Dautzenberg (28/08/2016 02:27)
Crowded with a lot of vendors. We sat down by a very friendly lokal who was selling bintang on the beach. We had a nice chat.

Ahmad Anshori (19/08/2016 10:46)
It has nice wave for surfing, clean white sands (sometimes when the weather is not friendly, there will be rubbish everywhere coming from the river, but never worry, the beach sanitation team always there to clean the beach. You could also help them by collecting any trash you found on the beach!), and yeah, there are a lot of people try to sell you something, but you could always ignore them nicely.
Cheap tip: bring foods and beverages from home or buy them outside beach area because stuffs sold in the beach or near beach area are pricey.

Pros:
+ Cheap destination, free to enter, IDR 2000 for motorbike parking.
+ Great waves

Cons:
- Crowded, if you compare to other beach
- Traffic jam on the main road of the beach (Jl. Pantai Kuta)

Festiaji Irawanto (03/08/2016 22:54)
This is the famous beach in the world have a beautiful sunset in Kuta Beach, it's totally beautiful nature tourism destination, everything is beautiful natural scenery

Zilvinas Butauskas (08/05/2016 06:33)
It would be a nice beach but there is way too many people who are trying to sell you something which is definitely disappointing.

Additional points;

-A lot of rubbish on the beach and in the water.
-Very crowded in the afternoon before the sunset.
-Superb waves for the surfing.

Sam Rains (23/03/2016 06:06)
If you are into surfing then this beach will be great for you however other holiday goers who just want to relax and swim not so, when we went the sand was dirty and so much rubbish everywhere and people selling things everywhere, the water itself was warm however all the rubbish swimming next to you in the ocean is pretty off putting too. It was fun to hang in and get hit by all the waves but I wouldn't go there to relax id go elsewhere like Nusa Dua
