Kukup Beach is still in Tanjungsari district along with Baron beach and Krakal beach. People usually call the beach trio as Baron, Kukup, Krakal. All three beaches are often used as a destination in one holiday trip.
Kukup beach has soft white sand. The uniqueness of this beach is the existence of a large rock that poked into the ocean. Seeing the rocks will remind us of the beach of Tanah Lot in Bali. No wonder if some say beach resorts in Jogja this one as the land lotnya Jogja.

This is my second time to this place and still amazed with the ambiance... Saat datang lagi surut, kalau lagi pasang lebih cantik lagi.

I love this beach simply for the reason of it's beauty. I came to this place and stay for a night at the nearest guess house. In the very morning/dawn, if you managed to wake up early, the sunshine experience can be grasped holistically as the beach is very accommodative to do sunset-seiing activity.
There is no doubt that the local organise the beach very well. I would give 8.5 out of 10 for the cleanliness since the beach is not that clean after all.
You can also enjoy the seafood cuisine fresh cooked from the mother of nature, served in the stores located alongside the road down to the beach. They're very tasty i even ignore the fact that i have allergy on seafood (don't do that i highly recommend you to stick to your sense).
At the end, my experience at Kukup is enjoyable and unforgettable. Me and some of my friends also manage to take some good pictures that are instagram-able :)
You should go see for yourself.

It's quite easy to get to this beach because there are plenty sign to this place. You can also find it by following the road to Baron Beach because they are near each other. The parking lot is quite far from the beach but it's nice with a lot of trees that will help protecting your vehicle from the sun. There are some lodgings around if you want to spend a night there. The shops and local restaurants there are sufficient and nicer than in Baron Beach which is too crowded. The white sand in Kukup is quite rough. But you can catch small fishes in the coral reef on the shore. You can also borrow a beach umbrella plus the mat for Rp10.000,00 from the locals and even they will keep your belongings if you want to play in the beach. The locals are great and trustworthy. I had a very nice chat with the locals. They can provide you stories about the places better than the leaflet. The beach is less crowded than Baron Beach which is great for me.

Nice place to relax, many kiddos playing in the beach and its safe. You also can find fried seafood there.

Beautiful natural beach here in Kukup. The water is calm an clean, remembering it just 500 meter away from open sea.. But little bit crowded nowadays

Actually, the beach is great. Well, you have to admit, natural is always beautiful. But, I think it's not well managed by the local authority.

I love this place ... be carefull with the sharp coral. Food at the vendor are cheap and good. I also bought seaweed crackers, really delicious

They are so beautiful, there are many spot to take photos. Looks like Tanah Lot, Bali. Not that very clean, but not that messy. Coconut 12k IDR

Sweet beach, next to Baron beach. Can be viewed from lighthouse in Baron. Looks like Tanah Lot in Bali

This beach give us beautiful landscape, the bridge, and the beach with the giant stone describing this place. Local people sell many handicrafts and seafoods. Many facilities like homestay, toilets, and restaurants.

In my eyes, this is not the most beautiful of the apparently 72 beaches (as a local told me) in Yogya’s south. But the covered footbridge makes for some charming pictures, especially in during sunrise and sunset. If you’re lucky enough to spend the night in the area, make sure you book “Villa Tirtasari”, a tastefully designed house located on a hilltop close to the beach, thus sporting wonderful views. Daryl, the owner, and his wife also run the very recommendable warung DP down at the beach.
