Nice beach, especially for the fish market, you can get bunch of seafood at a very low price (compared price in the city), nice taste too.. the access is ok for sedan car.. very crowded at holiday season

One of he most crowded and most popular beaches in Gunungkidul. The view is good with many boats along the beach. There are some motels. We can eat many fishes with moderate price.

The beach is over populated. The stores are too many and too crowded. It makes the beach felt dirty even though the trash management is good actually (some people gather the trash periodically and carry it with a pick up car). In the other hand, the facilities are quite complete for Indonesian standard. You can even find some sinks to wash your hand.
The trees around the beach make it feels less hot there. There is a lighthouse on top of the hill beside the beach. The scenery is amazing there. You can spot the ladder to the lighthouse in the left side of the shore. You can use a local boat to enjoy this beach. It costs Rp10.000,00/pax but you can negotiate to get a lower price if there are many of you.
There's a river beside the beach. The river directly affect the beach. If its raining from the places where the river passing by, the water in the beach will become muddy and brown, even when there's no rain in the beach. Its dangerous to swim there because some whirlpools can emerge where the ocean water meets the river water.
But you can absolutely enjoy the seafood there. Baron is the beach with the best seafood around Gunungkidul. You should negotiate to get lower price from the shop owner.

Crowded beach with the boats being parked along the beaches. Nice views to enjoy in the afternoon and in the morning while the sun was not very hot. It's a black sandy beach.

The beach has an unique ritual tradition if you come there at the right time. But I don't know the details about the ritual.

Falling in love with this beach... So much beautiful... There is a lot of photo spot in the high hill near light house (mercusuar)...
The sand was beautiful, and the special things here is the river comes to meet the sea... And you can enjoy the river near beach, you can swim there... Absolutely awesome when I see the river comes from the under cave and flows to the sea... Speechless...

beautiful beach view with mercusuar, boat trip available for tourist. Lots of local seafood sold here. You can buy fresh fishes too from fisherman

This place is beautiful, the nature is awesome but, the management is bad. Government need to review and do some reparations.

Awesome getaway place! Beach is clean and is connected with a freshwater river. Waves are however big and can be dangerous... But the river mouth is safe for children to swim... Great place to relax and have a fresh coconut!

There are many local restaurants which serve fresh seafood with reasonable price. But the beach was not clean, there are many rubbish and smells bad.

Good beach but too crowded at the holiday and peak season, you can buy the fresh fish from the fishermen and also from the fish market with a cheap price..there are many restaurants and food stalls nearby the beach..

The beach has a good view and has a light house for public. Access to this place easy and the road good. You just have to pay entry ticket once to enter the beach along the Gunung Kidul.

Good beach, still able to play water and sand for south beach. Recommend to come here before 10am where boat still not crowd

There is no beauty or stunning view here. All you can see is umbrellas fill out the beach. Worthless.

I guess the only problem of this place is is pretty crowded, so try to get there not on weekends. If u climb cliff to the left side - u will get a stunning view to the ocean from a lighthouse, having some local coffee. there is also a trail along the cliff, which is nice to hike. There are plenty of local food restaurants offering seafood and local meals. Is OK to swim there, if it's not too wavy.

Biggest white sand beach in Yogyakarta. Beautiful bay surrounded by mystical rock formation.
Daily life of fishermen colors the activities. Great escape from the crowded city life.
