I wanted to love this place, and I’m sure some people do—but be wary about paying their deposit. They no longer had the dates we requested and stole my deposit when we weren’t able to get flights for their later availability. The experience has been so negative and disappointing. It’s sad when people like this are so cruel and greedy. The way they treated me speaks volumes about their character.

Awesome stay! I had my Yoga Teacher Training here, all the staff was amazing, they did their best to please our tastes and feeling. The structure of the building is circular, all the rooms are so, they are pretty, furniture is high quality, bathrooms outside. The yoga shala is an open space wide and breezy, as all the building, except for the rooms. I've felt like in a dream!

Mind-blowing and serene views from the upper deck. Meeting with Mariam was a pleasant experience. Highly recommended for yoga and meditation teachers who wish to host a retreat in Bali. The sea can be seen from the yoga studio and will make for some great memories.

I love all about it, I came to this place many time and never get disappointed. It's not just a retreat it is a home. Great staff, excellent food, beautiful and artistic building surrounded by rice field. Many choices of activities that keep you happy and busy.

The staff and owners are all lovely, as were the other guests who were staying there. It's truly a sanctuary for relaxation, healing, and growth. I was so sad to leave after only three days and would wholeheartedly recommend Floating Leaf without any reservation. The food was healthy and delicious, the rooms comfortable and eco-conscious.

My stay at Floating Leaf Eco Resort was Amazing! Floating Leaf provides the perfect retreat for groups seeking to heal and transform in profound ways. From the owners and staff that anticipate your every need to the facilitation of healers for spiritual growth, I can't think of a more sacred space for transformation of body, mind and spirit!

“Walk in. Float out” is a slogan you can find on the webpage of Floating Leaf, but as for me, I was pretty much floating in and out right from the day I arrived. I spent 12 nights at Floating Leaf and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Time seemed to have stopped and each moment was filled with new discoveries. I followed their “Path to Happiness” retreat which is a wonderful mixture of relaxation, cultural and spiritual discovery, but above all, it includes personalized programs that really create space for transformation and growth. I came back with a much stronger sense of purpose and faith in what my path is. Apart from the program, I would like to emphasize the community-centeredness of the place. Being there was like being at home, Putu, Mikaku and all the staff are very open, friendly and helpful, and the fact that meal is served around a big table assures that you will meet other guests and have a chance of connecting to possibly like-minded people. It was great to share our experiences around the table and also to team up and do things together if we felt like it. The spa offers fantastic treatments, the food is excellent, the rooms are beautiful and spacious. It is a perfect place to unwind and re-connect to yourself, while at the same time offering a chance to escape mainstream tourism and to discover authentic Balinese culture. I definitely recommend it and would love to go back. Thank you!:)

We had a wonderful stay at the Floating Leaf Resort. The owners Putu and Mikaku as well as the rest of the Floating-Leaf Retreat staff were all very nice and friendly and were ready to help with whatever question you may have. We especially liked that the owners held a personal contact with their guests and all the staff knew everyone by name. A big plus is of course their eco-frienldy organisation and their good sustainability policy.
I stayed there with my mom and we chose their offered "Heal and Replenish"-Retreat, but stayed 4 instead of 3 nights. The massages were excellent! And thank you again for organizing our trip to the healer. Putu and Mikaku know quite a few healer and can recommend just the right one for you. The complete trip was organized by them, so all the offerings and rituals are taken care of.
The resort itself including the pool is very peaceful and very well kept. The rooms are nice and big, very cool are the outside-bathrooms! We liked the decorations and art all over the resort!
We also want to compliment the kitchen and its staff. As we are vegetarian, we were especially surprised how well they catered for us. They gave us an excellent variety of dishes and every single one tasted really good.
All in all we wholeheartedly recommend this resort for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all stay. But don't worry, there are a lot of excursion they offer, if you want to venture out as well. We will definitely be back!

Floating Leaf is just wonderful. Exclusive, beautiful, small and eco-friendly with yoga at sunrise, spa treatments on command, delicious food with the freshest fruits and vegetables, relaxing pool and cars available to take you to the beach, into town, or on excursions to visit some of the delights the island offers. I had an amazing physical, mental and spiritual experience. I'd like to give it a 10-star rating.... and all of them gold.
Mikaku and Putu are wonderfully welcoming. We felt like their personal guests and all the staff are equally attentive and helpful. Thank you Mikaku and Putu, may all your guests appreciate your wonderful place and enjoy it as much as I did.

Not only one of the greatest vacations of my life but one of the most profound, healing and life changing events of my life. It seems strange to write this and say that a vacation made me a happier, healthier and better person, but thats exactly what my stay at Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat did. From the second I arrived to the moment I boarded my flight to leave, I was treated like a queen. I have high standards and had many specific requests. The staff handled them all like true professionals and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I smile every time I think about my stay and my friends and family have commented on my healthy glow, happier outlook on life and an overall improvement in my life.

I can not thank the staff and owners enough for having such a positive impact on me and one that will stay with me. Of course I got to experience the beauty and unique culture of Bali. The owners explained the spirituality, customs, religion and significance of what I experienced and I feel I have a deep understanding of the culture in just my short 7 day stay. The gentle sounds of the surf at night was beyond soothing!

They went above and beyond in so many ways. The food was not only healthy but the tastiest I experienced in Bali. The wi-fi was fast and reliable (rare for Bali). The beds were so comfortable. The spa was world class and I have the best massage and facial of my life (which is saying a lot as visit some of the best hotels and spas in the world). But most of all the special treatment and love I experienced for the staff, owners and other guests was the highlight for me.

My stay was a perfect balance of fun and pampering, adventure and culture, beach and natural wonders, healthy eating and yoga, and making new friends. I had no idea my decision to stay at Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat would have such an impact in so many ways but I am so happy to have found them and I thank all the people who left such great reviews that ultimately convinced me to stay at Floating Leaf.

I can not recommend Floating Leaf more strongly. Treat yourself to the best luxury experience and you will be so glad you did- just like me!

I have hosted many retreats world wide & I can say hands down that I have never worked with a team as professional & caring as the team at Floating Leaf. The owners Mikaku & Putu are the most welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting & working with.

They were exceptional in helping us plan out all travel for our participants, provided for each dietary need, offered help & suggestions for additional places/things to see while in Bali.

The floating leaf itself is a piece of heaven on earth, bringing Balinese tradition & awareness to Eco tourism together. The attention to detail in all planning & operation of this extremely eco friendly retreat is remarkable. All products used to build it are either recycled or sustainable materials. The toiletries smell amazing & are biodegradable. The food is fresh, delicious & local. And the venues are nothing short of breath taking.

On a personal note I fell pretty ill a few days into the retreat, due to a pre existing condition before I arrived in Bali. Putu had personally arranged a doctor's appointment for me, her staff drove me to the hospital & stayed with me to make sure I was ok.

I cannot recommended the floating leaf enough. I, as well as my guests were blown away with this experience & cannot wait to return ❤️

If you're coming to Bali for a relaxing, delicious, genuinely soulful, and eco-conscious vacation, then you must stay with Mikaku and family!

I want to start by saying Indonesian papers just reported that the country almost met its goal of 10 million tourists last year, and are on pace to break their goal of 12 million this year. Bali in particular has arguably the most vacation options that are all basically 5-star rated of anywhere I've stayed. This has to do with supreme commitment to service, a staple of both Balinese people and Balinese tourism.

What sets Floating Leaf apart from the many other "five star" Balinese options is their commitment to a detoxifying yet genuine, affordable experience. Their menu consists of numerous fresh options right from their garden. We stayed 4 nights and never at the same thing. We had fresh coconut yogurt w dragonfruit, french press coffee, daal, organic chicken crispy pizza, Mi Goring noodles w egg, a dinner buffet w leaf-steamed tuna, tempeh corn pepper salad, and more fruit and veggies juices than you can count. I don't think any other Balinese option, based on my extended perusal of reviews, maybe except for a $500/nt+ option, could offer such a commitment to organic and healthy eating. When they say hearty breakfast, they mean it! Additionally, I think one might wonder why the cost per night is a little higher than other places in the area without giving you your own villa - when you arrive, you will understand why the value of this place cannot be overstated. But this is the tragedy of Bali in some ways, there are a lot of options that take advantage of the land, people, and spirit of Bali to provide you a cheap, tourist experience. That is NOT this place. Although a little off the beaten path (one hour from the airport), I promise its worth it. Not least of which, you will see how much Bali has been pillaged; here, they are committed to the environment and local people in every element of design and function. The owners' ability to act on his beliefs for what eco-friendly tourism should be are empowering, as he spent much time in Bali developing his plans over several years (even calibrating the design of the "leaf" structure to match prevailing wind patterns!). Coming back to the point of villas in Bali and for full disclosure, we stayed here at Floating Leaf for 4 nights then capped our trip with one Balinese Villa night. I also would recommend, if you have time, to stay here a few days and then stay 1-2 nights in Lombok or the Gilis, so you can snorkel and enjoy the clear blue waters, which are not readily available in Sanur and are too crowded in Lembongan.

People travel for different reasons. One of ours is to open our minds and change up our routine. We did both here with great success. I think one of the strengths of Floating Leaf is the long wooden table at the center that serves to bring the guests staying here together. We met other travelers and even the owners' wonderful, 50-yr married parents were there visiting. Their company and life lessons are unforgettable.

We loved the spa services, my wife said it was the best massage and facial she's had, at a perfect price. I loved the salt water pool after a day in the sun or a yoga session. The yoga studio was open air on the third floor, as the balinese warmth makes it easier to stretch but the gentle breeze keeps you from overheating. Our favorite teacher was Krishna, request him if he's available! Apparently Eka is also very good. You can also relax by the pool and appreciate the view of the volcano, or the birds building nests, or the rice patties, the list goes on.

In short, you won't find a better use of your time, spirit, GI tract, and money on vacation than here. If I am ever planning a Balinese retreat, it will certainly be here. We look forward to following their adventures on Facebook and hopefully seeing them again in the future.

Excellent facilities; the rooms, beautiful and restorative; the food, healthy AND delicious; the staff, wonderfully attentive. But what separates this from other accommodations are your hosts: Mikaku and Putu. They listen to what your interests are and then go the extra mile to see that you have the experience you came to Bali to have.
We were interested in learning more about the customs and culture of this beautiful island. Mikaku arranged an experience with a local healer; provided us with the background and appropriate garments so we could have an authentic experience of the cleansing ritual at the Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple; they took us to a local cremation ceremony (again providing the garments appropriate to such an event).
Interested in water sports (diving, snorkeling) shopping, photography, restaurants? They provided guidance on all of these.
If all you want is to sit on a beach and drink Pina Coladas, this is probably NOT your place. But if you want to get a real sense of Bali, its people and culture, Floating Leaf is where you should stay.
