" Terminal Pinang Baris, memang menjadi pusat transportasi terbesar di Kota Medan. Terminal yang menjadi ciri khas Kota Medan ini memang begitu di kenal oleh warga sekitar Medan. Siapa warga Medan yang tidak kenal atau tidak pernah pergi ke terminal ini? Bahkan tidak hanya warga Medan saja, warga sekitar Binjai, Langkat, dan Aceh pun tak asing dengan terminal satu ini. Terminal yang memiliki lokasi strategis dan selalu ramai pengunjung, apa lagi waktu-waktu akhir pekan. Kebersihan di terminal ini cukup terjaga baik oleh Dinas Perhubungan. Keteraturan, kenyamanan, bus-bus yang parkir disini pun relatif sangat lengkap, baik itu bus antar kota, bus antar provinsi, terutama bus-bus yang berasal dari Aceh. Tempat parkir yang berada di terminal ini pun juga luas sekali, keamanan juga tetap terjaga.
29 April 2019Terminal ini berada di pusat Kota Medan. Jadi apabila Anda lebih memilih menaiki bus untuk keluar-masuk kota Medan, Anda pasti akan turun langsung di pusat Kota. Bahkan Anda bisa lebih mudah untuk mencari penginapan yang dekat dari terminal ini. Dikarenakan banyak sekali penginapan yang berada di sekitar terminal. Mulai dari hotel, losmen dan lain sebagainya. Harganya pun beragam. Tidak terlalu mahal namun ada juga yang menengah ke atas. Jadi, jangan ragu apabila memilih alat transportasi untuk sampai ke Medan. "

" Thieves. We were targeted by 3 guys and perhaps part of larger gang, who sold us a fake bus ticket for triple the price. They ran off when the bus arrived and we had to pay the driver the real ticket. Avoid this bus terminal to go to Bukit Lawang or Tangkahan at all costs!! Even the locals will warn you this place is dangerous and not to go there. "

14 August 2017When I got here it was Saturday noon but I was the only one that waited for bus. When the van to bukit lawang came, 3 other guys got in and insisted me to pay 150,000. The driver did not say anything. I thought it should have beenn around 30,000-35,000, so i told them, however they said my info was about 2010, in 2017 it is 150. The van ran for 2min and stopped. That 3 guys said if i dont pay, i have to get off the van. I paid 37,000 and finally they left. The driver kept silent.
Even if you want help from locals or drivers, they don't. They do not speak English and seems they do not want to get in trouble.
Later I talked with local passenger via google translate. It turned out locals pay 20,000 and foreigners do 50,000 to B. Lawang. I was lucky enough to have heard some bad stories about this bus terminal. I wonder why people from my hotel said this is safe.

" Hati hati jika sampai disini, terkadang ada begal. Kalau mau naik bus ke Arah Aceh, jangan mau bayar pada kenek, bayar langsung ke supir bus. Pengalaman waktu mau ke Pekan Besitang diminta uang 45rb, padahal ongkosnya cuma 20rb. "
