Beautiful property, cool mountain air and comfortable accommodations at an excellent price. You can tell the used to be really something and even though some things are in disrepair you can see/feel the love that is being put into bringing it back to life in an intelligent way.
You get your own Villa (fancy!) With a separated en suite bathroom, King sized bed and porch that looks out to Singaraja and the ocean. The only issue in my room was that the toilet seat wasn't properly secured but this was a minor issue.
They've converted the swinging pool into a fish pond where apparently you can catch your dinner (I have been eating veg so didn't try). I enjoyed wandering the property and imagining how it was at it's height. Be sure to check out the large kitchen in the basement and the beautiful space on the top floor. I also recommend exploring the one building that has mostly been taken apart. Looks like it used to be a very nice spa.
Breakfast was included and the banana pancakes were delicious. If you're staying as a single occupant don't be afraid to ask for both meals that would normally be included in the price. I had a pancake, an omelette and Balinese kopi (coffee). I believe many of the ingredients they use here and at their warung up the street come from their farms. Everything certainly tasted very fresh.
You can order take away from the Eco warung but I suggest you go at dinner time as they have live traditional music. I forget this and ate my succulent meal in my room then rediscovered the music when I went there for lunch the next day. Don't make my mistake :) they also have better information about local attractions and outdoor adventures there.
Renting your own scooter is highly advised. I got one in ubud and rode around but you can rent one there

This is a development chance for a Balinese family. Takes courage to start this business.

Really cool eco-friendly villas with very nice staff & stunning views. Very cold but each villas have its own fireplace. Romantic & perfect for Bali escapism.

Unique place. It used to be a luxury hotel, after the Bali bombing it was empty for a few years. The bungalows are still in very good shape, only the main house could be renovated. You have a great view down the hill over the ocean from your balcony. Ask for firewood as there is a fireplace in the bungalow and it can be a bit cold.

Arrived in the evening, asked for two rooms. One for my mum and one for my 'wife' and me. Seemed all good, had a short chat and were asked where we're from. Told him, that we're from Germany and suddenly the hotel was full and we were told to leave. Äöhm.. Hello?

PapaJero and his son aren't professional hoteliers as they're very new to this but they make you feel at home and I absolutely loved that. The villas were clean and beautifully built. The grounds are surrounded with vegetable plots and plants of all kinds. HIGHLY recommend this hidden gem!!

If you are looking for a Hotel experience, look elsewhere. This place is nestled on a beautiful ridge in the village of Wanagiri. You can hike (up and down some pretty steep hills) to find some "nearby" waterfalls (from what I understand, about 3.5km away) but don't expect the area to give you much more than that and isolation once the sun goes down. The family that runs the place is very nice with Yudi being probably most familiar with English. They do offer a car hire service, but I would suggest arranging something before hand so that, if you wanted to change your schedule, you're given a bit more freedom to do so. Overall, as a relaxing location away from the tourists, this is a pretty decent option. My particular villa had a bit of a moth ball smell and there were some spots on the sheets that are probably just stains that can't be removed by the heavy duty chemical free hand washing that they bedding goes through. Lastly, much like the rest of the island (at least mid-March), don't expect dry anything.
TL;DR - Expect isolation with no wi-fi or much to do once the sun goes down, but be happy if that's what you're searching for.

Suasananya sangat natural sekali jauh dari kebisingan hiruk pikuk keramaian kota...I like it
