Must visit here, when you are travelling to Bali
Clean area with all the staff are very helpfull.
There are many too many interesting area in this location to take photos.
So prepare more times if you are visiting here.
The best time according my experience is in the afternoon until sunset.

The location itself is exotic but the temple it's far from being one of the best in Bali, like many others said.
It looks better in the pictures that it actually is. Very small.
It was too crowded as well. Dozens of Indonesian touristic buses.
A bit disappointed after seeing it. Or maybe I was just too hyped. Don't make my same mistake!

TRUE PARADISE. Just like every other temple and monuments in Bali, Indonesia this is not lacking behind. It's one of the greatest most admirable temples in the world with would attract you. Peaceful and calm place with great views across the temple. Very scenic and photogenic.
It demands more appreciation but I'm speechless

One of the most beautiful temple in Bali, the temple was appear as picture on the Indonesian currency of 50,000. The place is always crowded with tourists and one of the best spot to take a picture. The entrance fee ticket is 20,000 IDR.

Wonderful Temple.
A must visit place if visiting Bali
Excellent views, lovely Garden
It contains all the flavours any nature lover would love... Be it Lake, a temple, it's reflection, a mountain in the backdrop, clear sky, mesmerizing flowers, well maintained trees and you name it.
Entrance ticket is 50000 rupiah and it's worth it, compared to other famous temples in Bali
Try to get there early in the morning

Surreal feeling to be here. A lake that is actually the crater of a sleeping volcano, it is a beautiful sight to see. The temples floating on the lake are great photo opportunity, especially on a good day. Manicured gardens surround the lake, good to spend an afternoon at the peak, just chilling in the cool air and enjoy Indonesia food at restaurants facing the lake.
Quite far to go from the city, so plan your trip accordingly. Best to hire a car and driver to take you there, show you around and explain the history behind it.

Lovely sights. Tickets are Rupiah 50k per person.
However it is a bit far off, about 1 hour drive from most major attractions. There are many food options which locals frequents, so you can get your guide to avoid the tourist traps.

This is probably the best temple I have visited in Bali. The setting if stunningly gorgeous. It by the lake side and the beauty is further enhanced by the mountains in the background.
The temple is also very beautiful with lush green gardens and a large area to relax and spend time.
Rent a bike and take the off road (in maps) approach to this temple to enjoy the bike ride too!
Totally recommend visiting this place...

This one is a bit far but worth a visit. Please remember that there is not always water around the pagoda. Do not be surprised if you cannot find one drop. The best time to visit is in the wet season and here is not as hot as the downside (different altitude). Sometimes you may feel a bit cool. The lake and the mountains are great. Sometimes they have dancing performance or practice. Enjoy.

Even though the size is not large, it didn't discourage the fascination it has.
Being built at the edge of a beautiful lake and surrounded by green plants enhance the magnificence.
You should to put it on your visit list. Bring your camera over here when dry season. Reach up the venue in the morning or late in the afternoon to capture and record the best moment.

All in all, I was happy to have visited this temple and Lake, but my favorite part, by far, was the speed boat ride. Cool, misty air blowing in my face as the boat reached higher speeds felt wonderfully refreshing in a place as consistently hot as Bali is. Also, I am staying in Bali extremely budget conscious, and this place didn't break me.

One of beautiful temple in Bali. It's on the lake. Best time to come here was sunny day. Entrance fee is cheap. This place is a must to visit. I came here when rainy day but luckily it goes sunny when i spend 2 hours for waiting, i got some beautiful pictures during my time here
Steven P (24/09/2017 14:58)
A temple in the lake and the weather is cooling there. The entrance fee is cheap and it might be featured in the $50,000 RP note. Take a walk around and as you leave the temple stop along the road side to buy some strawberries $25,000.00 for 1 big pack. Those tiny stall sells crackers which are delicious too. You can bargain and purchase them cheap.
Yohan Madiana (11/09/2017 15:03)
Really cool place to take pics, but nothing else. But the temple and scenery is beautiful. I recommend not to come during rainy season because it is so problematic.
Jayan Vidanapathirana (09/09/2017 09:00)
It's really nice view. Sometimes the Beratan lake fully covered by mist. This area is bit different from other areas of the island. Bit cool and misty.

Very beautiful and serene place. Surrounding mountains and lake add to the beauty. Crowded with lot of people but you do get your opportunity to click nice pictures.
You can also go boating in the lake nearby for a nominal price (120k idr for speed boat).
Špela Dekleva (13/08/2017 12:36)
Nice place to take pictures-would be perfect if sunny. Very well groomed park. Quite many tourists, but not crowded. But what is absolutely terrible is the taking of photos with live animals(flying fox, owls, parrots). Poor animals. What they do with flying fox is awful.

It's a beautiful water temple in Bedugul. It's particularly spectacular during sunrise. The temple is an architectural marvel and an iconic structure of Balinese architecture.A must visit place.
Kimberly Suparman (30/06/2017 01:00)
The temple was good, but it was so crowded and full of people when I was there, very hard to get a good shot of pictures... anyway, it was not too hot when I got there, nice weather and beautiful flowers around there...

Gorgeous & Serene!! Must visit!
This temple is an absolute beauty!! It was raining when we reached there but nonetheless it was oh so perfect! We actually liked it way more than the extremely popular Tanah Lot.
Ulun Danu has beautiful views and a calming vibe to it. It is so serene that you would love to just walk around, take beautiful pictures and just stare into that beautiful setting!
We were lucky to even witness a ceremony and it was so beautiful and very interesting at the same time.
You cannot miss this one while on your trip to Bali!

Amazing landscape and nature gifts vs amazing retarded and savaged people. While we were walking through the beautiful park, we stumble upon some umbrellas under which we found these chained owls. Tourists were supposed to take photos with the owls and pay money for this. At sudden moves, they were getting scared and fly in all directions but still held by the chain, so they couldn't fly more than few meters. I barely managed to take a photo and one dude got enraged and almost attacked us because of it.

One of the major attraction in Bali. Lots of tourists, Great natural view and famous temple on the water. We loved the place and it's a perfect spot for some nice photo memories.

Beautiful place... Cool temperature and nice garden to walk through...50,000 entrance fee well worth the admission for a nice stroll... Restaurant inside is very cheap and good serving size... Wish I can live here...😍

Amazing place. Even have some fun swings for children or those young at heart. A bit difficult to get to but this whole part of bali is stunning.
Plentiful Lee (05/03/2017 15:16)
Most beautiful place in Bali! Temple on a lake! There's an entrance fee but it's pretty cheap. The scenery here is unbelievable, it feels like you are somewhere magical! The weather is cooling and not too sunny because you are way up above sea level. You can take some water sport activities or you can just enjoy the views. Beware of tourist traps, we were bought into this expensive buffet restaurant but the food there was exactly like the breakfast we had in our hotel, not worth it (~150,000 RP/person). Look for local food, if the restaurants nearby is filled with tourist bus or private vans, don't go in! Change a place, go back to Ubud or Kuta or just eat a piece of bread.

Beautiful temple with great landscape. I came there at 6pm, and it was full of fog with little sunshine. The ticket about IDR 20k

Absolutely stunning temple and gardens set along the lake Bratan. No visit to Bali will be complete without a visit to this holy attraction
Fred Chittenden Jr. (08/02/2017 02:03)
Don't confuse with Pura Ulun Danu Bratan on google maps but this is the main destination I believe? The grounds have great landscaping and the temple is right on the water.

Lovely environment. Beautiful small temple with the lake and mountain as backdrop. Cool crisp air with nice landscaped gardens.
Nice getaway from the heat in rest of Bali.
Henri Kurniawan (27/11/2016 01:06)
Beautiful temple. But do check the price written on the ticket. The ticket seller on the counter likes to make up the price. We went in November 2016 and he said 50k rupiah per ticket first, I asked to confirm and he said 40k rupiah per ticket the second time which we paid. When I checked the ticket later on it says 20k rupiah on the ticket.
Nayeem Siddiqui (19/10/2016 14:11)
The temple location is nice, The cool breeze on top are really refreshing, no entrance fee. Nothing special but the surrounding areas are worth visting, the cloud, mountain and the lake.
Ade Nan (07/10/2016 03:39)
As a live museum this temple has beautiful vicinity scenery, daily ritual is live, ulun danu beratan is island icon. There is no wheel chair access !
Matthew Cawood (03/10/2016 07:46)
One of many nice temples in Bali. Not sure there is anything here to differentiate it from the others. We didn't have to pay an entrance fee, though I think we were there on a special day. There is a restaurant which seemed like a convenient place to eat, thought we didn't try it. Being at a higher altitude, it tends to be cooler than the coast.

Iconic water temple, Lake Bratan, featured in Indonesian 50 thousand rupiah note, Buddha stupa
One of the most famous and iconic temple, and most visited place in Bali for decades. The Ulun Danu Bratan temple is build on a tiding lakeside, in some seasons, the lake rises to cover most of the grounds, and creating an image of a floating temple. The temple has two structures, the smaller was holy and inaccessible most of the time. The famous temple was tall, resembling Mount Meru, the axis mundi in Balinese cosmology. The temple is best pictured early in the morning at 7 am or in the afternoon after 5pm. In midday, the large compound is full of the hoi polloi and selfie sticks, impossible to make a good picture.
The complex also has a landed pura, an old one with detailed carvings but not accessible for tourists. A Buddha stupa is another feature of the place, near a deer place. The large part of the place is a well maintained flower garden, a buffet restaurant, exotic animal display for phototaking and water sports. You can rent a speed boat to the other part of the lake, which is Bedugul Wana Villas.
De Danau resto across the street is the best available place to eat in the area. Or Mentari, which has buffet money for lunch.
Going further north Lake Bratan is the twin lakes Buyan and Tamblingan, Munduk waterfall, Puncak Bagus café (best spot to see the twin lakes in one panorama), Ngiring Ngewedang resto, Brahma Vihara Arama (Theravadin Buddhist Temple).

This picturesque landmark and significant temple sits on the western side of Beratan Lake, up in Bali’s central highlands. During high tide, the smooth reflective surface of Beratan surrounds most of the temple’s base, creating a unique floating illusion, while the mountain range provides the temple with its hazy, dreamy backdrop. The striking scenery and cool atmosphere of these uplands have made the temple site a favourite sightseeing and recreational spot for visitors. Ulun Danu Beratan temple’s piodalan takes place every ‘Kliwon Julungwangi’ Tuesday on the Balinese pawukon. On any other regular day, the large flowering lakeside gardens and shrines offer an enjoyable time with many photographic opportunities. Recreational activities include short boat trips around the lake, leisurely rides for two on duck paddleboats, and other water sports. Read More...

The temple isn't the most wonderful thing in Bali people make out to be. It's rather small and nondescript, however the compound is well laid out and very neat. We enjoyed a beautiful traditional dance performance here for free !

One of the big Hindu temple outside India.. :)
Situated at a very beautiful lake surrounded by green covered mountains.. definitely going to make you feel good.. if staying in South Bali plan properly as it's bit far and may have traffic on the way.

Straddling two islets in the Bratan crater lake and seeming to float on water, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan represents quintessential Bali, with its meru roofs reflecting in the water against a backdrop of misty mountains. This little temple is dedicated to the water goddess Dewi Danu, and people come from villages all over the region to pray for successful irrigation.

This is the most touristic tremolo temple in Bali. Of course, it is supposed that you need to visit it.
It's very crowded, don't expect a relaxing atmosphere of something like that. The entry was ridiculous, there is two man taking the money but there is no sign about the price. I asked the price and then he changed. I didn't received any ticket after paying it.
It was rm30 each. Was it correct? I don't know, was I scammed? I don't know neither...
